I have had a tremendously difficult path in life... from in the womb to age 39... I was premature... 2lbs 3oz.. a Crack addicted baby, my birth mother had her own trama... and allowed me to be severely assaulted at the age of 5... that was just the start.. I was assaulted numerous times since then..put in foster care at 8 for 5 and 1/2 years... adopted at age 13... and then it's been one trama after another since then... then at 18 I began to cause my own pain and trama in my life.... I became an addict, I lost EVERYTHING... including my children... November 2022 I finally quit blaming God for my pain, for my trama, and realized even tho he didn't deliver me from the horrific situations ... but he did SAVE MY LIFE TIME AND TIME AGAIN. Thank You Lord for opening my eyes. Thank you for your mercy and grace. For your love.
Praise God for your deliverance. I had to face some stuff young in life that led me to alcoholism but God delivered me from addiction 10 years ago. Never looked back. He is my friend and my comforter. Walking through uncertainty now and I know he has already gone ahead of me. I don’t have to walk alone and neither do you. Praise Jesus. You inspire me. So happy you know the love of God and I am sorry you have to walk through such horrific tragedy in your young life. Always lean into Jesus. When you gave your life to Jesus I know all of heaven rejoiced! Your life is so precious to God. God bless you and keep you.
I am so sorry you have had to face so very many difficulties. I pray the Lord will, in the fullness of time, give you so muchore than you have lost. We have a redeeming God who makes all things new. I pray you will know his love and care for you deep in your being. May he bless you and keep you and your children every moment and every day of your life. Suffering like yours is such a mystery but one day everything will be made clear. I think He is saying 'Take heart little one, I know you' Godbless x
My heart bleeds for all your pain! I’m soo sorry! Ohhh what joy to know that the LORD has drawn you to HIMSELF and that HE WILL HOLD YOU FAST!! Stay close to HIM!! “His nearness is your good!” And HE LOVES YOU SO!!!
So so sad..my heart aches at your story.i know for a fact that wat our mothers do to us abusively will hanut us and affect us for the rest if our lives I pray that you will find forgiveness for your self n ur mum n believe me it's that hardest thing in the world. May God's PEACE N TENDER LOVE REIGN IN YOUR HEART N SOUL
I have been fighting cancer for 2.5 years and in 2 weeks my 17 year old has brain surgery to remove a tumor. I needed to hear this song tonight and join in the choir of people commenting and trusting God in our suffering.
Been diagnosed recently with beginning Alzheimer's. What a comfort to know that HE will hold me fast through this journey and embrace my beloved wife and children.
God bless you. You can write journals to help you remember important events. I take care of a senior with severe dementia and she wrote a book of her important memories. She also did scrapbooks. She reads that book and her books often to help her remember.
@Nanette Levons, Oh, dear sister in Christ! 😱😭 I send my deepest sympathies to you! What a blow! 😖 What a blow! 😖 I pray that despite this deep and searing loss and grief, that you are still sensing His grace in carrying you! 🙏😥❤🙏.
Even though it's been 1½ years since we lost our precious Jackie, I still wake up every single day and whisper words of disbelief in my mind like, "I am the Mom of a daughter who was murdered," or, "It's really true... she's really gone." Saying those words are as automatic for me as drawing breath and, at times, doing both of those things simultaneously ache deeply. For several months after Jackie died, the pain was so engulfing and my heart ached so indescribably that I would lay down at night and think, "Well...I know I won't be alive come the morning. This hurts so much that there is no way my heart is going to be able to continue beating through the night." When I would actually wake up the next morning, I was genuinely surprised that my heart hadn't stopped beating. I would think in disbelief, "How? How on Earth is my heart still beating?!" Day in and day out, that was my first thought of the day when I'd open my eyes in the morning and my last thought before closing my eyes at night. Well, one day I told the Lord how I expected to feel His presence become exceptionally closer now that we've lost Jackie, but I told Him I didn't feel like He was. I told Him I expected some incredible, unfathomable "sign" like a burning bush or loud voice coming from a bright light saying, "Behold, I am with you," but.... no... nothing remotely close to that has happened. However, God, in His compassion, reassured me that He is absolutely much closer as a result of our loss! He told me that the very fact I could still breathe is because He is holding my heart together. The fact that I have never gotten angry with Him is because He alone has secured my faith in Him. The fact that I can laugh and have joy every single day for this past year and a half is because I was being carried every single moment in the mighty arms of God Himself! The fact that I haven't been utterly crushed in mind, body, or soul is only because I am in His grip! Whenever we sing this beautiful song in church now, I resonate with these lyrics so very well. Truly, my God holds me fast. 💕
I am so sorry. May you find Him today, in your lowest depths and know that He has gone lower for us His beloved. "As the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolations also abound by Christ."
I hope someday you read this. We too lost a son, but in a different way. He was found to be a child molestor. The pain was indescribable, but you understand how we felt. We can only now know a small portion of the pain of the blessed savior
I hear scourby reading Isaiah on TH-cam and those words I will carry you in old age have been in my mind of late. No man can pluck us from Jesus. Neither death nor life nor things present.... Jesus is the good shepherd and Carrie's us all the way. He holds the universe and shapes it every day to the pattern he has planned. There are dark threads as well as gold and silver.
@@charlesterrizzi8311 God bless you dear one and your family too. Will be keeping you before the throne. Praise God! He shall save His people from their sins. Matthew 1:21 Pray one for another. James 5:16
First time I heard this song, I cried! I am 6 foot 4 big man, who do never cry. Not at my father's, mother's or sister's funerals. I take no pride in that at all, by the way. However, Amazing Grace, when I was first saved, made me sob every time I heard that grand old hymn for a long while, and this song too first time I heard it, because, for all my physical strength, I can not save myself and only Jesus Christ and His send Comforter too can hold me fast in faith, hope and salvation! God Bless!
Amen! I am walking through the grief of my beloved’s passing and these words bring such comfort. He is the great Comforter and He holds us fast. ❤️❤️❤️
I suffer from severe anxiety and depression. It sometimes feels like the world crumbles around me. I almost thought of doing self-harm. But King Jesus Christ will hold me fast, through the good and the bad.
I'm 17 two years ago was a big problem for me with mental illness, it all got worse and worse til it came to a head in January last year and I was prepared to attempt suicide but the Lord was gracious and I can say I'm free of my depression for the most part now. Things can and will get better for you my friend.
I know exactly what you are feeling. I used to struggle with severe anxiety during my teenage years but God has healed me significantly. There is always hope. Jesus will indeed hold you fast and He is always with you and will never leave you. Will be praying for you! God bless :)
Amen brother. Im going through a similar experience, and all i can say is continue to trust the lord, he will not fail you! Read your bible, and pray. Pray for others too.
My 2 year old daughter listens to this every night as she goes to bed. It's been that way since she was born. It brings so much peace to our family and is a reminder that we serve a great God.
Awesome! Her innermost being has to be at peace every night as she falls asleep. I commend you parents for committing your child to her Heavenly Father. That’s absolutely the best gift you can give your children.
