A great tip that helps me buy gifts for family and friends is, I keep a "gift list" note on my phone with things that person has mentioned at some point or things I've seen while out shopping or on social media, trends with makeup for my sister's etc. For example, recently, my husband has been talking about how our town built a pickleball court nearby, so I added a pickleball paddle set to his "gift list". So the next time there's a birthday or father's day, I glance at the gift list and pick one of those items to gift! It's extremely thoughtful and makes it much easier!

I think gift expectations are something that can be discussed near the start of the relationship. I know anniversaries and these celebrations can be a really big deal for some people while for others its like ???? They could have trouble planning things, or have trouble picking gifts or just really bad at remembering dates. Effort is the big thing, and I definitely think the guy in the scenario was in the wrong, but I also feel like it's something important to touch on and figure out early on rather than be seven years into a relationship and feel like you're not being appreciated cause they don't listen when you state your preferences.
Personally, I brought it up with my husband back when we were engaged so we could establish things early on. I'm a big gift giver, but I rather do it when I feel like. So we both agreed no birthdays, no anniversaries, nothing. I get him gifts, big or small depending on my mood, whenever I feel like it. He gets me gifts, big or small, whenever he feels like it. If he goes somewhere and I ask specifically for a souvenir he gets me one, vice versa.
No hurt feelings. No let down expectations.

Ok so I'm new to watching your videos, I'm not sure how I came across but I watch on YT , so this guy is just a jerk for real like she gives you a gift for everything and you can't put in effort for her 😮 we always give hints as to what we like or want bro just has to be listened to his wife.
