  • I Found this cooling tower low on water due to water level control not filling properly. The question is why? This cooling tower is controlling the condenser water loop for HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) equipment. I will show you how I troubleshoot and go about this situation. Preventive maintenance is a must!

    Awesome video, EWLC's in towers generally speaking stink.
    Stick with the old school float, they last longer and are less sensitive to poor water quality than EWLC's.

      Thank you!! Haha, I hear you on that. I definitely agree with you. Def more breakdowns on the new technology & they dont make anything like they used! Thanks for watching & the feedback🙂 Sending blessings your way from NYC!

    That particular probe has about 300 volts sensing low ,normal , high levels . 😮Bad chemical control and foaming can fool /foul that sensor . Two problems can cause same issue. Cleaning can temporary help restore function but chemicals must be balanced for permanent solution.

    Wow, you're brave to work on the electrics live with all that metal and water around. I suppose 120 is slightly less scarey than our 240v in the Uk, bet all the same, brave.

    Where does the foam come from in the first place and how do you clean it out where the water is clear and clean ?

    I can’t believe that a mechanical engineer specified the location for that cooling tower. I don’t envy you when you have to service that tower.

    how'd you get the overflow drain to get going like that, did you smack it? What could cause all that foam and dirt? I have not worked on a cooling tower yet.

    I have a question , in the beginning of the video, you say there is a high pressure detected. Which pressure is it exactly because I am a bit confused now as the water levels go down in the water supply from cooling tower

    • @andrewgilbreath1331
      @andrewgilbreath1331 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a complex question. In short high refrigerant pressure in the air-conditioning units. The lack of water means the refrigerant isn't getting cooled therefore not rejecting heat from the condenser and locking out on high head pressure. If that went over your head I'll try to help explain it better.