The comfort the Holy Spirit has led the Getty's to describe in this epic song has literally been a lifeline to me - in the wake of losing my dear Sheri, my deepest love & wife of 32 years ! Christ brought us together in 1988 and our 32 years of love & abundant life together was shifted in 2021 when Jesus called her home to Heaven. I NEVER planned to lose my her at just 56, but the liver cancer was irreversible so we parted ways - for now saying not goodbye but "Au Revoir" until we meet again in Christ's presence ! And I KNOW Christ has held her fast - secure & HEALED from all life's fearful blast, sickness & uncertainty. I am mostly healed of grieving 2.5 years after - confident Jesus is holding ME fast, here on Earth, just as He's holding her fast in Heaven. She loved Jesus so in her life - so pure in heart that she inspired me to be faithful through every trial we endured together ! "He WILL hold us FAST.....through Life's fearful blast.....til our faith is turned to SIGHT - til He comes at Last !"
Yes, He holds us fast. My story is nearly identical to the one you have written. My wife of nearly 36 years battled with pancreatic cancer for 3 years, and then 2 weeks with Covid-19. She knew her Savior and that He had her days numbered. She trusted Him. During that time He held us fast. And since her parting at the young age of 58, He has held me fast. Thank you Getty's for your words of truth and comfort for, I'm sure, thousands or millions of grieving people. May the worlds of this song draw those to Him that suffer in this world. Knowing that for eternity, "He will hold me fast"!
I'm so glad to read such great testimonies from fellow brothers in the Lord who trust our Lord with all their hearts, know he holds us fast. Even though I have not been separated from my wife for the time being, I am and have been struggling with what has become a porn addiction. But in God's word and the lyrics of this song, I know that he will hold me fast and that through all the hard times, no matter what, He is here with me and here with us. Please pray that I will completely turn away from this habit and fully cling to Jesus, knowing He already holds me fast. Jonathan H.
@@acaciahanley6594i realize you posted this 6 months ago, however I just now seen it and wanted you to know you have been prayed for! Not only by me but by our Lord and Savior Jesus as I was immediately reminded of the verse He sits at the right hand of God making intercession for you!
@acaciahanley6594 Father, please set our Brother Jonathan completely free from this filthy trash that he is turning away from in His heart. We break its' hold completely!, in Jesus' precious name, Amen! To God be the glory for the Unspeakable Gift of His Son! 🙂
I lost my husband 19 months ago...we had a 51 year life journey and I miss him so much my heart aches. Sometimes I feel we should have completed our life together when he passed because it is so lonely without him. I pray He will hold me fast... Your music is beautiful.
This was the first song to bring some comfort to my heart after the love of my life died after almost 48 years of marriage. That has been 4 years ago this month and still seems like yesterday. God is faithful, but grief just changes, it does not end. My friend Lisa Appelo lost her husband to death years ago and now has a ministry to widows. She told me - It won’t always feel like this. I clung to that and she was right. I will pray for your heart as you walk this different life.
For 6 months my husband has been in hospital. After 40 years of marriage the change was sudden and devastating with psychotic behavior. The only one holding me is God.
Showing compassion for others will immediately bring sensitivity for your situation, too. We need to care for one another. You are not alone. God sends people to you for comfort. I care for you. My struggles have been great also ♡
Have been struggling with faith recently, and have been afraid that I'll fall away. The first verse "When I fear my faith will fail, He will hold me fast." is very encouraging. God is truly a miracle worker.
Emma- its usually in the dark times that the Lord refines us and brings us to a fuller and richer understanding of who He is because often when all is well for us we dont listen. Never give up on Him- He is Way, Truth, Life and you have no where else to go to. God bless you.
Emma Grace God is here for you, and we're here for you too! I pray that you're doing well since you wrote your comment, and that you trust in Jesus to get you through all of your struggles
My daddy committed suicide. No warning. My heart aches tremendously, but God has been holding me fast. This song helps to remind me that God is "a very present help in trouble." (Psalm 46:1)
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. (Flp 4:8-9)"
@jameshowgego1944 I do have good support at my church. Thankfully, I am a grown adult, so I wasn't living at home when this occurred, and I had already made a life of my own. The most helpful things have been God's comfort, the comfort of my sweet husband, godly friends who listen and give wise advice, and lastly, a Christian grief program called Grief Share. God has proven Himself to be true --- He says He is the comforter, and He has proven that He is. I could not do without Him.
I just went through surgery . Despite the prayers of my friends and family and myself, God has allowed me to go through a lot more complications than might have been. Before surgery I kept hearing this song on the radio on different stations and I had never heard before in all my years. God was giving me a comfort, BEFORE the adversity and I am clinging to His Love and provision. Sometimes things don't work out butt He is still good and He is still there.
What a beautiful song. It makes me feel so at peace. It was sent to me by a dear daughter-in-law. I wish everyone in the world could experience the feeling of closeness with our Lord. God’s blessing to you!
I have been in my 9th month since diagnozed with stage 4 pancreatic adenocarcinoma. I am surviving by the grace of God. Many times, in my lowest moments, I sing this song!
This song reminds me of Philippians 1:6 "For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus."
Ruthie Haworth you don’t have to precious one. If you accept Jesus as your savior and confess your a sinner, as we all are, He WILL HOLD YOU and complete the good work He has begun in you !
What an awesome truth in a day of doubt! I'm glad I'm not depending on my works to get me to heaven! Even my faith wavers as a small child somedays. But I'm glad He is holding me fast today!! 🙌🙌🙌🙏🙏
My sister's favourite bible verse. We must never forget despite all our struggles, I'll health, pain, depression, grieving after losing a loved one, emotional problems God is with us. He is only a whisper away.
I thought I was 9 weeks pregnant only to have my fast scan, and the report said I had an empty sac of about 6 weeks. I was so sad, but my God held me fast.
@Frank Jamie ... I'm so very sorry for the loss of your beloved mother. I understand and feel your pain -- lost my mom several years ago to cancer. The Lord loves you and He feels your unspeakable pain and sorrow. You are not alone in your grief, He grieves with you and He will give you the comfort and strength to keep moving forward. Rest assured that if your mother knew and loved the Lord, you will see her again if you remain faithful. God bless you.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🕊️
My heart breaks for the pain I know you're probably still working through. I lost my mom last July to cancer. I am so so sorry dear brother in Christ. May the Lord give you His peace and comfort you through this time. Your mother is no longer in a world of sin and pain, and that is a comforting thought to hold to as well. We have our hope that we will see our loved ones again if they were in Christ as well.
I'm listening to this song because my daughter just got diagnosed with cancer a few hours ago and our pastors wife sent me this song. I'm so grateful for this song right now.
@@lillychambers-go4qz My heart really goes out to you and your daughter during this difficult time. I'm so sorry for what the doctors have said about her diagnosis. I'm just a little over one year since receiving my cancer diagnosis, and I can assure you that the Lord is with you and your daughter. He definitely has a plan and none of what you're going through has caught Him by surprise. This is another opportunity for you to see Him at work in your life and that of your daughter. Cling to God's unchanging hand and remember no matter what that the Lord loves you, and He is with you each and every moment to give you strength, wisdom, and comfort. Do as much research as you can and please don't just take conventional medicine as the only treatment or solution. Let the pastor and trusted elders of your church come together and anoint your daughter, laying hands on her for God's healing. God can heal her all at once or slowly over time until the cancer is all gone. The healing process and however He chooses to work is up to Him and for His glory. I'm praying for you and your daughter, and will join my prayers with yours as you pray for her. Also, please listen to "Just a Prayer Away" by Yolanda Adams, and "He's Concerned" by CeCe Winans. I hope they will encourage and uplift you and your daughter, as they continue to do for me. God bless you.🕊️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼💕
