Thx for the video. My '19 Camaro w/ the A8 has had a harsh 1st to 2nd from the day bought it. Dealer showed me a bulletin that GM released saying that it's building line pressure and normal. Only happens once a day. OK fine. Now I have a shudder. So here we go... wish me luck.
This is why I prefer used older cars the people who buy brand new get to be the test subjects and find the problems and flaws fight it out with the manufacturers and by the time I get the car either the problem is already fixed or there’s already a solution and I just gotta ask the dealer before buying to deal with that 🥰 my 2017 2SS has had the starter replaced, has the extra ground wire, previous owner switched the fluids and put the Mobil 1 full synthetic oil recommended to fix the shutter problem in it for the last couple years rides like a dream ❤
This is another example of why every Chevrolet I have ever owned minus 1 has had three pedals. The 10 speeds are better but also not completely designed by GM. I did a 6 speed manual swap on the 02 Z and havent looked back
Yes! Same exact story for me! Like exactly I get my car back tmr currently have 85,000 miles bought it with same problems car had 3 owners and they all got frustrated because the dealers they went to were like the first one you were talking about but I know a dealer that knows there shit I brought it there and it’s fixed day and night
2 years and 10k mine has been fine, sometimes it is a matter of finding the right dealer. But you shouldn’t have to struggle with a problem like this, manufacturers should be more proactive.
The newer Chevy trucks have had similar trouble. My friends .I believe it was the 8 speed in a 2017 or 2018 model...He said sometimes it fell like he was getting rear-ended....He finally got GM to buy the truck back and got a newer model..He said he came out good on the deal in the end.
Got same fifty edition,,love car but started to flounder at 60mph at 11,000 miles.. they just did triple flush too..they said the fluid didn't have enough friction modifiers in it..hope fix the issue..now I see they have recall on steering issues..wtf..love this car hope they get her running good again
I've had mine two years. Purchased it new. First thing that went wrong was the trunk latch. Pops up on the display and will not go away. Dealership replaced it. Second issue I had the front end was out of alignment. On multiple occasions now the car will not recognize the key for certain periods of time. You have to flush the transmission fluid every 10,000 Mi or you get a deathly shimmy in it when trying to accelerate. Temperature gauge went out. Replaced it. Obviously wasn't the problem. Temperature gauge went out again, replaced the thermostat and the temperature gauge which requires intake removal. Nothing seems to solve this problem. I have no temperature gauge. It's 103° I have no air conditioner unless I disconnect the battery terminal for a few moments. Mind you I do this every single day!
Issue has been resolved so not a lemon 🍋 at all ' this coming from a 16 2SS owner that had the torque converter shutter that is no more an issue. Mobile 1 blue label and find you a speed shop to tune out the slip and it's a solid transmission . BTW when mine started doing the shudder I drove in manual mode and it never did it while in manual mode.
similar problem different issue but the dealership I bought it from had no idea what the issue was but the next chevy dealer knew what it was before I even finished explaining what the problem was.
Hey just bought same car 10/24/20 and it been nothing but a big headache and it was certified pre owned Transmission issuses. Battery replacement transmission harness replacement and squeaking brakes. And recently today 1/22/21. Found and decomposed RAT in bottom of engine. Only had car less than 90 days and it lives the shop what a lemon. I agree
Having same problem with my 2016 v6 automatic 8. They flushed it and went away. At 150 mile later and still running good. Hoping I can get the transmission replaced as easy as you did.
Hey Jared, do you still have ur v6? I have a 2017 RS that is shifts real rough from park into reverse....what transmission do these have and what could I do?
I had the same exact issue with my A8! I had the flash, flush and then I got my torque converter replaced. Works like a charm now! You were in mentor? As in mentor Ohio?
Do you still have the car and how has it been running? Bought the same Fifty, I’m having the same issue and I have an appointment with the dealer for the triple flush Thursday, 1/30/20. I’m hoping that should fix the problem.
Unlimited RV I’m getting like a clunk noise wen I’m in gear n push clutch back in but doesn’t do it all the time sounds like it’s coming from tranny or I been thinking throw out bearing

Great video I have these problems as well will be getting this fixed
Thanks for the info👍🏾👍🏾😎
I bought mine used and the problem had already been addressed so I scooped it up
Great thing about buying used same thing for my 2017 2ss
Did the dealer make you pay for the service?
Great information to know I'm planning on getting an automatic transmission. So thanks for the heads up.
I had the same exact issue with my A8! I had the flash, flush and then I got my torque converter replaced. Works like a charm now!
You were in mentor? As in mentor Ohio?
Connecticut
Just get the transmission flush problem solved
Is this just for automatics?
Yes

They did the flush and it fixed it. I’ve been driving it ever since with no problem.. I did notice that it shifts better.
GM supposedly has a fix now, new tool made by Bosch to keep humidity out of trans fluid during refill
I've read this as well, but how do you get the dealer to actually do anything?
Does this only happens to the gen6 SS / V8, or has there been any reports of it happening to the V6 with the A8 as well?
As of v6 i had a problem with misfires in 3 or 4 cylinders a couple years ago, had to lemon law it
Have u heard anything abt the 6speed trans
Unlimited RV I’m getting like a clunk noise wen I’m in gear n push clutch back in but doesn’t do it all the time sounds like it’s coming from tranny or I been thinking throw out bearing
Not that I know of
Thanks! I just bought RS 50th anniversary. Is it just the SS with the manual? Making sure I heard you right.
It was an 8 speed automatic transmission problem so if the RS came with that then yea it has the problem too
Thanks for the information.
That sounds like the dealer alright
Same e act story 4 me
I have a 2016 camaro rs full of problems
I had a 2016 rs as well, i lemon law mine
