    I have used 7809 to convert 12V DC to 9V Dc for my guitar processor (gadget) but from the output of that guitar processor(gadget), even the volume is at zero level, buzzing noise is continuously coming from the speaker.
    I thought it to be due to jacks and other reasons but it didn't work.
    But when I used the adapter (ready made) it works just fine.
    (& Yes I have matched the polarity too, without which the guitar processor (gadget) wouldn't have turned on)

    I have made 5 volts circuit by using L7805CT TO-3 Package, by 12v input and rectified with bride diode and filter with 470uF 50V cap.
    But the output is showing 15.56 volts at last points.
    Why is this happening?

      @@homemade_101 Actually I connected them oppositeley by using Google images, I was so disappointed.
      I just decided to have a last chance by changing the direction of in and out.
      I was unknown Abou the opposite direction behaviour of the ICs,
      But It worked. I was wrong with first connections, now it's solved. Nd got desire output

    Bro just a doubt , how u determined the amp , cause when there is no resistor in the circuit then it said to have infinite current , so kinda confused please can you help me

      The output is 1.2A

      There is never infinite current as there is always resistance in any circuit. At least until something melts and opens the circuit.

    My input to 7805 is 12 v and 500 mah.. but the 7805 is heating a lot. can anybody please help

      suer 500ma ??... use the 470uf instead of 220uf.
