Pokémon Masters EX: EX Role SST Red Off-Type vs Anabel Ultimate Battle

I see lots of newer players thinking Field EX is bad for Red. It's not - in fact, it's probably the best EX Role he could ask for. This was the only battle that Tbolt ever had any issues with, and now is simply free. Field EX is essentially giving you more grid energy, as you can now skip MAX Conductivity for a lot more damage via Cakewalk and Static Shock 3, on top of an even longer Terrain than before. IMO, he's no contest the top 1 pair at this point.

I was honestly so stumped when people were disappointed to see him get Field role. Genuinely the only role I wanted for him since these were introduced. Like what are you going to do with a striker or sprint he already does that at base.

Field role is the most suitable for him, so you can get all the nuke multiplier. No need max conductivity, especially for this long long long hard battle.

People were saying that t-bolt red couldn't clear Anabel's stage (if ash isn't in the team) cuz they said that she hard counters his debuffs.

@@royal_kim1154 I saw that team in the list of teams that cleared the stage.
But prior to ropalme's video, I haven't seen any t-bolt red clears WITHOUT ash in the team.

I remember ppl saying she hard counters NC Red b/c she becomes immune to freeze, but I've never seen anyone downplay T Red vs her. I never knew there was an issue.

​@@emerfirek I think the only thing that prevented t-bolt red from clearing anabel's stage without ash in the team was the lack of another electric terrain source. Without his ex role, ur gonna have to grab his MAX conductivity tile or electric terrain mp refresh and sacrifice some tiles for his sync.

During some of attempts at Thorton's Ultimate Battle I almost ran out of Electric Terrain. I get why people wanted other roles for him but as you said Red can now just completely skip on Max Conductivity. Weither it's worth the Cake investment I can't judge yet but considering the only other option for now is Nate, it's tempting to say the least. Gonna give it a datamine and then drop the cake on the returning Rat.
