This song has helped me so much over the last few weeks. Today I realised how much I idolize wanting to be perfect in so many ways and create idols to be that perfect person. This song reminds me that I do not have to be perfect and trust in a job or money or status. I just have to trust in the blood of Jesus and his great love for me. It really is the cure for everything.
You're not alone! I get so wrapped up in dieting perfectly (LOL!) and my looks (should I cover my flaws or renounce makeup altogether because it really is vanity and a waste of money?), being the perfect wife (a never ending torrent of people pleasing), teacher (am I enough?) and child of God (Does he really love me? Am I really His?). I could go on and on of course! I am perfect in none of it, but God is perfect and it is He who sees me as perfectly finished in Heaven and "calls those things which are not as though they are." He sees my perfection in His finished work, not in my own works. That is where my value and worth lies, in my Redeemer, and now my perfection IS finished in HIM alone, not in myself. My word for the year has been grace and God has taught me so much about His grace for my striving so that my soul can have peace and rest. It is when I stop striving that I am free. This song says it more eloquently than I could ever say it. His grace, His Word, knowing Him intimately really is the cure as you said, for every anxiety.

I was recently introduced to Getty worship. As a biblist, I was absolutely blown away by the solid Biblical Christ centered lyrics of their songs. Lovely melody, I could listen to their songs all day long!

YOU SAW them working long and laboring hard to receive justification by grace even though YOU stated, "This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent."(John 6:29 KJV) YOU SAW the unwillingness to accept YOUR PLAN OF SALVATION THROUGH YOUR SON JESUS CHRIST. YOU SAW them living with the guilt of committing crimes to the heart. YOU SAW them enduring personal crisis. YOU SAW the weight of the burden on their hearts with each tribulation. YOU SAW them seeking comfort from the above mentioned topography, ONE OF THE MANY MARVELS YOUR PERFECT HANDS HAVE MADE. 👏👏👏 YOU SAW their worries about tomorrow.
If their hearts were a window that they could look through, oh the pains and scars they would see. What a cruel fate the skin gives as a mask to the inward pain. But the skin couldn’t cover THE SUFFERING YOUR ONE AND ONLY SON BORED on the cross as PAYMENT for all our sins because HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ALONE HAD THE MERIT TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF YOUR HOLINESS. Indeed, ONLY HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS IS SUFFICIENT TO SAVE us from this present evil world as evidenced by Mary's song of praise. "And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour." (Luke 1:46-47 KJV) Awesome thanks to YOUR GREAT PARDON for being easy on the heart. 🥰
They have seen a lot of crazy things done in YOUR NAME. For example, the father of lies futile attempts to make crooked the right ways of the LORD to turn people away from faith in the WORKS OF JESUS CHRIST ALONE. How can anyone bear the thought of his or her life story detracting from the GLORY AND HONOR KNOWN TO BELONG TO CHRIST ALONE? As a consequence, YOU ARE A MYSTERY OF GREAT MYSTERY to them. Despite this conviction, YOU ARE MINDFUL of them as evidenced by the fact that YOUR JUDGEMENT is not speedy, allowing them to pursue the desires of the flesh.
They are aware of hypocrisy in religious assemblies that like to be seen and heard. In addition, secular education teaches that there is no right and wrong, if GOD exists there is no way of relating to HIM, and moral standards shift according to the whims of fashion. Therefore, their minds are conditioned to question everything this world has to offer including “THY POWER THROUGHOUT THE UNIVERSE DISPLAYED.” They have accepted the heavy burden of dealing with the troubles of this life and seek to know another way, YOU THE GREAT COMFORTER TO ALL who did receive YOU as their personal SAVIOR. Still, YOU have shown them NEW MERCY every day with each thought they make and each breath they take.
Unfortunately, like the prodigal son, we are all guilty of wandering far from YOU LORD because the negative experiences of our lives tend to build roadblocks to the TRUTH. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST HELP them to identify the way, truth, and eternal life (that is YOU). Since to know and follow your SPIRIT is more exciting than any 007 movies, and YOU DELIGHT MAKING the ordinary into extraordinary. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST MAKE them understand that there is no way around YOUR TRUTH, and that there is something about YOUR NAME. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST HELP them defeat in their minds what is false in YOUR EYES.
LORD GUIDE their thoughts to know that the path of sin is hard on their hearts for the purpose of crying out to YOU to know the joy, peace of having the heavy burden LIFTED by THE GOD OF PEACE I AM, and ANCHOR their souls in THE HAVEN OF REST. In other words, LORD use the storms in their lives to get a hold of them to trust YOU and believe. In truth, YOU ARE THE JOY that seekest them through pain.
LORD HELP their fainting hearts to believe that YOU, who was slain on the cross over 2000 years ago has the POWER TO CHANGE lives today through the INSTANTANEOUS GREAT FAVOR from GOD to the house of Israel made known in believers by YOU to make YOUR NAME EVERLASTING. 🥰 For as the statue liberates the citizens so the cross liberates the soul. ONLY YOU can calm the trouble waters of the mind when one admits to wanting salvation from one’s sinful nature, JESUS IS LORD, and believes in the heart that GOD RAISED HIM from the dead TO LIFT the heavy burden of sin's guilt away from the heart in accordance to YOUR WORD found in Psalm 51:1-10 KJV. 👏👏👏👏👏👏 O, the wonder of it all to experience within the flesh the feeling of a tree being cut back/pruned in order for it to grow stronger and more beautiful after meditating on the words of said Psalm. 🥰🙌

