Great stuff as ever Dave - as it happens I received the same bundle last week (not had a moment to try it yet as I'm between bike tours!) so need to watch your other videos on how to edit etc - if you say this camera is a good 'un then that's all the recommendation I need!! Cheers pal!
Thanks for doing the review of the bundle. Absolutely vouch by the motorcycle bundle..although I have insta 360 One R. Have used in the Rann of Kutch (salt desert) ...am loving using the insta 360. Second the fact, trying to use it with comica wireless mic. Rajesh (Thane - MS - India)
Thanks for that Dave! Really useful and informative 👍 we’re still experimenting with the best way to mount our 360 🤔 It’s a pity it’s not compatible with the Go Pro remote. 😀👍
Good stuff Dave, I invested in an Insta 360 One R at the end of last year & it's main use so far is that 'looking back' shot for vlog videos. I love the fact you don't have to worry about POV, it's just fire & forget once you avoid the stitch line 👍
I’m so impressed by it. A huge improvement on the previous model. I’m actually considering swapping over entirely from my GoPro setup to this camera. I’m just waiting on the bracket to arrive for a radio mic. More vids in this camera setup soon. Thanks for the comment!👍🏍🎥
Just FYI...the charging door pulls completely out. If you don't remove it when using the microphone adapter you can have sound cutouts because the little plastic door leash keeps the adapter from seating properly.
That’s a great review! I actually really like the helmet mount. The shot of you sitting on the selfie stick looks good too. The only hang up I have is the daunting task of the edit. I’ve heard mixed reviews on the difficulty.
Hi Dave, I might just buy one of these after seeing your review. You manage to remove the angst of will I won’t I 😱 get it. Still enjoying the GS? Your vlogs are developing into great tutorials as well as an enjoyable watch. That sums up a great teacher👍👍👍 be well and ride safe. Trevor.
Hello! Interesting video! I Have noticed a lot of guys on TH-cam using 360's I just wondered that it is a pain to edit! To be honest I am struggling with audio still not happy with mine! Keep up the good work! I shall be in Eire soon on my bike! 🏍💨💨☘✊
I have had a lot of audio problems and camera problems using both the GoPro and Insta. The new GoPro 10 is superb so far though. When you headed to Ireland? And where? Cheers
What stud are you using to fix the two Manfrotto clamps together, the ones I have seen are rather long and the short one is brass which might not be as strong as a steel one, thanks.
I have the same camera and motorcycle mount kit and I'm equally impressed with it. The audio adapter for the 360 one X2 arrived just yesterday and I'm looking forward to trying that out with a microphone feed. I'm thinking of investing in a Rode wireless go 2, I've seen a vid where the guy mounts the receiver unit on a ulanzi bracket under the camera and then uses a short cable to link it to the audio adapter. He mounted the cable inline with the camera edge and all appeared to be hidden in the stitch line. Be interested in your opinion of the Rode wireless go 2 as I would like to capture decent audio for both my wife and I when filming off bike stuff. (Hopefully without the faf of extra voice recorders)
This is weird. I’m filming an audio piece describing just how to use the Rode wireless go2 on the Insta360 this week! I have used the Rode system for the last year and it’s brilliant. Long battery life, never any interference, and scans for the best frequency automatically in the background. They’re superb and I’m hoping I can transmit from my helmet to the camera no problem. Thanks again for watching.
Hi Dave, after watching your video I've invested in a Insta360 One X2. I have a 990 Super Duke which has a thumpy V-Twin. My question is, do you get any vibration issues? I see they seel a vibration damper but wasn't sure if it'll be needed. I only ask as I'm still waiting for delivery. Great video and thanks!
Hi David, great choice. Don’t bother with the damper as the camera wobbles around too much on it and then causes a vibration issue. If you mount it solid to your bike handlebars or frame using their motorcycle mount kit then there are zero vibrations. The in built flow state technology gets rid of all that horrible stuff. Do you have a channel or Instagram I could follow your progress on? Cheers
@@WheelieGoodTV Thanks for your super quick reply Dave! Really looking forward to getting some footage. I've had gopros in the past but they al broke one way or another and the stabilisation was never great. But now with 360 becoming affordable I had to invest. I don't do videos for youtube, never really have... but if the footage I can get is good and get some decent sound then I'll be sure to post on my page. Thanks again for great response.
Nice video mate! But you say you are a camera man. So I think you now what's an equalizer! Your audio is way to boomy! Think about to set a low cut next time! Cheers
Great video! Did the handlebar Mount come in the motorcycle kit or is that an additional/third party accessory? I bought my first bike 5 days ago (bmw g310r) and was already bumped into at a stop light today 😡 it made me realize a camera is probably a good thing to have.
@@wojciechorzechowski2211 I would never record for that long. I only turn on the camera in short bursts. The file sizes would be massive if you wanted to record for 5hrs. Best to record on GoPro in HD for that length of time.
Hi, so that was voice over done in the edit whilst I was waiting on the adapter for the 360 cam to hold a Rode Wireless Go mic on the side of the cam. Insta sell these brackets on their website.
@@WheelieGoodTV cool. I just ordered the camera and the mount kit. If you have a link or suggestion on what’s needed to set up a mic, much appreciated. Thanks
@@d14ever hi. I use the Tram TR50 broadcast quality lapel microphone. Expensive but worth every penny as these little capsules have to sort out a lot of crap with all the different frequencies inside a bike helmet. Don’t bother with a cheaper mic as they’ll only distort.
Ironically, the audio on this video is so muffled and lacking in high-end, that I had to greatly increase the volume and really concentrate to figure out what was being said. Apparently the "thing or two" does not include audio.

Thank you for this very informative and helpful video.
Thanks for this vid, I was looking for a decent review and now I'm definitely buying this!
Welcome Dale. It’s amazing.
Great informative video ! Thanks for the different angles
I’m looking to get this and mount it to my bike ! 🏍🏍
Thanks for the feedback. 👍🏍
Love it great tips and very useful information during this video. Thank you for the share and definately will follow for more surprises.
Thanks bud 🙏🏍
Great stuff. I'm going to try out some of these angles with my Insta 360 One X2 soon.
Lovely shots, triple black looks great 👍
Fascinating, thank you for the tutorial.

Great review, thanks!
I wish I had that camera when I had my motorcycle doing twisties versus mounting three action cameras on my bike.
That was helpful. Thank you very much!

Incredible review! Thanks 😊
Lad, yir roads ar as bad as ours here.. :-) Thanks! I bought one because of one of your previews and I am very satisfied! Regards!

Awesome job! Thanks for showing all the angles..I just bought this camera, but am trying to learn the editing part.. thank you for the video
Thanks pal. I still don’t understand the editing using the app on a phone. I find it a lot easier using the free Insta 360 studio on a laptop.
Great video, the usb flap/cover is completely removable, just be gentle with it.
Great review and tips. Thanks.
What a cracking vid mate, loving the seat shot ;-)

How about recording voice audio?
With the 360
Here you go Paul. I covered it in another video. Cheers. th-cam.com/video/0ixdaf0d5yU/w-d-xo.html
Can you charge it while recording?
Yes you can. Just use the usb C port on the side but keep the lead taped down the side of the camera to keep it invisible.

I removed the lens guards, they reduced the quality too much.
How do I talk whilst filming does the camera hear me
Nope, there’s a bit more to it I’m afraid Derek. Check my video library and it’s covered in a few of my helmet setup vids. Cheers, Dave.
how long can u ride with this thing?
I’ve tried it in constant record and get 1.5 hours. But stopping and starting will get me what I need for a motovlog over an 8 hr spin.
