Hi! Love the house tour! Could I know the name of your builder? We went house shopping a couple of months ago in the Charlotte area too! I absolutely love your floor plan more than what we saw.
Ashlynne, I send you all the congratulations and great luck and joy with decorating and furnituring your house! It makes me very cheerful to see that something that’s my biggest dream right now (buying and moving into the house) is accomplished by such mindful and wonderful people ♥️ more happiness, love and dreams coming true in this world! It’s so great! Once again very happy for you and wish you all the best luck!
So interesting to see this, I feel houses in Europe are built totally different. We don't have as much built in storage, so it's more about the furniture and you get to pick your style with it a lot. I'm excited to see what the place will look like when you're done 😊
And I’m so happy about that, I hate built-in closets, they‘ll look very dated eventually and they‘re so hard to change. But renovating American homes built out of wood and drywall is much easier than our homes built from bricks and stone.
Ashlynne, please never stop posting. Your videos always brighten my day and inspire me! You always destress me and I don't know where I'd be without you!!!
I have some suggestions for your home. 1. those knobs in the kitchen and bathroom: try to match them with all the door handles and kitchen (like the sinks) and shower hardware as well, so it becomes cohesive. since your kitchen and bathroom cabinets are kind of mat, consider using shinier knobs and handles (if your doors are also mat). Also, I would choose black, because it otherwise might clash with the shower colors. 2. the wall colors: if you make those either slightly darker than your moldings or make them the exact same color as the moldings and the ceiling, it will look very nice and your ceilings look taller. 3. consider painting the bottom of your kitchen cabinets in the same color as the cabinets, to make it look brighter and cohesive with the rest of the kitchen. 4. the living room area: use a bigger and maybe lighter colored couch without too many details spread around (that shouldn't be too hard for you). maybe keep one (extra) large vase with some flowers/branches/pampas grass. I love thinking about interior, haha
Thank you for showing us the floor plan. I always find it so much easier to understand a home’s layout this way. As someone who has bought three new homes from floor plans I think this is so well thought out. My first home was just over 1500 square feet but on two levels so I have a good idea of the space. My dream is to have had a bungalow but it’s never worked out. I live just outside Toronto and it’s rare for bungalows and also because of the layouts it’s usually more expensive because of the land it takes up. I am so happy for you and Christopher! You are still such a young couple and this is a huge achievement in your lives. I wish all young people would be smart like you and watch their finances early in life. It’s just goes to show you that it is possible when you save, are frugal and have a goal in sight. I wish you both many happy years in your new home.
To anyone reading this, I hope you’re feeling well and having a lovely day! Stay safe and remember to keep smiling in these weird times, sending lots of love from a small TH-camr❤️ ❤️
Cute house! It’s a very nice layout. While the garage is still clean, you might considering getting epoxied floors in there. Garages floor can get grungy and stained over time. An epoxy coating makes them easy to clean. :)
So happy for you! Congratulations! What a great house and good floor plan! I am very interested in how you adapt to living a bigger space being a minimalist and look very much forward to when you share your experiences!
love the house! you could put frost film on the bathroom window.... that way you get all the light but people cant see in. You can get it on Amazon or the hardware store, and its really easy to put on yourself.
I second this. I got frosted window film on Amazon for my apartment. I live on the first floor of my building in a busy downtown. It works really well.
Wow! So many pluses… The beautiful floor, the view, large backyard with trees at the edge, spacey, large kitchen. I guess the only thing I didn’t like is the wall-to-wall carpeting in the bedrooms… prefer wood floors. The exterior of the house is very attractive also but maybe the best thing of all is that nobody has lived there previously which makes it so fresh.
It’s so exciting when you get your first house 😊 The plan is quite well thought out especially with regard to bringing lots of light into the rooms. That’s really great.
I recently helped a friend replace all their doorknobs and it made the house look totally different and more cohesive. The next project is also replacing hinges to match. If you change your handles in the bathrooms and kitchen it might make sense to also do doorknobs and hinges. Makes the whole thing more cohesive and more your style.
