Thank you for emphasising the importance of water conservation! I’m sure it’s a huge culture shock for many people, but it’s so important. Fresh water is the big limiter on everything here - population growth, agriculture, manufacturing. Especially as we’re heading into an El Niño period.
Alas, I am unable to transfer my life to Australia, except for a 3 week vacay every couple of years. Scheduled to return in February '24. My 9th visit. Some people think I might like it over there!😋
Travelling time...my sis-in-law was talking of coming to visit us when we lived in Mt Isa and said that we could go to the beach for a day. I suggested 3 days, she said that just a day on the beach was long enough. I agreed, but said we would still need 3 days. Then I had to explain it all to her...1 day to go there, 1 day to be there, and 1 day to get back...3 days!
A couple of random matters to keep in mind as if I may. Remember when driving on highways that Aussies' strongly dislike people who stay in the passing lane/lanes. Also they are not so... I'll say welcoming of 'haggling' or 'hagglers'. Certainly people who run small businesses as mush as despise hagglers. Always remember, if you've been allowed into virtually any other country you are somewhat of an Ambassador to your home country. Be respectful as you would expect others when coming into your homes! Great upload Ross! Very informative! 👍🏻💯😉
I'll probably never get to woop woop, but my sister lived there, saw most of it! Health care means early diagnosis, all options covered, personal choice, reduced stress! Public transport is fun, the people, the landscape, the new sights, the experience! Be aware of water use, just love your water, or catch the rain! Open your mind, be creative, feel free, talk to a mate! I love Magpies, they are so elegant and sing beautifully! Yep, sun! 😁👍
Good positive point about Medicare being good and affordable healthcare but it’s not free for most people. It’s still $1000 to $2000 for most working Australians. 2% of income.
I recently got my Bowel Cancer letter in AU. It comes with a special post paid envelope for me to send my poop into the government to have it checked for early signs of bowel cancer. I suspect it's also used to keep track on Bogan cannibals but that might just be paranoia.
Fk! Ive received at least two of them.. But I must of not noticed the prepaid return envelope.... Seems I shouldn't of kept those in the fridge as per instructions..... @ 55, thats mens theres a half decade old angry poop near the cheese.
Another great video, I must say for me the pub is for beer and I agree with the bread and sausage thing; why go buy hotdog buns when there's perfectly good sliced bread on the counter top. I can't wait to make the move.
"Medicare if youre a citizen or permanent resident" most visas here require you to buy private health insurance which will allow you to access medicare too! and its not too expensive.. which is cool but sadly this has resulted in a industry that no one really talks about.. in certain countries that have bad healthcare but citizens with money to study overseas have cottoned on to the this and come over to 'study', bring their partners and pop out babies at the same time and get top healthcare for very little.

Ross mate, you’re a bloody natural at this YouTubing game aren’t you mate? A shame you’re up Nth, I’d love to have a beer with you one day and I don’t even drink!! Shout out if you’re ever in Melbourne. I’ll show you the underbelly of Melbourne few know about! No cloak and daggers….I’m talking food, drinks and a private cigar bar……….Ohhh Yeahhh!!!
Not only should they have approved your family’s application sooner. The Australian government should actively pay you to promote immigration to our skills shortage. You’re a true blue Aussie mate! 🍻 Live your best life!
A very strained infrastructure in the 3 major cities. Public transport is underfunded and needs a major uplift outside of major cities. Accommodation is hard to find. Rentals are increasing faster than inflation. Good luck finding a house in the major cities in good condition under $1,000,000. Sure Medicare is free. Beware the waiting times for ambulances and hospital admissions. Australia needs less people not more.
Thanks for the great video. No dangerous animals will get you? What about our bl**dy politicians? I admit some of them seem OK (you'd swear they were human) but most are disgusting. Re magpies: Some people who live near "maggies" feed them treats now & then. The birds get to know them (birds seem to be very good at face recognition) and leave them alone. When riding a bicycle it's a good idea to stick something on your helmet (sticks, bits of wire, whatever).

Water saving depends where you live and if there’s an El Niño 😂
Always a good idea to conserve water though
Decent Aussies always do their best to conserve fresh water.
Cheers Ross, seems like you have it all "sussed" out after 2 years down under. Hopefully me one day!! 👍🤞
Hope it happens soon for you Tom