I am doing PhD and about to finish my research.. I was so anxious and tensed.... TH-cam algorithm gave this song suggestion...and trust me..am soo peaceful now... Praise the lord ✨
My wife of 60yrs died of cancer of he oesophagus. On the morning she died I played this and we tries to sing together. They'll Isang 'He will hold you fast'. That was a great comfort to me
Me either, I listen to it almost everyday now as time draws near to going HOME to be with my ABBA Father!!! I long for the day so deeply anymore. To feel His arms around me and welcoming me HOME at last.
So sorry to hear that Serge. I lost my brother yesterday. We sung this song at church last Sunday and it’s a comfort to me to listen to it hear again. Praying you continue to find comfort in these words also.
Roxanne Albao May God Almighty fill your loneliness with joy and peace. Remember Christ has promised to never leave you or forsake. I pray that your faith will not fail and you hang on to hope
This was the favorite song of 6 year old Lucy, from Maine. She was killed by a badmition racket that broke off the racket from a downward stroke. It pierced her skull and went into her brain, and she died a few days later. 😢 Google it! The article is ABC News. Then, read his blog. There is a link in the article. I was so touched by this family! May God bless them and continue to grant them peace! 🕊 R.I.H. (heaven) LUCY! 🕊
I am a church planter. This song is a help to me, because it reminds that the Lord will hold me fast, as I am doing hi will. It has been a tremendous trial trying to raise enough support. However, I know God called me, and I know he will see it through. On July 21, 2024, there will be a new church in West Sacramento, CA
The Apostle Paul knows the trials and troubles in what God leads you to do. We need each other as the Body of Christ to give glory to God.Suffering is made easier with Christ, for we are His, and He is the way, the truth, and the life.♡♡♡
I have only just heard this song for the first time today on Songs of Praise. It made me cry, it's so beautiful. I am slowly recovering from cancer and have found so much comfort in hearing this song. Thank you Lord.
Which events can God hold his beloved people through? All of them. Death of a loved one, He is there, death of a marriage, He is there, a child gone a stray, He is there, finding your only child has mental illness, He is there, losing the job you depended on to make a living, He is there, struggling back to your feet, He is there, finding a cancer growing in your body, He is there, taking medical treatment that is more painful than the disease that is threating to kill you, He is there. Being cured, He is there, A second marriage, He is there. Helping to raise children that you did not father, He is there. I mention all these heart breaks and struggles for they are part of my story. Through all these, Jesus held my hand and still leads me today. When the time comes, I have no doubt that when my time here is gone, I will enter heaven and He will be there and I will praise Him forever, for He NEVER left me alone in my sorrow or in the great joy that He gives. Amen
Gandoff2000, this glimpse of your story is inspiring. With your permission I'd like to share what you've posted here with the church family where I serve as a powerful example of what it means to have God hold us fast - not away from suffering, but in it. Thank you for sharing just a sliver of your experience. May the confidence you described here be in your heart again today.
@@markw8848 If it is helpful to you or anyone else, feel free to share this part of my story. Surely. When our suffering can help others to see God's faithfulness as we have witnessed first hand then our suffering is not in vain. Happiness comes and goes in this life but that Joy He gives never dulls. I'm pretty happy. This world can be pretty mean but Jesus never fails. You can know, Joy comes in the morning. Philippians 3:8-10
@Gandoff2000 ... What a beautiful testimony in praise of our precious and loving Savior who promises to never leave us nor forsake us, no matter what we are called to endure in this life. Thank you for all you've shared. It really touched and encouraged my heart, and I have no doubt it will do the same for others who will be moved by your testimony just as I am. God bless you and your family, and thank you again.🙏🏼🕊️
My 15 day old daughter stops crying and falls asleep with this song.. she is hard to sleep! I hope this is part of planting a seed in her, even tho english is not our language.
I must tell you just how, specifically, this song has been an encouragement! My Mom has Parkinson's disease, in a wheel chair, gradually coming closer to being bed ridden. During one of my last visits her head was hung down low and had been that way for some time. I thought how can I encourage her! This song came to mind. I was so thankful for my son being with me, I asked him to find this song and play it for her, I held it up to her ear and as the words were heard and began to sink in, her head slowly rose to looking up, as though pondering and drinking in these words of hope!!! Thank you, thank you and above all I thank the Lord for this beautiful gift of music and its use to lift weary, worn, sick individuals to remember Christ and the hope we have in Himt!!!! - Debbie
During her 28 month battle with cancer, my wife of 45 years always found comfort and strength when listening to this beautiful song of faith. She passed away in March in my arms as the digital clock said 8:28. I miss her so much. Whenever I visit her grave, I make sure to play this song. Do you think she knows?
I am mourning with you Paul. These afflictions are only temporary but when you arrive, you can ask her in person. I hope you have trusted on Jesus Christ. He lived the perfect sinless life for you and, even though was the only innocent person who would ever live, He paid the price for your sins so you wouldn't have to. This brings peace between God and us so that we can be with Him forever. Trust in Christ. He rose from the dead to show us that all that was spoken of Him was true. All that He said He would do is true. I'm praying for you Paul, that if you don't know Him your eyes will be opened and if you do, maybe someone else will read this and they will be saved. God's blessings to you.
My darling boy died by suicide just over 15 months ago, my 15 yr old grandson has shut down and not talking, this past week I've lost two loved ones. I said to God when I lost my boy, "I need you to carry me " He has 🙌 Especially when I don't feel He is.
I lost both my parents within 4 months. They both lived their lives honoring God and loved Him. Knowing they are at home with our heavenly Father is a great comfort. My daughter sent me this video just now. It's a beautiful song that comforts me and fills the place in my heart. God does hold me fast! Thank you Holly! A beautiful share.
I had been struggling with belief for a season and was even tempted to abandon the faith, but through it all God has held me fast even when I felt like slipping away. When my faith fails He remains faithful and will carry me to the end. He was and is so patient, merciful and gracious, oh how wonderful the LORD is. “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6 ESV
I have stumbled so many times in my life and faltered, but through his grace he has always been there and never deserted me. He pulled me out of the darkness back into the light. Through Jesus my Lord and saviour I will follow for I am not good and never will be. Only christ is 🙏🕊️
Dear David, I think the goodness or badness is not the question, but one of worth and value. Jesus, according to the Gospels, was made a ransom to buy us back from destruction. If you had a child abducted and they wanted a million dollars for the safe return, what would be worth more to you as a father, the million or your child? The answer is obvious, the child. So, God your father viewed Jesus ,the ransom WORTH LESS than you and you were viewed as greater worth than He. This is the unspeakable love and humility of God for YOU my brother. Thomas
"He'll not let my soul be lost. His promises shall last. Bought by Him at such a cost. He will hold me fast." Amidst a turbulent world, where temptations and sin abound, it's easy to be overwhelmed. Thank God that He holds his children fast.
Soldiers of Christ, keep walking with him. The better is yet to come. Jesus with all his angels will come back soon and sin will disappear. I'm praying for you. Certainly : he will hold you fast.
