2024 ELR Diesel Gala - 20066 Returns to life (START-UP!)

After years out of the public eye, 20066 sees a full restoration by the fantastic team at HNRC to return 20066 back into life for the 2024 ELR summer diesel gala.

Bizarrely, one of my earliest childhood memories is the distinctive noise of the Class 20s serving the East Midlands pits near where I grew up!

Excellent rebuild. That was some rough bearing surface, definitely not well lubed. The difference in thickness between the new red painted bits and the old yellow cab paint was amazing. Years of just paint over !😂. Typical narkey EE start. You have to beat them with a tree like Basil Fawlty before the submit !

@@J0nnyGT Can smell the hot oil and burnt diesel, despite being a four pot, the old Chopper is just as noisy smelly as its bigger brother, yes cats&kittens a 'Tractor'.
