some of us can relate....my father is still alive. but looking back, there are so many times my parents did without so that I wouldn't have to. I love space. We were poor, sometimes so poor all we would have for lunch for a week or more was 10c ramen packs. But they bought me a telescope. They saved and they worked so that i could look at the stars and dream bigger.

I am a space lover as well, and also because of my father... he's old but still around, and he's the IT tech everyone hopes to never meet, because of course "he knows better" and "he's always right"... still, whenever I go visit my family we end up geeking out about something. I was just down for a cousin's wedding in a beautiful place in Southern Italy, and my dad and I ended up talking about the super-volcanos hiding under the sea level just off-coast that no one in the world cares about even though they'd pretty much explode the world if they erupted. It would be cool for him to see this, but I think that game deserves a special spot for just him. We can all go play it ourselves, but that's something that he deserves to keep as a special moment for him, not tarnished by trolls on the internet or assholes with no lives. Space is interesting because it's something you can look at safely from the earth and just gaze upon it's wonders. The ocean is scary because it's here, it's there, it's everywhere. It's an integral part of of the earth and yet *we barely know what lurks within it*
Say what you may about Space Vs Ocean, but the exact reasons you list the Ocean as scary, for me is what makes it so intriguing and interesting. Plus the more people get into space, the more any real interests I have in it gets driven into a grave. I find it extremely overrated at this point with the whole world constantly hyping it up nonstop.

I feel you. My dad past when I was nearly four, and because of that I never really knew him well. Now the only things I have to remember him by is photos, his coat and his homemade bass an pick. The way life can treat you sometimes feels unfair, but knowing that it was still gonna happen. People pass away and no matter how much we hate it. Its normal for it to happen to all of us

MAN, this hit hard for me. About a month and a half ago, my twin sister had to go through emergency brain surgery (she’s ok, thankfully,) but I had to stay home with my dogs while she was treated in another part of the state hours away with my family. News took days to get back to me, so every night I’d just take a moment and look up at the sky, the stars and the moon and just stare. It really does calm the nerves, but it’s so crazy how something so giant, vast and cold can seem so comforting and embracing. It’s wonderful. Space is so cool.
Mark MIGHT be able to actually afford a trip up once the tourism business starts. To hear this story after having lost my own dad, going through his things and seeing the catalogue of his life like Mark did, I started tearing up, because that's a feeling that resonated with me. It's amazing how much of someone's life you can understand just by seeing the things they keep and how they organize them. It makes you love even the little things that you thought were impractical or silly.
Oh my God this man is one of the most wholesome, selfless, loving, caring, breathing, kindest human beings on this Earth. He gives everything to help other people, and he is just such an amazing human being. He cares so genuinely for everyone, and he is so inspiring to me. I genuinely love Mark, for all he is and all he will be. I am dreading the day he stops posting. I hope he keeps loving and inspiring people everyday to better themselves.

I can relate to Mark so much it scares me... I find space extremely interesting. One simple reason is how vast it is. For comparison: History. Many people are interested in history. Space is so much more vast, and there’s so much we don’t know about space. I started loving space by stargazing. Hours and hours of staring at the sky, day and night. It’s just so interesting. Thinking about space is so calming for me. It’s as if i’m taken to my own world where I can create and dream about whatever i please in space.

Honestly mark, I know this is gonna get lost in the endless void that is the comment section, but I've been a fan of yours for a while, and when I first saw you I thought you were some shallow egotistical a-hole(TH-cam will delete my comment if I say that), but as I've watched your videos, through the screaming and the everlasting yelling, I've grown an appreciation and respect for who you are. I too feel the same way, but for butterflies...when i was little and my grandfather had passed away my mom always told me that he would follow you as a Monarch butterfly....so for years i would see one every once in a while and i would say "mama there is papa!" And it would be magical every time....when my grammy died in hospice about 4 years ago me and my mom went out of town too see all our family and grief...when we came home i saw a butterfly....and it followed me everywhere...instead of being a Monarch it was a silver and red butterfly...those were my Grammys favorite colors....then i said "hello grammy" and as soon as i said that a Monarch landed on a leaf close to me and the silver butterfly....and they flew away together...it was very magical for me to be at rest knowing she was ok

This is probably gonna get lost in the Comment Void, but on the off chance you do see it, I want to say your story really spoke to me. I had a difficult childhood for many reasons including divorced parents and losing a close family member to cancer. For as long as I can remember, I've loved space. I grew up reading complicated, scientific books about it, writing comics about it, and going outside at night to just stare at what I could see of the stars from my urban childhood home (Cincinnati, actually!). Now, I'm in college making art about it. For me space has always been a reminder that no matter what's going on in our lives, and no matter how much it feels like everything is ending, there is still so much out there. So many beautiful and deadly and impossible and just AWESOME things out there. I guess there isn't really much of a point to me saying this, just that hearing this story means a lot to me and you continue to inspire people just by sharing pieces of your life. Thanks.