“When I fear my faith will fail Christ will hold me fast When the tempter would prevail He will hold me fast I could never keep my hold Through life’s fearful path For my love is often cold He must hold me fast Chorus: He will hold me fast He will hold me fast For my Savior loves me so He will hold me fast Those He saves are His delight Christ will hold me fast Precious in His holy sight He will hold me fast He’ll not let my soul be lost His promises shall last Bought by Him at such a cost He will hold me fast CHORUS For my life He bled and died Christ will hold me fast Justice has been satisfied He will hold me fast Raised with Him to endless life He will hold me fast Till our faith is turned to sight When he comes at last
_Edited April 2, 2024_ I suffer from OCD, a chemical imbalance sending me periodically into fight or flight, which I am convinced my thorn in the flesh (2 Cor 12:7-10) takes advantage of. With lying thoughts against God (thoughts, images or suggestions I vehemently object to) and accusations aimed at me flood or bounce around my mind, causing me great agony. My relationship with Christ means EVERYTHING to me; nothing in this world is worth losing Him or never having had Him to begin with; the very thought fills me with dread. This affliction I suffer greatly and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. But this song reminds me of John 10: "My sheep know My voice. I know them and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall anyone snatch them from My hand." And Romans 8: "For I am convinced that neither living nor dying, angels nor principalities, things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height or depth, nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus." Even- no... ESPECIALLY in our storms, Christ is with us, holding us. And, from the moment we first believe, nothing can snatch us from Him, not even a mental imbalance. He remains faithful. For right now, my affliction is a reminder that this broken world is not my home. I await the day when Jesus comes at last to bring us home, and my faith will be sight, however long I have to suffer in the meantime.
Dear in Christ, I suffer from OCD too. And I totally relate to you, the struggle that you go through everyday. There were times I feel like giving up but God is faithful, He sees and hears our silent tears and He understands our struggles. May the Lord strengthen you!
Show me the science papers, that proves the chemical imbalance behind ANY so-called mental illness, and good luck to you! That is the problem of today: People blindly in "science so-called", but have little to none faith in the word of God. I am not patronizing you in your struggle, by the way, but you look for the explanation and help in the wrong place: This antichrist world got nothing to offer you. The thoughts you can defeat by declaring victory over it in the name and blood of Jesus Christ! Try it!
hey imacuser, I can relate as I to have OCD. Each day is exhausting. iv been saved but in the OCD i fall into doubting im saved because being saved and having Jesus is the most important thing to me and thats what OCD tends to focus on. john 10:28 has helped me to. Remember 2 corinthains 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. God can use what your going through for good and to help and encourage others.
Even though I am 12 I have done really bad sins which lead me through really bad ways a..and I couldn't forget it and Satan never let me go but Jesus Christ my almighty has saved me from a dreadful life and this song thought me that he Will hold me fast before any bad things comes to me
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made is alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you gave been saved. (Ephesians 2 v 1-5
@💙Evelyn G.G💙, to be 12 years old, and having done what you think are very bad sins, you likely had to have been coerced in some fashion. When Christ died on the cross, He died for all the reasons and circumstances that have played a part in the sin that you did! In other words, if you have been saved, His death covered ALL of your sins, even the ones of which you references earlier! You may need a trauma therapist to help you process these sins. Good theological teaching will also help you experience more forgiveness. "Way of Grace Bible Church" is an app that has excellent sermons to teach you about the amazimg nature of what Christ ACCOMPLISHED FOR you!! Download this app from Playstore or The App Store. It will bless you! I hope this helps!
We used to sing the same hymn 40+ years ago in a small church in Oakland,California. I can only find it in one old hymnbook. So very grateful that this hymn has been given new life. Thank God for each of these brothers and sisters who bring this incredible music to us.
The only blood transfusion that is comparable with all blood types! No matter what the genetics say, the blood of Christ is comparable to all, for healing, covering, and forgiveness of sin!
Thank you for this song - Yes, i know that He is holding me fast - my mom has dementia and is failing fast, my husband’s health is failing fast, but still I have a Savior that is holding them fast and the peace that only He gives overflows me as I sit at Jesus’s feet and crying tears and still knowing He has them and is holding them fast. Thank you and Praise you O Lord.
On Sunday November 18,2018 at 8:30 AM My Mother passed away! I listen to this song everyday since she has passed because it reminds me that Jesus will hold me and keep me! People ask me how can you be so strong? Really I am not that strong I cry like a baby pretty much everyday but Jesus holds me keeps me together. Jesus is my strength. I have the strength to get up everyday to go to work and do normal day to day stuff because Jesus strengthens me
@Alexis Neal, Wow. I hope this reaches you. In deepest sympathy, I send my condolences to you in the loss of your precious and beloved Mother. I pray that you are still being upheld by the Lord of all comfort, and that you,are experiencing His provision for you, esespecially during COVID-19 and the racial strife that was launched last month. May He shield you, from both of these messes.
I cry every time I see or hear this hymn. I first heard it during the pandemic during early 2021 when our church choir sang it during the livestreamed service. My mother was on her deathbed at the time (she passed away just two days later). What a comfort to know that - no matter what the storm - that our Savior will hold us fast!
Knowing He will hold me fast in this time of uncertainty and complete struggle. I trust that He will hold me fast! I need prayer ☹️😔 struggling very badly with a lot 😔💔
Please pray for our family we need divine intervention. We are in a HARD place we need peace, physical healing and wisdom. Please pray that the LORD JESUS will give healing I truly believe he can heal.
I first discovered this worship song I a service I took part in a few years ago at my local methodist church. Having recently discovered I have been masking anxiety (and now depression) on and off since childhood, and now almost daily since catching a chest infection a couple of years ago, I am really appreciating the words of this worship song more than ever. May it sustain all who are struggling at this time. ❤
My precious husband got Covid in January…we thought he was over it after acouple of weeks , as I had also gotten it. But in February he wasn’t recovering with sleepless nights that went into months … it’s August and his his doctor is referring him to a long-Covid clinic… thank you for this beautiful song .. to remind me/us, He IS holding me fast!”
This is such a beautiful and anointed song. It’s a true blessing to find a song that actually has the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Savior said in the lyrics. You lovingly, gently, yet boldly called on the name of Christ in praise and worship, not just calling our precious Savior He or Him. Thank you for this song. God bless you to keep writing songs that lift up the name of Jesus Christ 🙌🏻🙏🏼♥️
Please pray for 21 H I'll only put her the first letter of her name.she is addicted to heroin and does not want help from us, I know it's the evil one speaking through the drugs , our hope in in the Lord our God Almighty! ✝️💜🙏🙌
I am in Canada and every week more evil is revealed. Our freedoms are hanging by a thread and I am so discouraged. I don't feel like I can get out of bed today. Praying for strength from Him today and that the truths of this song will spur me on.