Creation sings the rebirth song for them yearly, through YOUR PROMISE of springtime, giving rise to the idea that by the mention of YOUR NAME flowers grow, and the desert blooms again. 🥰
LORD GUIDE their understanding of words to use to come into YOUR PRESENCE with an honest reverence of WHO YOU ARE to experience the beauty that time can't erase YOUR WISDOM resting on their faces. LORD STRENGTHEN their determination to never waiver in efforts to search for YOU because the wages of sin is too high for anyone to pay. If one believes faith cannot be forced, YOU WILL GIVE that individual over to the stubborn heart to follow own counsel which will surely fail him or her to the extent that the punishment will last forever found in Psalms 81 NIV. Given this, I pray that YOU WILL MAKE that person see that this feeling is wasted for a world in which we become strangers as we age, gives us thrills instead of peace, aims to solve a problem but creates another, and unrest surges with each passing generation. Shed some light into their broken hearts for YOU ARE THE GREAT JEHOVAH, THE GOD THAT HEALETH thee.
Lastly, LORD when they call on YOU in earnest prayer to come into their hearts to be born again (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life), I pray that YOU WILL GIVE them the blessed assurance of their salvation because nothing breaks YOUR HEART, or tears YOU apart like when they cry from the trials of the devil who comes to slander, falsely accuse, steal, kill & destroy. Only by drawing nearer to YOU LORD will put them on a path to a glorious one way trip winding upward to YOU where pain is not welcome because the heart will never break anymore. For ONLY YOU UNDERSTANDS our tears since YOU LOOK at the heart, while humans look at the flesh.
O LOVE that will not let them go. When they don't have the strength to try, and have cried all they can cry hear their hearts that need YOU more today than yesterday. Many thanks LORD for speaking TRUTH in our lives TO BLESS those who are not offended by THEE. LET YOUR WILL BE DONE because YOUR LOVE ALONE CONQUERS everything by WAITING for them to cease struggling, and finally surrender to YOUR EMBRACE to learn about YOUR LOVE AND PROMISE TO TAKE CARE of your children exquisitely. 🥰 Since... I have fallen to sin and the failures haunt me and tempt me to believe that in my choice of sin, I have forsaken Him. While I am prone to leave the God I love, He lifts my head from shame to show me the unworthiness is what my Lord and King came to rescue me from. I cannot bear the trials in this life alone. Thanks be to Christ that He is a Redeemer Savior. Truly, my soul rests in Him alone. He has offered a redemption that I cannot live without. He is merciful behind measure. He NEVER forsakes His own!! In him! You do have it all! To whom does this belong? To everyone! Christ died for us while we were yet sinners, the redemption from Gods side is already finished! Your sins are ereased, nailed to the cross, on one day his blood was poured out for your sins. Its a tradegy that world does not know what has happend, the history of humans race. The world does not know that that it once and for all already have been redeemed, bought, free, saved from all sins, death and the devil. Just as it once had fallen. Look: this, forgivness of sins, belongs to every man, good or bad, beliveing or unbeliveing. You may be in any kind of condition. Anyway, your sins are atleast ereased, thrown to the bottom of the ocean. This happend in the hour Christ died for you. Are you condemed its not becames of your sins, but because you stay away from Christ. If you want to come to God, be his own, and have his grace, there is nothing in the way from God's side. You are always welcome. The lord say: the one that comes to me, I will never cast out!! Anyone, that wants, each and everyone, though your sins may be red as blood! Here noone is left away, and that is because of that the quilt of sins already has been paid, and this redemeption was, and is to this day for the whole world!
That does also mean that every sin you have done, after you became his, he knew about it all. Peter denied him three times! He denied the life himself, he was even worse then judas, but he came to Jesus, he just could not bare life without him! He had nothing to bring, but that is the secret. Jesus can only help the once that can't help themselves. Sin, real sins, sickness, brokeness, running away, forgetting, even coldness, unbelief.. you name it, is never any hinder for Jesus.

