Loom is an innovative screen and video recording software that allows users to create and share videos with ease. As someone who has used Loom extensively, I can confidently say that it has become an essential tool for my work, whether for creating tutorials, collaborating with teammates, or presenting ideas.
One of the reasons it has gained popularity is due to its user-friendly interface and accessibility across various platforms, making it a go-to choice for many professionals and educators alike.
Getting started with Loom is a breeze. You'll first need to set it up on your preferred platform, whether it's the Chrome extension, desktop app, or mobile app. Once installed, learning to navigate the Loom interface is crucial for seamless video creation.
With this knowledge, you'll be able to take advantage of Loom's various features that make recording videos a painless experience. Additionally, editing, managing, and sharing videos become effortless, allowing for efficient collaboration and communication with your intended audience.
In this video, you will learn:
1. How to set up Loom on your home computer and which application is best to use. This will also include mobile versions.
2. How to record your screen, video, and audio to capture your message and effortlessly share this with a team member or client.
3. How to use some of the advanced functions within loom, such as video editing, engaging with the comments feature, and also embedding GIFs for higher engagement.
4. And a whole lot more…
In the context of content creation and running an online business, using Loom has been a game-changer for me. By simply capturing my screen, I can get my point across in far more ways than simply a voice note or text, saving me so much time and negating the requirement for live calls.
Enjoy the process, no matter the outcome.

I appreciate your reply. My challenges isn't feedback. The audio and video our out of sync. I believe it could be my Logitech Brio camera. Loom doesn't seem to support. I'm going to try three more camera options that I have to see if that helps. THANK YOU!
Best of luck!
Great video! It was very clear and concise, and the background music added a nice touch. I didn't notice it until the end.
Hi Faith, thanks for your comment. So glad that you found this video helpful - and that you liked the background music :)
Actually.. really helpful.
Thanks so much. Glad you found it helpful. 🙏🏼
Great clear video!
Thank you. Glad you found it helpful. 🙌🏽
Truly helpful
Glad it helped. 🤓
Thank you!
You’re very welcome. Let me know if you have any questions. 🤓
Thank you so much

Tim...great video...clear and to the point. I have been asked to trial Loom as an alternative option to what I currently use for video creation, Camtasia. By the way, what microphone are you using in this video?
Thanks so much Mark. Great to hear you’re using Loom. So I’m using a Rode Podcaster mic in this video. Very good value. Let me know if you have any more tech questions. BTW. You may find this video helpful. th-cam.com/video/RhieQuKzGe4/w-d-xo.html
I have video in my PowerPoint. When I record the PowerPoint using Loom, I get audio distortion and feedback.
Hey Michael. This all depends on how you’ve set everything up. Without knowing that exactly, it sounds to me like loom is recording the audio from your speaker output. There is a setting that you can apply to record your computer audio and not rely on it picking up the speaker output. Hope this helps.
My audio and video are out of sync. I can't seem to fix it. Any suggestions?
Hey Bill, it could actually be a number of things, it’s hard to diagnose remotely. It depends on what you’re using to capture audio and video. I would recommend trying to use an external microphone and also headphones. This will cut out any background feedback. You might find this video helpful. th-cam.com/video/RhieQuKzGe4/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared Let me know how you get on.
Would you recommend LOOM to build a video course? if So, how would I ensure the course video is not public?
Thanks for your question. No, I wouldn’t use loom as a video course, I would use Kajabi. This way you can host your course videos behind a login feature. You can learn more about Kajabi here: th-cam.com/play/PLciEIJH8eYA3TzSsPd5hU3pjU-4hsvQRx.html&si=zVLmq5vDSaynH97q
Awesome vid. I've been noticing a lot of people wearing black rings on their index finger lately. Can you tell me the meaning?
Thank you very much. So I’m wearing an Oura ring to track health metrics. You can learn more about them here. ouraring.com/
Does the bar with all of the tabs show on the recording?
Not if you don't want them to. This only showed on my recording as I selected my entire screen to record - and this is what my desktop looks like. You can always select a specific window to record and avoid showing all your tabs. Hope this helps.
Is there a limit to how many people I can send one Loom link to? I have thousands of businesses I want to send it to but wondered if it affects bandwidth.
Absolutely not. There is no limit to how many people you send your loom link to. Just think of it as a website landing page that you’re sharing, that just happens to host a video of yours. Any number of people can visit and consume your video. Hope this makes sense. 🤓
Hi there, can you upload a video (presentation) from CANVA to Loom?
Great question. From my experience, I have uploaded multiple videos from my desktop to Loom for sharing. So you may need to download your Canva presentation first before uploading it to Loom. Hope this helps. 🤓
@@timpeakman Awesome thank you so much!!
When I share a link to my loom video, how can I ensure that the person I sent it to is the only person who can see the video? In other words, how do I prevent the video from being shared around if it was only intended for a particular person?
