      Florida law firm launches class-action suit against the Genesis GV80
      The lawsuit alleges the luxury SUV has "dangerous defects" in its steering
      A Florida law firm specializing in consumer advocacy has filed a federal class-action lawsuit against Hyundai, claiming that the Genesis GV80 sport-utility is unsafe.
      Corwin Law, based in Boca Raton, filed the lawsuit on behalf of owners and lessees of the GV80, which launched as an all-new model for 2021. The lawsuit claims the automaker is “promoting the GV80 luxury SUV, despite being aware of dangerous defects affecting the vehicle’s driveability that are documented in Korean news media and current customer message boards.”

    This seemed like a very harsh review. There was no need to bring up Hyundai so much, you don't bring up Volkswagen in Audi reviews as much, and all those mentions of copying was unfair. How are Genesis going to grow when they given such a battering from the press. This seems like an excellent car, especially given the extra hard review it was put through

    Owning my Genesis for the last 5 years has been an absolute pleasure, and look forward to testing a G80 EV. Don't expect an impartial view from the British press. They're not interested unless it's an overpriced German car. I look on TH-cam for professional, genuine video reviews, mostly from the US, and I haven't seen a bad one yet for Genesis.

    I would say it's definitely looks wise and in general a breath of fresh air, so much more original than the comptetition in and out. That's I think a big part of why Lexus is just doing okay and Infiniti completely failed in Europe (DS has a native market at least to support it's existence in Europe), both Lexus and Infiniti have always been outdated and generic. Lexus have tried to shake it up lately, Infiniti never even put one pinky worth of effort but Genesis is not only original in style, they also offer a better ownership experience.

    Why doesn't the UK get the 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 like the rest of Europe and other markets like North America and Australia do?

    Strange that a car magazine came up with a pretty inaccurate history of Genesis in the UK, a few years ago they launched a premium saloon here, it didn't sell well tbh but What Car actually did on of their short road tests on it when it was introduced, do worry that the future will be no better for the brand this time, at least unlike last time they seem to be giving it a chance by offering a range of vehicles, when the saloon was inroduced in the past i they hamstrung it by not offering the AWD version which was available in the USA.

    I just wonder whether it would be wise for anybody in UK to invest in ICE cars given the deadline for ICE automobiles production is 2025 and it would be not long when the support for them would also be discontinued. I guess, it’s the reason why Tesla took off well because people invested in the company with the future of automobiles in UK. But you know better.

    • @bramfrank409
      @bramfrank409 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed. In fact there is a specific dedicated storage area in the rear, under the floor for it, the portable air compressor and cargo net. I suspect the manual was in the glove box because they actually expected the reviewers to refer to it (hint, they don't read manuals, and some of the facts quoted are simply incorrect).
