  • Nice to see racing simulator coverage in mainstream media , even if the same tropes and narratives keep being repeated.

    I think the wired video was quite good much better than most mainstream sim-racing coverage.
    Just missed opportunity of showing a more affordable luxury sim-rig or even a budget simrig with a small mention of how that achieves 99% of what the 2 million Sim-Rig does as it specifically applies to driver training.

    Mate I'm not an active online community guy just add a comment because of two things:
    - I enjoy your content, you always have some pretty good points but I don't know why I haven't subscribed yet. Done now.
    - The other thing, my old friend Zoltan who is a top sound engineer in my country, look like as if you were twins. The first time I saw the thumbnail of one of your videos with a WD40 bottle somewhere in the background I was thinking, "What the hell, Zoltan went into sim racing?" :D
    Keep up the great work.

    So sim racing BEGINS at $60,000. I have a long way to go. I should probably get a kickstarter going now.

    Nothing beats VR, you are literally in the 3d world and experience the actual car you choose to drive without having to buy all the different wheel types because it’s represented in the 3d world. Great video Adam 👍

    The 2 million price tag they pull out of their ass, those types of simulators are a piece of tool custom-made by a constructor or racing team for their internal development and testing. Using a heavily modified rfactor engine, all of which can't be purchase by the public.

    • @GamerMuscleVideos
      @GamerMuscleVideos  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Its also one of those things that just slot into a business so its hard to actually pin down a set price , once you factor in R&D ,TAX rebates , capital investment tax savings and god knows what + the staffing costs , or if you are just talking about the specific motion platform and screens. Then you really just have to think about things interms of how much money it saves or even generates when rented out to other people in which case it doesn't really "cost" anything.

      @GamerMuscleVideos  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Its just a "lets look at expensive stuff" sort of video , but its still a shame as this sort of thing could at least mention once that hay you can buy something amazing actually quite affordably or that actually you don't need a multi million pound sim to get absolutely amazing sim-racing at home.

    It's rFpro on the simulator, I think your knowledge of rFpro needs a little more research as it has evolved considerably since the days it used the original rFactor

    • @GamerMuscleVideos
      @GamerMuscleVideos  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Did you watch the video? your comment indicates that you did not understand what was being said.
      - I explained that RFpro is effectively a licensed framework and not a singular simulator, i.e., there is not one version of RFpro. Some people will have totally replaced the physics, graphics engine, or other components.
      Some people with smaller budgets in the past using versions of RFpro would not really change anything, and it would basically be the same as RF1 ( I know for sure that this was the case with one specific f1 team at least)
      I'm sure ISI or whoever owns the rights to RFpro or does core RFpro development now will also have improved the core of RFpro and offer different solutions and licensing arrangements.
      As I say in the video, it's somewhat analogous to Unreal Engine in that you can license the engine and then use it in different ways for different projects building on the engine , largely replacing everything or not replacing anything at the core at all.
      There are other simulators on the market that have also done professional licenses which have then had underlying changes made to them or are tied into different frameworks. For example, Delara uses a somewhat customized version of Assetto Corsa.
      It's also the case from a functional perspective/Realistic driving and simulation perspective, even RF1 engine and pjenca-based physics models can produce very realistic end results that are much more realistic than, say, iRacing or other solutions that exist out there.

    • @lasercutter
      @lasercutter 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@GamerMuscleVideos what you actually said was that rFpro "is basically just a licensed version of rFactor1" which is wildly inaccurate, the rFactor1 engine hasn't been used for over a decade (2009 I think) and although in 2013 it was very similar to the rF2 engine, having been developed alongside rF2 with ISI, it is now quite different.
      The graphics are probably the one thing that isn't changed by the customers and I guess my issue is that by describing it as basically rF1 and your followers believing and repeating that view it demeans the work that I and many others have done on rFpro over the last 17 years.
      Other than that I enjoyed watching the whole video ( I saw the wired one before I saw your reaction video) and largely agree with a lot of what was said, one thing that wasn't taken into account regarding latency and that I know was a big issue for the F1 teams is that the reaction times of top drivers is so much quicker than us mere mortals it is very important that the latency between what the driver does and what he sees and feels is as low as possible otherwise they feel disconnected from the sim.
      Anyway, have a good weekend, sorry if my comment caused offense but I do get fed up with the amount of misinformation and sometimes outright untruths that get spread about a company I have worked for since it was formed purely because some people take issue with the fact it has rFactor in it's name.

    • @TechAde
      @TechAde 22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@lasercutter well said. Rather than get fed up at the misinformation and lies I just have to laugh that people with no real idea about rFpro or high-end pro simulators can make claims such as there's no real difference between what you can have at home and one of these rigs. If that was the case companies like rFpro, Dynisma and Ansible Motion wouldn't exist as there would be no market for the products.