Loved the vid! Congrats and thank you for sharing! Appreciate the work that you put in to let us in to your life and creating lovely vids, can’t wait to see the decorating/moving journey. My design suggestion is frosted/opaque glass in the toilet window, light still gets in but you have privacy without having to put a blind down every time you use the toilet or end up with it hanging down the whole time. With love!
I love the windows, like ours, we choose to do different window treatments mainly dressing the lower windows. For example, we have a shutter in one room. Cafe curtains for privacy, yet it totally allows for full light exposure! In our office we have stained glass on the bottom which continues the privacy but allows light! For texture we do have valances which we mounted ceiling height to accentuate the windows. You will have so much fun making this your own!
Wow as someone living in the UK that house is enormous for a first timer buyer. You are so lucky to have large open space and a huge garden. Enjoy all the happiness and memories you can create there in the years to come
This home seems so perfect for you, with two rooms for offices and a bathroom right there and then the rest of the house in its own area! Love the kitchen! And I love the floors.. so pretty! Can't wait to see what you guys do with it!
Brings back memories of when I built and moved into my home 30 years ago. I can remember the excitement you are now experiencing. Enjoy this time, the ideas, the projects and as you said, making it your own. You are a special young lady and I know that God is blessing your lives as you take this big step. I believe He was involved in all your decisions. Looking forward to seeing what is to come for y'all.
Like mentioned I think sound proofing is very important for privacy , coz I can hear everything that all my neighbours talk about and I bet they can hear us too. Beautiful floor plan btw 😍
Very nice house! As someone who lives in California and both of ours homes needed a lot of updating , I suggest to enjoy all the amenities with having a new home. 😀. Take time to decide what projects you want to take on.
Beautiful house Ashlynne. But I suggest you make sure your house has safety and security systems installed in every window and door that requires it. Thank you for taking us on a tour with you. Wish you the best. Make beautiful memories🌱🥰
Beautiful home! We also built our own house last year and moved in here in September. We live in Sweden and it is so intresting seeing how different the styles of the houses are. It looks completely different! 😄 You can definately see that it is two different countries, and cultures 😄 Will be waiting for the finished house tour! Love your channel, keep up the good work! Lots of hugs from Sweden ❤
Buying a new house is SOOO exciting! Congratulations!! I'm so excited for you!! We just bought our first house in September and it's such a fun ride! I made a chuckle when you said you'll actually be using your garage for your car! I'm in total agreement! My husband and I put ours in the garage (It's winter in Montreal and it has snowed a few times this year so it's amazing!). There are houses in my neighbourhood with double garages and 3 or 4 cars parked in the driveway. When I take my 7a.m. morning walk around my area after it has snowed, my neighbours with garages but cars parked on the driveway have to scrape the snow off their cars. It's also odd here because people pay for snow removal service for their driveways BUT they have their 3 cars parked in the driveway. What's the point?! Hehe! Happy decorating, organisation, setting things up and all that fun stuff! It is the best being able to make a space your own!
Congratulation on your new home! I think the gray paint on the walls is called Agreeable Gray since our home is also a new build (around the same size!) and came with the same or similar color. So happy for you guys to be able to find a home that is perfect and in a beautiful community!
It's pretty and full of possibilities. I hope you two have fun moving in and decorating. Congrats again and my advice is to purchase a tree for the living or dining area to make it homey right away. I've got 3 trees & they make those 3 rooms feel finished while not overwhelming the space with stuff. Best wishes to you & Christopher.
Your new house is beautiful! I like the simplicity of it. Hint: if you want the rooms to look large, hang your curtains all the way to the top, and I use all white in each room of my apartment. It really makes a difference. Just like your white kitchen, white curtains, hanging all the way to the top of the wall, will keep your house bright and cheerful.
Happy Moving Day!! Can't wait to see the before and after once you've settled and started making it your own. We've lived in our current house 5+ years now and still making it our own - so take your time and enjoy the process. Congrat's!