Hello again Faith. What a great question! Here's my answer: www.loom.com/share/a0cc71d4f905411483380dc4e334695e?sid=92629d33-a462-4c6a-88b3-1abd1e3d6219
I don't have an option to pause the recording?
Why would that be?
Thanks for asking Joanne. If you go to minute 4:30 in this video, I show you how to switch the recording controls on and off. If you toggle this switch to on, you should see the recording controls appear at the bottom left of your screen. Hope this helps. 🤓
When I am on ZOOM I record on Loom. It is unfortunate that LOOM does not record when you share a screen
Thanks for your comment. Loom will be able to record you sharing your screens if you select it to record full screen. I talk about this at minute 3:40 in this video. Alternatively, you can use Zoom to record everything if you want to make it a bit more simple. Hope this helps. 😁
hey ! when I sharing screen which I need to , my camera's video is not being recorded and only to shared screen is being recorded . Do you what am I doing the wrong way ?
Great question. So it could be a number of things. If you are using the chrome extension (like I showcase in this video) scrub to minute 3:55 in this video where I explain how to select your computer camera. You may have to grant loom access to use your camera. Also, make sure there is nothing physically obscuring your lens. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions. 🤓
hey , Thankyou so much . I got loom desktop and its fixed@@timpeakman
@@rishikaaaa7276 this is great to hear! Well done. 🤩
did you create this video with Loom? can you switch from little webcam to full screen easy while in recording?
Hi Colin. Great questions and thanks for posting. So, no I didn’t use Loom to make this video. I actually create most of my TH-cam videos with Screenflow. It’s a video editing software for Mac users which allows for a bit more functionality within the edit. I use Loom for more informal video screen-captures. Loom has some functionality whereby you can move the webcam recording around the screen, but not to switch from in-picture to full screen. This video should help. th-cam.com/video/stwVQ_TOXy8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nk8Ej82oHlIBfcJG
@@timpeakman thanks for answering, I had this query :) and thanks for asking Colin :)
@@divinehealingsptc my pleasure. Glad I could help. 👍🏼
Is there a free option that allows you to record videos up to one hour? I only need it once every 3 months.
Thanks for posting your question. Unfortunately not. The free version only allows you to record up to 5 minute videos. But there is a monthly plan if you need to upgrade and downgrade as you go. Hope this helps. 🤓
I want to conduct outreach for my services using Loom
It's time consuming to visit each prospects website and create screen recordings so I'd like to pre-record a video and then attach it to the client's website for a personalized touch
Can this be achieved with Loom
If I understand your question correctly, yes. You could record a generic screen capture within Loom. Then you could personalise a message to each customer as you outreach to them, with a bespoke message to them and also include a link to your Loom video. You could even make a small selection of Loom videos so you could partially tailor your response to their needs. Hope this makes sense. 🤓
@@timpeakman Really appreciate your response
Let me clarify my query
I'm looking to enhance my outreach by featuring the prospect's website page as the background in a Loom video giving it a personalized touch
However I’d like the video in the circular Loom frame at the bottom to be pre-recorded
This way it appears as if I created a tailor-made video for each prospect
Any insights on achieving this in Loom would be really helpful
Also is it possible to include a Loom link in the connection request message when using Sales Navigator on LinkedIn?
@@ps1011aha. I understand now. So to do this, you will need two separate recordings and then edit them together. This is possible with something like Screenflow. Then you would have to upload the edited video into Loom and then share the link. You may be able to add this link into your LinkedIn outreach too. I haven’t tested this myself. You may find this video helpful. th-cam.com/video/stwVQ_TOXy8/w-d-xo.html
@@timpeakman Thank you
Love how you always reply to comments
Your responses are super helpful 🙌
@@ps1011 absolutely. It’s my pleasure. 🙌🏽
Is it 25 five minute videos per month in the free version?
Hey Freddy. Not quite. It’s up to 25 videos / person (total) and up to 5 mins / video. It’s unlimited on the paid version. Which is now what I use. www.loom.com/pricing
How do you do a face cam at the bottom or top
Please help
Hey Tyson. If you scrub to minute 3:55 in this video, you can select the camera you want to use. When you start recording you can click and drag the camera icon to wherever you like on the screen. Hope this helps.
Thanks so much.
I was wondering how to do that
Also do you need one device
My Loom doesn’t give me all those options
Thanks for your comment. Which options are you referring to specifically? Maybe I can help with that. 🤓
@@timpeakman I did not have all options to make any changes… i had to get the chrome extensions to get any options…
@@Queen-Off-All yes, I use the chrome extension for all my recordings - you get a few more options with it. Hope this helps. :)
@@timpeakman i did and it worked! Thank you…
Thank you!
You’re so welcome. Hope it has helped you. 🙏🏼
