what is the typical temperature range of the condenser water, the return cooler water, the ambient air, and the ambient humidity? can these operate at high ambient temperature and humidity? how much water do they lose to atmosphere?
If there is multi cell cooling tower then will there be a separate float valve for each cell or one float valve is enough for multi cell cooling tower?
Where does the water go when it's drained ? Is it reused somewhere or does it just go to the sewer? Also, where does the new, fresh water come from? If the building is connected to the city water supply, is that where the new water comes from? Is that usually connected at the chiller ?

Question that seems very basic here... What is the difference between a cooling tower and a fluid cooler. Working in residential now everyone calls these towers fluid coolers, and that its different than cooling towers in commercial. Any info is appreciated, have not got a complete answer yet.
most have fans on the top but some will use ground mounted fans which sit at the side and blow air inside, these are usually used when the cooling tower would exceed height restrictions for local building regulations so shorter towers are needed
Hi, if the water supply to the cooling tower (specified on the chiller's schematic) is 2000L/h, does that mean that 2000L of warm water are lost to the environment every hour? Is it worth trying to recover somehow? (asking for an academic group project that aims to recover heat/water from a chiller) Thank you..

my building is about 30 yrs old and our bypass is pneumatic but even after watching this i still dont have a full concept of what the need is for the bypass... our pnumatic operations are being slowly phased out and changed to digital but if anybody reading this knows please fill me in

Drain for draining the system for preventive maintenance, float valve for make up water to maintain water level at the basin to prevent air pocketing.

There are many ways to do it, there could be several towers connected together and a pipe running between all to balance the water level too

It goes to the sewer, it comes from the water main. It enters near the pressurisation unit. See our video on chilled water schematics

Hey great video!! I had a doubt though how does the drift eliminator exactly help in condensing the warm air being sucked by the fan.
It collides with the surface so the impact and pressure change, the material will be a cooler temperature also.
Play at 1.5x speed it will save some time. Great video though

What is the problem if heat rejection smaller than 200kw? but in/out temperatures and water flow rate are the same.

No it will recycle the water, a much smaller amount is lost to evaporation. You can reclaim some heat yes.

How to calculate water loss in cooling tower as a rule of thumb
rough rule of thumb we use- 1% of the flow for every 10degF just for evap
