Video does not do justice how good looking this SUV is. Saw it during a photo shoot in Beverly Hills with the G90 a few months ago (pre-release). A stunning design.
Well done, as usual! Beautiful SUV . . .I especially like the warranty and have leased 3 Genesis products to match the bumper to bumper coverage. thanks, Coach Lauren!
Thumbs up for reviewing the 2.5 L engine Lauren, not everyone needs a v6 engine. I hope you do the same when the GV70 comes out. Maybe you could recommend best valued package/trim when you review the GV70. Looking forward you see what you recommend. GV70 might be my very first new car purchased. (just for thoughts...comparison review of the GV70 and the X3 side by side). As always, informative!
Thanks for your amazing and detailed breakdown, especially your rating for each category. I recently was able to get a GV80 and it’s the best vehicle I’ve ever owned.
Great review. One comment: in my 3.5T GV80 Prestige, the center section of the second row can be pulled down manually to create a pass through for my skis. I’d imagine it’s the same on the 2.5T, so if you still have your test vehicle can you double-check that? You have to reach behind the center seat and pull up the lever behind the headrest, which will release it and allow you to pull it forward and down.
I was happy to hear the confirmation it was a driver issue and not the car. To be traveling at 84 to 87 miles per hour and not sustain life threatening injuries is very impressive. I consider the less than great MPG and the need for premium fuel, just a safety tax that I am happy to pay for my GV80.
Great review!! If you were to purchase the 2.5 model... which trim would you get to get best bang for the buck? Trying to be cost effective but get more than base model. Love to hear your input. Thanks
Hi Lauren. Great review. This question will likely give away how long it's been since I've bought a car, but does it come with a spare tire? If so, is it a full-sized spare?
Your review of 2.5L GV80 is very good 👍particularly when everyone else only review 3.5L trim. One thing however I would like to confirm with you is the size of the instrument cluster for 2.5L with the Prestige package, 12.3" or 8" without the 3D?
The 2.5 prestige trim does not have some of the features shown. It does not have the 12.3 digital display it does not have quilted Napa leather it does not have power sunshades in the rear seats. Your review showed the 3.5 prestige trim package
This vehicle comes directly from Genesis. They always give us loaded cars so these options are avaialble. Some of the content for the 3.5 is the same - here is the video for the GV80. th-cam.com/video/vUvQR-jEer8/w-d-xo.html
Most of us aren’t driving in the wilderness, however, no spare is a real issue and most manufacturers are not including them to lighten up the weight for MPGs.
Yes, it is. There is a Prestige package offered for the 4 cylinder. It is confusing because it does not offer everything that the Prestige package on the 6 cylinder does. I'd be pissed it I ordered the four with Prestige and was expecting all of the features of the six. I have a Prestige with the 3.5TT and I love it. Lauren's videos on it helped me cement my decision to buy one. Thanks Lauren!
Terrible review. Vital incorrect information was provided. The 3D guage cluster IS NOT available on the 2.5L models no matter the package. It is only available on the 3.5L prestige and above. The middle second row seat folds down for a pass through between the two 2nd row seats. You took almost ALL of your video’s B roll. Most of the time showing the highest end trim 3.5L. This did not provide any valuable information about the 2.5L model.
It doesn’t look that appealing in person. I was in love with it until I saw it. The infotainment system is humongous and the interior is nice but it is super plain compare to the Acura MDX
@@wolfinr1b509 If I hadn't been able to get my GV80 when I did I would have considered the new MDX. Great comparison of the MDX interior to a spaceship. If I were a still a kid, I might have prefered it. The GV80 interior is refined, understated and very classy. It looks way more expensive than it is
I love this Genesis GV80! ❤️
Tiger Woods' unfortunate loaner. I'm really glad you tested the base engine instead of the V6.
This is the review that convinced me to get this beautiful vehicle. Detailed, punchy, useful. Thank you.
Did you get it?
Thank you 😊

But it's a seriously sharp looking Genesis, Lauren.
Agreed.

Great video. Very thorough- well done.
THank you 😊

In 2nd row central seat completely folds down and can be transported skis.

We only get them for 7 days, I’ll check that out, thanks for the tip.
You rock I’m looking at this car I can’t wait to get mine
I think you lost some footage of your filming :) great review btw
Tiger agrees with your max safety rating❗

@@jamesmakibbin5278 no brakes used...all rhrottle🤔🙄😲
The car is too big for the T4. But it definitely moves along!!$
Your channel is the best Lauren you are all legs I love watching 😍
Daily Thunerstorms down here seem to be the new norm so AWD is also handy in rainy climates, see deep south.
Wow...Im watching this video at 4:48pm. The same time displayed on the screen
Two features missing are wireless Apple CarPlay and USB type-C ports. Which is why I’ll wait for the 2022 model.
do you know when 2022 model specs would be released ?

The Advance package gives you a good value & it wouldn't be as expensive as the Prestige package
I like it, it's a Beautiful vehicle!
It sure is!
Great reviewer! 👍
GV80 > MDX > RX

Yes it does! lol - happy to answer your questions

It’s 8 inches. Only the middle and right portion of the cluster is digital. The left side is analog.
Love your reviews. You say Massage Seats, but what I've been hearing is Massage SEAT. None for the passenger. Has this changed?
No, driver only and it’s not true massaging. It’s a few air chambers that inflate and deflate.
@@iCodyonline Well that's extra disappointing!!! Thank you for the reply.
a well-spoken Lady, with great hair! /grin
it looks like you have a thigh adjustment on that level, prestige?
Uhm, Lauren, that's a Bentley.
Oh, ok, that's a bit over the top, isn't it :)
😊

And no soft close doors but still comes nicely equipped with 22 inch kiks
I agree. If you are going to buy one - don’t delay. Genesis wants to go all EV in 2022, that could kill the brand.
Benteyga on a budget and that's just fine.
It’s not a Benteyga, it’s a Genesis. And it doesn’t look anything like a Bentley!
@@cortezmiller1899 I have had my GV80 mistaken for a Bentley a couple of times. I think the GV80 is better looking. (just an opinion)
That front grill will look off with the license plate in the middle.. they designed it without considering where the license plate to be placed… 👎
I will wait 3 years and get one for 18 grand lol, waste of money to buy new one.
The main fact you missed out is...DOES IT HAVE A SPARE WHEEL...?? Imagine driving in the wilderness where you are and the tyre burst..
Most of us aren’t driving in the wilderness, however, no spare is a real issue and most manufacturers are not including them to lighten up the weight for MPGs.
That Midwestern accent.....
This lady is hot and knowledgeable
🙂
I am beginning to like this ride. But will settle for the Santa Fe Ltd with awd and the same engine. When Hyundai fixes it's quality issues.
The 2.5L is not the prestige package
The test car was a presteige package. They only send us loaded vehicles.

4 liters of fuel for 33km that's bad
Looks like a expensive version of a Kia Tulluride or Hyundai Palisade to me.
Kind of but has better tech.
Completely different platform; standard RWD vs the Palisade/Telluride FWD platform.
It doesn’t look that appealing in person. I was in love with it until I saw it. The infotainment system is humongous and the interior is nice but it is super plain compare to the Acura MDX
the design is concise and elegant, the classic looks expensive, not at all like many competitors with an interior like the Star Wars spaceships

It’s still a Hyundai and always will be... you can put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.
The same can be said for Lexus, Infiniti, Acura etc.