I’d like to thank the artists and musicians who made this song. It is beautiful. I’ve just recently been introduced to this song by my praise band leader at my church. I love this song. My favorite line in the song is in the last verse. It states “Two wonders here that I confess. My worth and my unworthiness.” I think this line perfectly encapsulates the entirety of Christianity. We know that we are unworthy to enter the Kingdom of God because of our sin, but through Jesus Christ taking away our sin, we are able to gain worth in the world and in heaven.
Please pray for me brothers and sisters. The Lord has blessed me with more recently here on earth. But I want to use it for His glory, not be swept away from Him by it, and to use it to draw others righteously to Him only. Thank you

When it comes to contemporary Christian music, Stuart Townsend and The Getty's are of exceptionally high Biblical soundness. Other contemporaries, who use repetitious lyrics, don't even come close. I love, love, love these people. And I love the additional Celtic sound. Oh, and I love that Irish coastline, too! One of God's most beautiful creations, and I have ancestral roots there, so okay, maybe I'm playing favorites. :)

That's saying something since John MacArthur is President of the Seminary, and he has a very high standard regarding worship music. The sudden death of a young sister in Christ brought me here. We are frail. We have no strength in flesh and bone, fame, beauty, skill. We cannot boast in anything. Only Christ. And when we die, Christ is our only hope.
And someday in the not too distant future, death will be swallowed up in victory. Only the believer in Christ can rejoice through tears.

To the afflicted ones I would say, be of good comfort in the hope of the resurrection morning. The waters of which you have been drinking are as bitter to your taste as were the waters of Marah to the children of Israel in the wilderness, but Jesus can make them so sweet with His love....
God has provided a balm for every wound. There is a balm in Gilead, there is a Physician there. Will you not now as never before study the Scriptures? Seek the Lord for wisdom in every emergency. In every trial plead with Jesus to show you a way out of your troubles, then your eyes will be opened to behold the remedy and to apply to your case the healing promises that have been recorded in His Word. In this way the enemy will find no place to lead you into mourning and unbelief, but instead you will have faith and hope and courage in the Lord. The Holy Spirit will give you clear discernment that you may see and appropriate every blessing that will act as an antidote to grief, as a branch of healing to every draught of bitterness that is placed to your lips. Every draught of bitterness will be mingled with the love of Jesus, and in place of complaining of the bitterness, you will realize that Jesus’ love and grace are so mingled with sorrow that it has been turned into subdued, holy, sanctified joy.
When Henry White, our eldest son, lay dying, he said, “A bed of pain is a precious place when we have the presence of Jesus.” When we are obliged to drink of the bitter waters, turn away from the bitter to the precious and the bright. In trial grace can give the human soul assurance, and when we stand at the deathbed and see how the Christian can bear suffering and go through the valley of death, we gather strength ... and we fail not, neither are we discouraged in leading souls to Jesus.

Fernando's music and voice has blessed me over the years. Amazed at this collaboration! Praise the Lord
I used to love sitting at the beach and watching and listening to the waters break and the sunlight dance over the waves.. showing all sorts of colours flicker or walk around the rockpools looking in to see what had been washed into them.. the sun on my skin, the fresh cleanness of the breeze helping to take the sting out.. seeing the glory of God in such simple things and having a heart that was free to enjoy the splendor.. the carefree moments that I did have occasionally which in some ways made them more special because they weren't everyday. So choosing to see the blessing.. through perspective helps. That's when I felt childlike.. the innocence of the day at hand.
No amount of wealth or material possessions can come even close to that. I remember when a child we made a car castle by digging into the sand and it could be sat in. Mum told us how to do it while dad went fishing further away. We were always told we were so loud we'd scare the fish which was possibly true.
That word "wellspring"... Such amazing sweetness to the ears and soul! So seldom used in our day, but a wealth of meaning. Truly, my soul is satisfied in Him ALONE.
Yahweh gave us "WellSpring" for the church our family planted in 2006. We agree completely with everything you shared!

Don't give up! God is a loving Father and He desires a relationship with you! Maybe just stop trying. I read the other day "it is not try, but trust. It is not do, but done. Our God has planned for us, great victory through His Son." Jesus, when He was on the cross, the last words He said were, "It is finished" that means the price is paid in full! The work for our salvation has already been completed, there is nothing that we must do except, in faith, come to Jesus, not trying, but trusting in His work that He has already completed. He knew that we could not pay the price for our sin. So He did it. God is so good to us! Just think of His love for us, that He has made it possible for us to come to Him, a holy God, and all we have to do is trust in Him!
I encourage you to keep seeking after Him! Don't try anymore, just open His word, the Bible, and ask God to reveal Himself to you. Read Titus 3:4,5. Romans10:9,10.
God loves you and I believe He is drawing you closer to Him. Just be drawn by Him.

Thank you K&K for writing quality new hymns. I have been trying to quantify what constitutes a hymn and it is somewhat elusive as it is one of those things that you just sense but I have come up with a few criteria that help distinguish them for me.
1. It must have a certain amount of theological depth and be biblical.
2. It must be of a character that facilitates part singing (God made four vocal ranges and all four need to be able to participate). One or two parts is fine for a campfire song but as a hymn not so much.
3. It should be self contained enough to work well a cappella. If you need instruments to make it whole then IMO it is too much of a performance piece. It is fine if instruments enhance but if there is no foundation without the electric bass or trap set it fails.
3. The music and lyrics must be coherent in that they both are sending the same message rather than contradicting each other. (See Handel's Messiah for examples of excellent coherence).
I am sure there are other characteristics as well but that seems like a good start.