😢 🙏🏻 Someone Greater There’s a battle happening all around us-a battle for your heart, your mind, and your soul. A battle that’s not only physical, but also spiritual. A battle with literal enemies who impact the seen and unseen world. John wrote: “But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.” 1 John 4:4 NLT Yes, we are in a real battle. Yes, we have a real enemy. Yes, the kingdom of darkness is constantly fighting against the kingdom of light. But for those who are trusting in the finished work of Christ, greater is the One living inside of us than the one who is living in this world. We have a real Savior. This story isn’t close to over. The kingdom of darkness will never prevail against the kingdom of light. Our enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. To pervert, manipulate, and confuse, distract, divide, and disable. But God is greater than the doubts that clutter your mind, the enemies that frustrate your plans, the heart-wrenching and even soul-crushing situation that’s currently consuming your thoughts. You can fight from a place of victory because the battle has already been won. Jesus has already conquered death. And now, while we wait for others to come to salvation and for God to bring all things to completion under Christ’s authority, we can fight with a confident hope. There’s a battle happening all around us-a battle for your heart, for your mind, for your soul. But greater is the One living inside of you than the one who is living in this world.
Keep the faith. Here in America, we hear of freedoms being taken in Canada. America is going in the same direction ( seems like Canada is much worse though) remember the three men in the fire in Daniel,Christ was the fourth.
I've been going thru some very hard times for a long time now. Today, the words to this song kept coming to my mind, but the words were, "He will see me through. He will see me through. For my Savior loves me so. He will see me through."
We are going through a time when things sre changing so quickly. We are in process of selling our home and looking for somewhere to live. So much is up in the air. It is very unsettling but I am comforted by this song. Thank you Lord. You will never forsake Your own.🙏🏽😌🙏🏽
7 a.m. I love the truth of Christ in this testimony. And I ow else would we know and experience it if it weren't for all the hard and heart breaking experiences we all must face in life. Another encouraging song of Christ loving commitment like this just came to mind " What a friend we have in Jesus" He has been with and carried me through so much in life.. parents death, unfaithful husband that left me with 3 children with 2 weeks notice and no $$$. BUT was just newly saved!! He provided me with dependable loving family in Christ..And 4 jobs to support us. My children are all adults and know Christ as Savior. The oldest a pastor and author of 6 books about old testament and teaches theology to graduate students. If Christ didn't " hold us fast during all this heart ache we wouldn't know Him and how He suffered and died for us .. His father held Him fast!!. Praise God for seeing the depth of His love in our heart aches that allow us opportunity to come along side of others to share Christ and His salvation of love. He holds us fast because we can easily be discouraged and slip away. Thank you dear sweet friend in Christ who lives and Discipled me with God's truth for years in her home and is a blessing still. Amen & Amen
I watched my mother, I know and I know Christ Jesus, was with her on her Journey Home ,in his loving arms. Fear Not " for I am with you " Amen ❤🕎❤️🔥✝️🛐♥️❤️🫂
I’m so sorry you’re struggling but you are never beyond God’s grip, he never lets go even when we do. His grace and mercy never fail. He’s truly holding us even when we forget or don’t feel it. ❤️
So much pain and tears here below. It moves me so. Imagine how Father is moved. He is always for us. Rejoices beloved, He is coming soon and for now, those that have passed away im Him past from death to life instantaneously and they are now in a better place. They are missed and the hurt remains but continue to look to Jesus. Hold Him Fast too...
As I was studying the word of the Lord today, I came across this peaceful but so powerful piece and I was blessed by it. I want to say thank you so much for availing yourselves to be used by God to bless us.
Simply Beautiful :0) I can not wait until my Faith becomes my Sight, when He comes at last in the sky to take me to The Place that He has prepared for me because I love Him and He loves me and I will forever dwell with Him ... What A Glorious Day That Day Is Going To Be!!! Maranatha!!! :0)
And we shall see his face book of revelation last chapter says. We see through a glass darkly at present but time goes so fast soon the good day will dawn
Please pray for me I see a surgeon for a problem I am scared to death, nervous, anxious cannot sleep I need peace so I can take care of my family. I have asked for healing or successful surgery and recovery. Thank you
I needed to hear this tonight a friend sent it to me AND GOD KNEW I NEEDED TO HEAR IT I AM STRUGGLING WITH ALOT OF ISSUSES AND HE IS HOLDING ME FAST UNDER HIS FAITHFUL WINGS GOD BLESS YOU HE HOLDS ME FAST 🙏🏼❤😪
When my son died back in 10/21 I sang the chorus to this song every moment. It kept me going and focused on the Lord. God inspired. Thank you Gettys for allowing the Lord to write the song.
My deepest condolences to you and your family 🕊️. Let's be strong everyday, so that we can motivate ourselves to become happy and praise God in every kind of situation 🙏
I live n my car; I purch a used CD just to hear this song; I play it ovr and ovr; can’t get enough of it! Some days, I’m so blessed to b reminded that He will hold me fast!! 🌲🎄🎅🏻
The last 2 weeks i feel weak and not good anough the amount ive cried i always remember this song i heard once in church a long time ago and im in love with it and i always know Jesus and God are at each side of me ❤️
Psalm 139:10 - Thank you dear Jehovah God for holding each of us steadfastly and faithfully 🔥even when we let go so so so many times 😓- Help us to come right back to you!! 💯 and to the Getty's - God bless you for performing and sharing this song 🤗
A man at our church, Gregg Tabbutt, helped introduce this hymn to us a year or so ago, and it has quickly become one that I love. It is running through my heart at this very time, as my family undergoes the most severe trial we've ever faced, yet we know that God will hold us fast. Amen.
I am thankful and appreciate all the comments, the prayers and encouragements I have received over this past year since my parents passed away. The Lord has certainly held me in His arms of love and kept me and just brought so much my way. He is so faithful!!!
This is such a blessing especially where it says ‘For my love is often cold’. Sometimes I find myself hardened to the truth, cold towards God and others and even myself. Thankfully I am out of that now.. but during those times I feel even more unworthy because of all that God has done for me. Praise God that He holds us fast, Praise the King who is also our keeper! What a great God we have 😬❤️ I hope this encourages someone!
It has been a month ago since God have slightly tapped my back. It was 2 sleepless nights of sorrow and everyday a feeling of emptiness inside. Admitting that i have forgotten God, He reminded me of His presence in the most unexpected time. Now i return to Him as i gradually heal. I realize God has been with me all this time and actually, He never left.
We ALL agree and believe "HE will hold me fast!" NO matter comes our way: HE WILL HOLD EACH OF US FAST❣❣❣ BLESSINGS BROTHERS AND SISTERS❣❣ UNTIL WE MEET❣❣❣ bev
I was on a sharing app today where people with chronic diseases go to fellowship and lift one another up. One person on the app mentioned singing this song at church Sunday, and another replied how much she loved it. So, I decided to look it up on youtube and here I am. What a beautiful song! It is so peaceful and calming. Thank you, Jesus, for saving me and holding me fast. May all who need Your comfort tonight receive it through Thy loving hand.
When I fear my faith will fail Christ will hold me fast When the tempter would prevail He will hold me fast I could never keep my hold Through life's fearful path For my love is often cold He must hold me fast He will hold me fast He will hold me fast For my Savior loves me so He will hold me fast Those He saves are His delight Christ will hold me fast Precious in His holy sight He will hold me fast He'll not let my soul be lost His promises shall last Bought by Him at such a cost He will hold me fast For my life He bled and died Christ will hold me fast Justice has been satisfied He will hold me fast Raised with Him to endless life He will hold me fast Till our faith is turned to sight When he comes at last
Yes! i too was shocked to hear the first part...we also, like the hymn "Be Still My Soul", adapted the music from Finlandia for our seminary's hymn (theme song, like that) :D
Your pain may be an arm to reach many. Hold on to Jesus!
So so sad..my heart aches at your story.i know for a fact that wat our mothers do to us abusively will hanut us and affect us for the rest if our lives
I pray that you will find forgiveness for your self n ur mum n believe me it's that hardest thing in the world.