There's nothing more beautiful to me than the raw creation that is the universe and all of its beautiful complexities. I'm studying to be an artist and my favorite subject that I take depth courses on? Space. Anything and everything that has to do with space. This story is beautiful. I've always had a love for space, but I truly began to understand the vastness and complexity of it after my grandad passed away 3 years ago. Just like you, I layed in my back garden and stared up at the night sky just a few hours after I found out what had happened to him and I realised how insignificant life it, but also how precious. I began to research different galaxies, stars, constellations and nebula's, and tried to find them each night when I got the chance to do so. I really truly connect with this story, and I would like to thank you for sharing it and making me feel a little less alone in my feelings.

Say what you may about Space Vs Ocean, but the exact reasons you list the Ocean as scary, for me is what makes it so intriguing and interesting. MAN, this hit hard for me. About a month and a half ago, my twin sister had to go through emergency brain surgery (she’s ok, thankfully,) but I had to stay home with my dogs while she was treated in another part of the state hours away with my family.
News took days to get back to me, so every night I’d just take a moment and look up at the sky, the stars and the moon and just stare. It really does calm the nerves, but it’s so crazy how something so giant, vast and cold can seem so comforting and embracing. It’s wonderful.

To hear this story after having lost my own dad, going through his things and seeing the catalogue of his life like Mark did, I started tearing up, because that's a feeling that resonated with me. It's amazing how much of someone's life you can understand just by seeing the things they keep and how they organize them. It makes you love even the little things that you thought were impractical or silly.

I can relate to Mark so much it scares me...
I find space extremely interesting. One simple reason is how vast it is. For comparison: History. Many people are interested in history. Space is so much more vast, and there’s so much we don’t know about space.
I started loving space by stargazing. Hours and hours of staring at the sky, day and night. It’s just so interesting. Thinking about space is so calming for me. It’s as if i’m taken to my own world where I can create and dream about whatever i please in space.

Mark...you are a true inspiration. I too feel the same way, but for butterflies...when i was little and my grandfather had passed away my mom always told me that he would follow you as a Monarch butterfly....so for years i would see one every once in a while and i would say "mama there is papa!" And it would be magical every time....when my grammy died in hospice about 4 years ago me and my mom went out of town too see all our family and grief...when we came home i saw a butterfly....and it followed me everywhere...instead of being a Monarch it was a silver and red butterfly...those were my Grammys favorite colors....then i said "hello grammy" and as soon as i said that a Monarch landed on a leaf close to me and the silver butterfly....and they flew away together...it was very magical for me to be at rest knowing she was ok

This is probably gonna get lost in the Comment Void, but on the off chance you do see it, I want to say your story really spoke to me. I had a difficult childhood for many reasons including divorced parents and losing a close family member to cancer. For as long as I can remember, I've loved space. I grew up reading complicated, scientific books about it, writing comics about it, and going outside at night to just stare at what I could see of the stars from my urban childhood home (Cincinnati, actually!). Now, I'm in college making art about it. For me space has always been a reminder that no matter what's going on in our lives, and no matter how much it feels like everything is ending, there is still so much out there. So many beautiful and deadly and impossible and just AWESOME things out there. I guess there isn't really much of a point to me saying this, just that hearing this story means a lot to me and you continue to inspire people just by sharing pieces of your life. Thanks.

ERQ I'm not in the exact same boat as you, but close. The boat next to you then? Anyway, my parents divorced and I almost lost my mom to cancer. I'm also in college and I love to paint space. There's nothing more beautiful to me than the raw creation that is the universe and all of its beautiful complexities. I'm studying to be an artist and my favorite subject that I take depth courses on? Space. Anything and everything that has to do with space. It's so beautiful and listening to Mark's story just fills my heart with joy. Its actually kinda nice to find people from a similar walk of life. ❤️

This story is beautiful. I've always had a love for space, but I truly began to understand the vastness and complexity of it after my grandad passed away 3 years ago. Just like you, I layed in my back garden and stared up at the night sky just a few hours after I found out what had happened to him and I realised how insignificant life it, but also how precious. I began to research different galaxies, stars, constellations and nebula's, and tried to find them each night when I got the chance to do so. I really truly connect with this story, and I would like to thank you for sharing it and making me feel a little less alone in my feelings.
This gives so much meaning to "In space with Markiplier", that I'm even more excited for the release! ♥
