I grew up poor as a kid in the 80’s. Never had the urge to steal anything. Must have been the threat of an ass whooping from my 5’4” mama.
That or the knowledge that you would be able to buy things with your pay.

Maybe if Cons didn't underfund courts, causing a constant 1200+ backlog like in Alberta, criminals wouldn't be walking away. Cons are cons, so it makes sense their "tough on crime" approach allows criminals to walk free. They wouldn't want to be charged for stealing trillions from taxpayers after all

This has been going on for years. My cousin came over one day with a bag like that full of items. She was trying to impres her boyfriend and stole clothes for his young daughter. The boyfriend thought she bought the items, but then again he may have known.

The Gypsy’s are doing this in groups up & down corridors off of freeways as they use the freeways together lost in traffic to get away. We are in Wa. State & this has been going on for quite awhile off of the I-5 corridor

Saturday I was in Lowes and a 13%er came strolling through the garden department with a cart full of hand tools and stuff. The theft scanners went off and the cashier yells Sir, I think you forgot to pay for something. He would have gotten away with the cart but this dude tipped the cart over dumping the stuff everywhere on the sidewalk. The 13%er grabbed a few things and ran off.
They don't care about foil lined bags anymore. Maybe he should of wrapped his cart in foil and the alarm wouldn't have gone off

Well with stores getting rid of plastic bags...
I remember back in the 50s&60s some small stores would only allow 2 or 3 kids in at a time. Cut down on theft.
This is old news. They've been doing this 30 years ago. In Philly, where i grew up, they call them felony bags.
ive seen ladies wear those big skirts in stores n they can hardly walk.
Bags should be booked in at the entrance before entering the store !!

0:20 Unsure if several layers of aluminum foil will block RFID and other radiofrequency signals but a Faraday Bag will but they're expensive to buy. Anyway, to test your home-made multi-layered foil bag, get an old-fashioned small battery-powered radio, turn it on, tune to a station, volume set to maximum, put it inside your layered foil bag and close it. Still hear the station? Your foil bag is worthless.

Make a tag that buzzes or beeps if suddenly cut off from a paired wifi signal in the store.
So everything needs to be behind glass and when you’re ready to buy they come unlock it for you. I would not blame stores for doing that.

Back in the 70’s the law and security students from St Lawrence college were brought in to test the new security system at the Sears in Kingston. The students did the same thing sewing big pockets into their jackets. When the students were done Sears revamped their security again.

Why bother, some stores dont even stop you from wheeling a cart full of merchandise out the door. The owner of my local skate shop is known for chasing down thieves, nobody steals from that place.
In a way retail theft of large stores drive up prices and allow smaller businesses to compete. These thieves know who they can and cannot steal from.😊😊

They may be from Romania but they’re not of Romanian ethnicity. YT blocks mention of what ethnic group commits crimes “like pack of wolves”. Whoever identifies them gets a suspension from YT commenting, so if you can’t find out from other sources you’ll go to your grave not knowing.

Canada is not doing so well the last few years especially. Violent crimes up, stealing increases etc...Housing is so incredibly unaffordable so most of people's montly money goes towards housing and then all other necessities are being stolen to survive. That's how it goes when times are tough.

Criminal also need to know that security cameras can get very detailed images with facial recognition. Retailers are saving your theft history to charges you with a bigger crime because of the amount you steal over time. Facial recognition programs are having it where they follow you every step you are in the stores and every store you go to of theres.