God bless you brother, thanks for sharing! Praying for you and your family.

God bless you. You can write journals to help you remember important events. I take care of a senior with severe dementia and she wrote a book of her important memories. She also did scrapbooks. She reads that book and her books often to help her remember.
Thank you for your good advice.
Thanks for your warm words and prayers!
In a weeks time I have lost both my parents to covid-19 suddenly. This song has been such a comfort to me"He will hold me fast!" thank you .
Nanette Levons praying for you
@Nanette Levons, Oh, dear sister in Christ! 😱😭 I send my deepest sympathies to you! What a blow! 😖 What a blow! 😖
I pray that despite this deep and searing loss and grief, that you are still sensing His grace in carrying you!

Be comforted my sister.
Christ will hold you in his arms. So sorry for your loss
Nanette Levons I am so sorry for your loss. I pray You find comfort and healing through God our Father
God Bless You as He heals your hurting heart ❤.
God Bless!
I love this 🥹❤️ bless you sir

For your Saviour loves you so💗🌟
I'm 17 two years ago was a big problem for me with mental illness, it all got worse and worse til it came to a head in January last year and I was prepared to attempt suicide but the Lord was gracious and I can say I'm free of my depression for the most part now.
Great training dad!
God bless that little darling (and her family) 🔥🙏🌹
Always let listen this Song, is a god train!

