Great white shark sightings increasing along Canada’s east coast

- There is growing evidence that the number of great white shark sightings along Canada’s east coast is increasing, which has prompted plans to post warning signs for beachgoers for the first time.
Dalhousie University’s Ocean Tracking Network says the population of these apex predators is making a comeback thanks to successful conservation measures and a rapidly growing food supply.
Experts say beachgoers don’t need to be overly concerned, but should educate themselves about how to avoid encounters and stay safe.

As a Canadian this news report is embarrassing and hilarious. First off GW’s have been in those waters for a while now. Second… I did not see one GW in any footage 🤔 Third…. Being prepared is the best defence? Prepared how?? Like when you go into the mountains? Dress for the weather? Pepper spray? Wear bells? Make noise? 🤣🤣 Only thing you can do is to be prepared what to do if you are attacked or to help someone else like get them to shore and stop the bleeding. Um, the sharks you are showing are tiger sharks. If you are going to show stock videos, it's quite easy to pick the right type of shark you are talking about. And, don't show a diver feeding them. That's promoting bad human behavior. We are told not to feed wild animals of all kinds, but you are promoting that it is ok to feed sharks????

Start of the video and 1:03 are clearly tiger sharks. A simple search on google images will show you 😊 the sign they placed on the shore however is a white definitely.

A Great White shark has a pointy snout, Tiger sharks have a broad snout.
In addition, the tiger shark has vertical stripes on its side, hence the name.
They’re also spotted on the west coast of Vancouver island I remember as a kid there was one near the dock we swam at never heard of any attacks
I hope there are no electric boats sinking near these Great White Tiger sharks!

Amazing. Sharks eat seals, seals eat cod fish, humans eat seals and cod fish. Stop people from fishing cod and stop them from hunting seals and what happens???
