Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Black (mod) - Ultimate Ninja - Chapter Challenge 14 (No death, No saves)

The mod improves Sigma 2 in every single way, adding back guaranteed delimbs, adding old moves from Sigma 1, increasing AI numbers and aggression (to the point of insanity in the new difficulty mode added, Ultimate Ninja) and basically making the experience as close to the original ng2 as it's possible with what Sigma 2 allows (there's still a handful of bosses that are complete trash, Hayashi's stench isn't that easy to wipe away from this mess).
The goal for this practice run was doing the whole chapter without dying or using save statues (dying is cringe), and killing everyone without skipping a single fight (which is quite annoying because there are some encounters where it's easy to despawn enemies by accident).
The difficulty added by the mod is truly insane (seriously, to the point ng2 is easy in comparison, the changes to AI behaviour are just plain brutal, and fun), and this chapter in particular is the hardest, fighting 5 Rasetsu at the same time is quite the experience, and the last gauntlet is by far the most unpleasant in the whole game.
The start of the chapter isn't that bad, the dogs are a bother when fighting ninjas, since they tend to flood the area where Ryu is standing, pushing out both the player and the ninjas due to collision issues, making any attempt to fight normally futile (and they just love to bite when you are doing whatever string).
The second encounter is pretty unfun if fought up front. Doable, but just relies on UT chaining and Izuna drop/GT spam, so I ran like a bitch back to the door (and proceeded to spam UTs, izunas and guillotine throws, but hey, at least the walls allow for some interesting play).
The encounter after requires waiting for all the ninjas to spawn at the stairs before moving, otherwise they'll despawn, ruining the whole point of doing all fights. I screwed up my movement and was unable to get on the stairs safely thanks to the most nonsensical invisible wall ever placed, not even mad at this point (and I sincerely appreciate the varied map geometry otherwise).
The tengu fight is nothing special, they are not that bad of an enemy, despite being exclusive to sigma 2 (not even Hayashi can find it in himself to make every element of this game terrible), but the whole fight is kinda trash thanks to camera issues fighting the mob (which wouldn't be a problem in the original ng2 because the camera actually works correctly) RT switches the camera focus between the two tengu, so there's that at least.
The rasetsu fight, the least said the better, I just abused the absurdly broken Y forward Y of the Lunar.
The following fights are unremarkable (except me screwing up so badly I even had to use 2 herbs). The archers in the forest are really easy to avoid if you do flying swallow just at the edge of the line where they spawn, but I screwed up and got nailed. The encounter with archers and IS fiend ninjas was so trash I just ninpoed out of it, same with the fight with archers and mages at Murai's place.
The gauntlet at the end is pretty hilarious, where the mod trolls you personally and disables the ability to use ninpo (silly animation included). Gotta be honest though, I would have ninpoed the hell out of that garbage fight, at least that forced me to fight like a man... and just spam UTs till everyone dies, not that much different I guess.
I didn't want to izuna Genshin at the end, always seemed disrespectful to the guy, so I just had a chill fight with him.
Never thought I'd see the day where a ninja gaiden game with the visuals of sigma 2 could hold a candle to the craziness and goodness of OG NG2

Fiend Busa did an excellent job with the mod.
I absolutely love this mod... I even dare say I prefer the mod over OG NG2... but when the ninpo is disabled, you can die with a talisman and then you'll be able to use ninpo but after time I'll fix itself into no ninpo again.

@@jarrjarrjarrbinks More enemies, often more than OG Ninja Gaiden 2, incendiary shuriken, more aggressions, changed damage values, custom moves from Sigma 1, added moves, graphic settings, blood options, higher delimb chance, guillotine throw is a guaranteed delimb against a wall, izuna drops instantly kill (including flower Garland drop and underworld drop), Weapon buffs, Kusari Gama's Y attack has I frames now, and more! Some bosses have added moves too.

I just found this video and I'm absolutely sad that this isn't the collection. The collection is still fun for me, even regular Sigma 2. It's not bad at all, just missing a lot for some reason? Might pick the PC version up, so I can play with this mod.
When I turn on cheat engine, there are some mods like difficulty level - mod blood... can't activate

After enabling every essential things from the NGS2 Black Mod (which makes the experience the closest to og NG2),
How much similar it can get to the og NG2? As in, what are the things that can arent (or wont be be yet) possible to mimic or port from the og NG2? Or all of the good things og NG2 are already present in the mod? Or does the mod over-exceeds the og NG2 in goodness?
Just want to know because I was thinking of playing the OG one and then replaying the game with the NGS2 Black Mod on. If the mod makes NGS2 better than Black, I wont play the OG one.
It ends up being a different experience.
It pays proper respect to NG2 (unlike unmodded Sigma 2), and hell, there's stuff I like more in the mod than in the proper game, but if you have the time, I'd recommend you play both.
The original NG2 is an excellent game, and this mod by Fiend Busa is worth a playthrough, or two.
If you can only play one, for whatever reason, I'd say to give NGS2 Black a spin, despite my personal adoration of NG2. The mod doesn't render the og NG2 outdated, or replaces it as an ultimate version of the same thing, but it does a pretty good job at offering novel fun.
The only flaws the mod has are the kind of stuff that is endemic to NGS2 itself, it's not really the mod's fault.

A video idea which might be very insightful, is an Ultimate breakdown of the differences between NG2, NGS2 and NGS2 Black, like omparisons from cutscene differences, combat, puzzles, enemy placements etc. standpoints.
I know videos like that might take huge amount of time and effort to make and publish, but this can be like the ultimate guide for choosing the correct version of game ^-^
I love how wholesome and informative these ng comment sections are. Helps out a lot in educating me how to enjoy it the most and also the love the community expresses towards these games

What mod version is this? I'm playing chapter 14 on NGS2 Black mod (V366) now on Ultimate Ninja and it's no way near this difficult and it doesn't have this insane enemy spawn. Fiend busa's mod (14.0) on Master Ninja was more difficult but still nothing like this.
That was the old 117 version of the mod, back when it was running under CE.

I was wondering why NG2 was so easy... I played the OG NG2 and I just remember it being absolutely brutal.
I will say, UN mode looks ridiculous. There's so much stuff that you have to abuse invincibility, which is a bit disappointing.

that's the default hud you get when you beat the game in master ninja difficulty.