I lost my husband 19 months ago...we had a 51 year life journey and I miss him so much my heart aches. Sometimes I feel we should have completed our life together when he passed because it is so lonely without him.
I pray He will hold me fast...
Your music is beautiful.
Praying God's peace dear friend.

Amen sorry for your loss ✝️
So sorry for your loss.
Sorry to hear it. Hope you have bereavement support and church support. 😢
Hi Mary.
Hope this finds you recovering and well.
He will hold you fast. God bless you.
This song reminds me of Philippians 1:6
"For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus."

That was a great comfort to me
Amen. May the Savior bless your steps. The Savior will hold you fast.
God bless you friend.
I am sorry for the suffering before and after.
Love you
Oh how precious!
May He hold you fast as you grieve. ❤️
It took me so long to figure out what the intro tune was. If it’s bugging anyone else it’s “Be Still My Soul” 😊
I cannot hear this without weeping. His love and promises are so wonderful!
It's true same with me I can't hear it with out weeping this song really touched my heart💜❤
Me too.
Me either, I listen to it almost everyday now as time draws near to going HOME to be with my ABBA Father!!! I long for the day so deeply anymore. To feel His arms around me and welcoming me HOME at last.
Someone once said "legends never die, they just stop doing live shows"
Me too.
He will hold me fast Praise God my Lord never sleeps he watches over us every second
This song is such an encouragement to me. Loneliness has often threatened to suffocate all my hope and joy. Many days have been a serious struggle.
Just lost my dad today to cancer. This song has been a huge encouragement. Thank you
Serge Karnaukh sorry to hear that ...Praying that indeed He will hold you and your family through these grieving times 🙏🏾
So sorry to hear that Serge. I lost my brother yesterday. We sung this song at church last Sunday and it’s a comfort to me to listen to it hear again. Praying you continue to find comfort in these words also.
So sorry. I know what that is like. He will hold you fast.
I will keep you in my prayer
Serge, may God bring you comfort during these times of pain.
I'm feeling lonely many times. Thank You Jesus for this reminder that You are holding me fast.

This was the favorite song of 6 year old Lucy, from Maine. She was killed by a badmition racket that broke off the racket from a downward stroke. It pierced her skull and went into her brain, and she died a few days later. 😢
Google it!
Hi greetings from a fellow church planter. I know it is a challenge. Hold on and live one day at a time. Do not sweat the big things. Praying for you.
@@TheTomahawk73 thank you
The Apostle Paul knows the trials and troubles in what God leads you to do. We need each other as the Body of Christ to give glory to God.Suffering is made easier with Christ, for we are His, and He is the way, the truth, and the life.♡♡♡
God bless you brother in Jesus name 🙏✝️💙🙌
He will lift you up, praying for you!!
Thank you for sharing. May God hold you fast all the days of your life & in heaven.
- Debbie
God bless you & your mother ❤
Romans 8:28. All things work together for the good of those who trust jn him

