There's a universe of amazing young guitarists today, all with jaw-dropping techniques, we know who they are. Yet few I could watch and listen to endlessly. Andy's chops bow to no one, and his music is always listenable and engaging. Plus he's a helluva nice dude. Will now shut up and play my guitar.
@@andywoodmusic Man thank you! been playing for 50 years (more on the jazzy side). busy at work so i don’t get exposed to the “newer” players on the scene. but man you’re amazing.
I know right! Not sure if he joined TH-cam to late or what but he is truly one of the best & most versatile players I’ve heard. I seen a lot. Sat in a “cubicle” every day with Jimmy Herring when I went to AIM, I’ve seen, heard many of the greatest and AW is toe to toe! 🎶🕺🎶

Junktown is just Stellar as anything Joe Satriani has put out. Its Just Professor Joe been around a Long Long time. Not sure why im looking this pedal up now, its just one of those things thats been in the back of my mind. I've own the Regular Pinnacle several years and ain't never giving that up
Wampler knows how to fine tune each side to work together in either order you choose. It’s remarkable. I can get any tone out of this with the use of one other boost or OD before it or in the loop.
Just added the Gearbox to my board last night and I am STUNNED by the sheer amount and quality of tones I can get out of it! Thanks for a great pedal and some truly inspiring playing here, Andy!
For me personally, there is no other place than Tennesse & Nashville packed with such amazing musicians and talents. The list is endless. Cheers Andy, you are truly amazing
I got my Gearbox a week ago and it's the best overdrive I've ever used. Super easy to dial in and sounds fabulous with all of my guitars - even my baritone. The gate on channel 2 is a really nice touch. Kudos!
Andy, I am new to your music and this video was the first time I ever heard you play. I have to say that song reminds me very strongly of Al Di Meola, please take that as a GREAT compliment. Al is one of my all time favorite guitarists and for me to think of him when I heard you play for the first time means a lot to me. You are obviously very talented and unique. I am glad I stumbled across your channel and look forward to learning more of your music. Thank you for sharing it with us.
@@andywoodmusic 1st time for me hearing you play as well. Really cool stuff. Sort of reminded me of Steffen Schackinger. Really looking forward to digging into your tracks.
This is easily the best demo I've seen in a long time. You're a monster player dude, congrats on the new pedal - I'll absolutely be adding one to my collection.
Dude your playing inspires me to pick up my guitar. Truly a master of the instrument and a down to earth nice guy. This pedal can do it alI. I don’t need it….but I want it!
Love both of these pedals... Got the Gearbox about 2 weeks ago and it is incredible... Also have the Woodshed need to pair them up on my board...Forgot you did that in the video...Sounds awesome!!!
Went into the video telling myself No! I don’t need another pedal!! I’m happy with my board............watched video and credit card mysteriously was in my hand and info was being passed once again....... Damn you Andy and Brian!! Seriously though congrats Andy! It sounds amazing just as I knew it would.
Man that Suhr Tele sounds incredible! I have a Tumnus and Wampler Tom Quale Fusion that I've had on my board that have worked well. But I like the understated OD on this pedal. Yet you can really crank it for some crunch or grunge.
Seems like you could also 4-wire this pedal, with the gate and OD in front of the amp, and the distortion in the FX loop. If you have an amp where you want two different distortion tones, you could use the amp's own grit boosted with the OD for rhythm, then use the crunch setting on your amp to boost the DS side for lead/solos. Nice.
You're a monster Andy! I really love the versatility of your playing. Inspired by your country playing I decided to take your course on Jam Play and it is awesome. Country technique is something new to me and your lessons are clear as water and very stimulating. In that direction just a fan request: a video on your personal approach to telecaster setup for doing country, compromise between action, twang and playability, etc. Thank you!
Sounds Great I recently purchased a Andy Wood Gearbox from Wampler. Its a game changer. I have a Chorus plugged in the middle What versatility going into my Marshall.
Had to buy it! I really like the versatility of tones. I always look for an overdrive that has clarity of the notes and great sustain. This seems to check all the boxes for me. Well done Andy!
Jesus I don’t know how you do it, but your playing is absolutely amazing. That pedal sounds great too, congratulations!!! Looks like another pedal to add to the ever growing list.
I really like this pedal. The one issue I have with it is there is no contrast between the background and the lettering. If you wear reading glasses, be forewarned. Also, the switches don’t “click” on. It is an electronic switch so turning it on or off can happen accidentally.
The gate is a nice touch to get rid of the.noise particularly if you stack both sides of the pedal together. Amazing nobody thought to do that before. Great value, two drives and a gate for not a lot more than an overdrive pedal. It’s a winner. Beautiful 335 style guitar. Looked like there was a little flame on it?
Yep!!!…Thanks for the tabs and backing track forJunktown and Forgotten Secrets!…then I realised I need this piece of gear and yeah,a bit closer to your sound! ..My Suhr t deluxe is brilliant but every time I’m watching you feel like should have wait for a AW whiskey barrel hh instead!(they are rare over here in UK).Thanks!
@@andywoodmusic You're welcome man I have it on order from Sweetwater and I'm hoping to have it sometime this weekend. I also love the Banjo part in your intro song, really cool man.
@@andywoodmusic The only luck I've really had over the years with a single-coil Strat and Deluxe Reverb has been my Fulldrive 2 and the Tumnus, I bet this will be great. It's being match up with a Flashback Mini, H9, Dejavibe, and a couple other pedals - controlled with G3. I'm looking forward to a new inspirational tone. Thanks!

Stellar. I've heard a lot of pedals over the years and that one pretty much seems to cover all the bases, and convincingly too. Probably helps if you have Andy's hands but dang, that's another great wampler.

i know I am kind of off topic but does anyone know of a good place to watch newly released movies online ?
The kind of player that makes you reach for your own guitar. Eric Johnson and Andy Timmons would be proud.

Wampler makes the most tone rich overdrives of all time. He blows my mind! GearBox, Paisley Drive, and Hot Wired pedals are all 🔥 🔥 🔥

Song is hypnotic. Makes me feel intoxicated
This is killer! Really enjoyed the performance of the intro tune.
Right ? Seeing Andy whizz through Junktown was amazing and inspirational
Great player! And a dual pedal with my two absolute favorite Wampler pedals - the Tumnus and the Pinnacle? Take my money!

Also the “insert” is a killer idea.