Hey Ashlynne, I discovered your channel around the same time last year. I just wanted to tell you that your content has genuinely helped me lead a more minimal lifestyle and your voice is super soothing. Congratulations on your new place it's so beautiful and i adore the view. Lots of love from India❤️
I really like the style of American houses. Here in Europe (Germany) we don't have extra rooms for washing, closets or storage. We have to put extra shelves and cupboards into the main rooms, so nothing is packed away like in Amarican homes. Washing mashines are usually in the kitchen or the bathroom if there is enough space and the clothes have to dry on a portable reck in the living room, if you dont have a cellar or garden, where you can install a reck permanently. Thanks for this great home tour! I am very excited for you both :)
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful new home. I remember my excitement when my husband and I moved into our newly built home. Such exciting times. All the very best with the move. I hope you create many happy memories in your home 🏡
I love this house! I definitely suggest black hardware in the kitchen and bathroom. Black hardware will match your black appliances in the kitchen and will compliment the silver shower! Just my personal opinion but I love interior design and that's what I would do!
Since the very first day of me following your channel, you instantly became my inspiration, @Ashlynne. I was inspired to be minimalist and learned to save more because of it. I even decided to make my wedding soon as a minimalist inspired wedding. I am happy for you! Congratulations for your new home and continue inspiring others!
I love it, Ashlynne...especially the view of the beautiful backyard! I hope you and Christopher have many happy years there! Can't wait to see how you decorate the space!😍
Ok you can paint your home any colours you want just FYI ask your builder what kind of paint they used in your home Is it water base, oil base, latex base, or Acrylic base paints before you begin painting anything house paint is different from artist paint if you try and paint over something you may not be able to depending on the paint your using and how it's mixed together
were you able to choose options such as environmentally friendly heating and cooling, upgraded insulation etc? One of the apealling things about a new build for me would be to make it as eco friendly as possible.

Such a pretty home!! Love the doors and the cabinets and the whole kitchen! Also I'm from Germany and what I like about American homes is that you have built in closets, that's so useful, we don't have that and need to get separate furniture. What I don't like or find weird are your stoves cause you have to reach over the stuff you're cooking to turn the stove on and off, isn't that kind of inconvenient?
I think it really depends on the stove- for homes that have natural gas or propane stoves the knobs are often on the front, but electric stoves like this one often on the back of the range! Also, it's funny how different regions do things differently- I find having the knobs on the front a hazard- I bump into them and turn them on too often!
@@nataliehennessey5187 just bought a new electric stove and the controls are in the front. You have to push them in to turn them on and it is an induction stove that shuts off the heat if no pot is on top. Lots more safety features than the old versions.
You can usually get them either place, depending on the model. We had them on the back on our previous stove, so wee hands couldn’t turn it on. Now that we don’t have small children at home, our new stove has the knobs in front
In Poland knobs are usually in the front in both gas and electric Stones, but I got one that has knobs on the side do little kids woudn't reach it and I think its the best option 😉
For a DIY project you might want to take your cabinets up to the ceiling. The top of cabinets get filthy and taking them up make ceilings appear higher. This is pretty easy to do with veneers vs real cabinets. Love your counters
Hope you enjoy this little house tour! 🤍
I am so happy for you!! You have come so far and can’t wait to see the house decorated! Love from Cali🤍☺️😁
Hi! Love the house tour! Could I know the name of your builder? We went house shopping a couple of months ago in the Charlotte area too! I absolutely love your floor plan more than what we saw.

Beautiful home, congrats! It's nice you won't lose that back view by more homes since its an established pond
This “closet” thing is so weird, like too much visual “door clutter” to me. 😅 (I live in Europe.) I really enjoyed the video though.😊

Congratulations to you both, a new home is always so exciting. I'm sure you'll make many happy memories in your new space!
For a DIY project you might want to take your cabinets up to the ceiling. The top of cabinets get filthy and taking them up make ceilings appear higher. This is pretty easy to do with veneers vs real cabinets. Love your counters
