My woodshed compressor arrived yesterday. Hands down the best! My other 4 compressors can’t hold a candle to it. Gearbox arrives tomorrow. Fun times ahead, and just in time for a short tour coming up!
Hey this is great, I have been so close to buying a HX stomp but this video makes me re think it. The halo sound great, I would think my dyna comp would do for the compression. Only have a Tube screamer so I would have to pick a distortion. Thanks Andy for this.
just step up the tone game and snag the woodshed and gearbox, you won't be disappointed at all! im a comp a colic, and WS is WAY more transparent than the old school mxr
I could take that pedalboard out of Andy’s hands, put it in front of an amp, plug my guitar into it and BAM!!!….I wouldn’t sound anywhere near this…urgh!!..so frustrating 😳
My main sound is only 3 pedals ... a kingsley page clean tube boost, an xotic soul driven with a mids knob to crank em .. and an el capistan delay (set same - slapback and some spring and a longer ambient delay)... i slowly pulled pedals off the board until i was left with these and i am happiest i have been , no more compressors , multiple boosts , modulations ... i could never get sounds i loved with modulation in band/live settings ... i play strat into bassman ... good video anyway

When I was young I had every peddle that came out , now I'm old Ive become a minimalist minimalist, I only use overdrive , delay and reverb. and a treble booster , it changes but right now I have a Timmy ,Crowther Hotcake ,Naga viper treble booster and Memiory Man Nano , great video , that Halo sounds incredible , and the Woodshed I hope to make , star lineup 👍
I have TWO Gearboxes and TWO Woodsheds because I have a big board and a little board. I have a Halo on the big board and a little Donner Yellow Fall mini delay on the little board. The only other pedals on my little board are a mini PolyTune 3 and a PluTONEium Chi Wah Wah.
I put the gearbox in the return&send of a multy effect board and way better. .than putting it straight into a amp. Don't no how but sounds great. More volume and more powerful and more precise
Watching this makes me wonder why I ever sold my gearbox…. Seriously, you could partner with Sweetwater to sell that pedalboard as a preassembled kit, with a few customization options. Very nice!

Great info! Does that effects loop breakout box work automatically? i.e. if you throw cables on it the delay gets taken out of the front chain and through it whereas when it's not in use it stays after the other pedals?
Have the Halo already and the other 2 are in route from the shops through Reverb. Will be able to build my Tres Andres next week. I have a Tech 21 RK5 and a line 6 M9 for some decent chorus and modulation effects so my pedal board should be a beast by next week. Oh yea can’t forget my Dunlop crybaby Jerry Cantrel Signature. What a friggen awesome wah.
More the pickups and amps than the pedals, if we're being honest. I have the Gearbox, it can be great or so-so depending on which guitar you use it with. Both guitars could have great pickups and still one may not sound so good with the Gearbox.
Andy, I also have the Keeley halo, and the Dunlop mini X volume/expression pedal. For the life of me, I cannot get the expression to work. I have the internal switches on the pedal set to expression and ring, and I have it plugged from the auxiliary in the mini X into the TRS expression in the Keeley Halo with a TRS cable. I’m following the manual settings in the Keeley Halo for Settings expression, but nothing is working.is there a possibility that you could let me know how you did this?

I saw in your big pedalboard that you are using a Pantheon. What do you think about it and how you use it in your music? It’s a BluesBreaker style overdrive. Really awesome too.
I have a helix and love it but I just ordered the Gearbox. It looks like Andy just uses The Halo for the ambiance instead of Reverb. I'm thinking that his pedsl board would be better than the Helix. The Helix does so much but sometimes less is more.

It's the default Andy Timmons Halo preset. He's got the output of the Halo going into a Suhr Bella's main input. He's not using the Bella's effects loop.

What a great little board! Running a mono mini board since ~1 month now with the xotic rc/ac oz, jam pedals delay & strymon flint. Gets everything done and its so light and easy to carry around. Love the mini boards!
Just depends on the music. But most of my stuff is buckers, I go singles if I need that traditional Tele or strat thing. Junktown-single coil, forgotten secrets/reach-buckers

I was using a MojoMojo for OD1 and an XTS Atomic OD for OD2 but the Gearbox replaced them both. When I add Channel 2 for solos, WOW.