This song was sent to me. Im struggling with my faith and extreme depression and i lost my kid brother 4 months ago and i cant understand it.
I’m struggling too brother. My faith feels so weak. Praying for you
Keep your eyes on Jesus. He will pull you through
I had been struggling with belief for a season and was even tempted to abandon the faith, but through it all God has held me fast even when I felt like slipping away. When my faith fails He remains faithful and will carry me to the end. He was and is so patient, merciful and gracious, oh how wonderful the LORD is.
“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”
Philippians 1:6 ESV
I have stumbled so many times in my life and faltered, but through his grace he has always been there and never deserted me. He pulled me out of the darkness back into the light. Through Jesus my Lord and saviour I will follow for I am not good and never will be. Only christ is 🙏🕊️
Me too!
May gods grace and goodness be with you all the days of your life and dwell in the presences of the lord forevermore.
On 25th September 2020, suddenly I lost my younger brother 😭 God is comforting me
Soldiers of Christ, keep walking with him. The better is yet to come. Jesus with all his angels will come back soon and sin will disappear. I'm praying for you. Certainly : he will hold you fast.
Amen!
“When I fear my faith will fail

For my love is often cold
He must hold me fast
Chorus:
He will hold me fast
He will hold me fast
For my Savior loves me so
He will hold me fast
Those He saves are His delight
Christ will hold me fast
Precious in His holy sight
He will hold me fast
He’ll not let my soul be lost
His promises shall last
Bought by Him at such a cost
He will hold me fast
CHORUS
For my life He bled and died
Christ will hold me fast
Justice has been satisfied
He will hold me fast
Raised with Him to endless life
He will hold me fast
Till our faith is turned to sight
When he comes at last

I suffer from OCD, a chemical imbalance sending me periodically into fight or flight, which I am convinced my thorn in the flesh (2 Cor 12:7-10) takes advantage of. But this song reminds me of John 10:
"My sheep know My voice. I know them and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall anyone snatch them from My hand."
And Romans 8:
"For I am convinced that neither living nor dying, angels nor principalities, things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height or depth, nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus."
Even- no...
God can use what your going through for good and to help and encourage others.
imacuser I saw your minecraft profile picture and I play minecraft alot to, mainly hypixel. if you play hypixel to maybe we could hang out
Even though I am 12 I have done really bad sins which lead me through really bad ways a..and I couldn't forget it and Satan never let me go but Jesus Christ my almighty has saved me from a dreadful life and this song thought me that he Will hold me fast before any bad things comes to me
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.

I have the strength to get up everyday to go to work and do normal day to day stuff because Jesus strengthens me
@Alexis Neal, Wow.
I hope this reaches you. In deepest sympathy, I send my condolences to you in the loss of your precious and beloved Mother. I pray that you are still being upheld by the Lord of all comfort, and that you,are experiencing His provision for you, esespecially during
COVID-19 and the racial strife that was launched last month. May He shield you, from both of these messes.
Having a rough day today and a sis in Christ sent me this link, this song truly blessed my soul.. Thank you my Savior that you hold will me fast.
"For my Savior loves me so, He will hold me fast..." ❤🙌🙇♀️🌷
LORD JESUS please hold us fast we NEED YOU life is hard, unpredictable, and short. YOU are our only hope.

😢 🙏🏻 Someone Greater
There’s a battle happening all around us-a battle for your heart, your mind, and your soul. A battle that’s not only physical, but also spiritual. A battle with literal enemies who impact the seen and unseen world.
John wrote:
“But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.”
1 John 4:4 NLT
Yes, we are in a real battle.
I was feeling really down. This video really comforted me. Christ is holding me fast.
What can separate me from the love of God? nothing. Nothing can separate me from the love of God.
I've been going thru some very hard times for a long time now. Today, the words to this song kept coming to my mind, but the words were, "He will see me through. He will see me through. For my Savior loves me so. He will see me through."
Keep the faith. Remember, the diamond is made through pressure 👑
I couldn't sing, I just listen and let my tears sing
Yes 😭😭😭
I'm the same. Some songs I struggle to hold it together. This is one of them.
We are going through a time when things sre changing so quickly. We are in process of selling our home and looking for somewhere to live. So much is up in the air. It is very unsettling but I am comforted by this song. Thank you Lord. You will never forsake Your own.🙏🏽😌🙏🏽

I love the truth of Christ in this testimony. And I ow else would we know and experience it if it weren't for all the hard and heart breaking experiences we all must face in life.
Another encouraging song of Christ loving commitment like this just came to mind " What a friend we have in Jesus"
He has been with and carried me through so much in life.. parents death, unfaithful husband that left me with 3 children with 2 weeks notice and no $$$.
Fear Not " for I am with you "

A man at our church, Gregg Tabbutt, helped introduce this hymn to us a year or so ago, and it has quickly become one that I love. It is running through my heart at this very time, as my family undergoes the most severe trial we've ever faced, yet we know that God will hold us fast. Amen.
A beautiful song.
I am thankful and appreciate all the comments, the prayers and encouragements I have received over this past year since my parents passed away. The Lord has certainly held me in His arms of love and kept me and just brought so much my way. He is so faithful!!!
Christ will surely hold us fast! Thanks be to God Almighty, Hallelujah! 🙌🏼 Beautiful faith in song, God bless for sharing! 💯
It has. For complex reasons I have not been able to attend a church in years. These comments are amazing! Thank you!

He must hold me fast
He will hold me fast
He will hold me fast
For my Savior loves me so
He will hold me fast
Those He saves are His delight
Christ will hold me fast
Precious in His holy sight
He will hold me fast
He'll not let my soul be lost
His promises shall last
Bought by Him at such a cost
He will hold me fast
For my life He bled and died
Christ will hold me fast
Justice has been satisfied
He will hold me fast
Raised with Him to endless life
He will hold me fast
Till our faith is turned to sight
When he comes at last
Please continue to pray for me concerning health issues
I like the "Be Still My Soul" hymn intro. Such doctrinally rich lyrics. Jesus Christ is so faithful!!!

Yes! i too was shocked to hear the first part...we also, like the hymn "Be Still My Soul", adapted the music from Finlandia for our seminary's hymn (theme song, like that) :D
I think it is actually 'we rest on thee' as the intro?
Thanks I was trying to remember what hymn that was!!
