My name is Matthew and I live in a van. I lost my job due to "cut backs" from the pandemic of 2020 and decided to seriously restructure my life. I am also a single dad who needed to find a solution that would allow me to remain in my daughter's life and plan for her future. After tons of research into #vanlife, I knew it was for me.
From March 2021 until October 2021 I spent my days building out my Chevrolet Express 2500, which came to be known as "Lucky" and as of October 18, 2021 I have been living in Lucky full time.
The build was done with almost no experience on my end and I used the one incredible tool I had at my disposal - the internet - to learn what I needed to build Lucky into a very comfortable tiny home.
I have always had a bit of a passion for being in front of the camera and really enjoy capturing the world around us. This really played into how I was feeling after almost a year of working from home when I "commuted" from the bedroom to the couch. I was starting to feel extremely unhealthy, unmotivated and despondent. I HATED that, and that's not a word I like to throw around. This new lifestyle gives me opportunities I just didn't have before and I am so excited to be able to share it all with you.
I truly believe we all have the capabilities to turn our lives around, should we choose to do so - and if I can inspire you to shoot for something better then I have done a decent job and that will keep me going.
There is more to life than the consume, consume, spend, spend lifestyle I feel we have all been conditioned to follow and I just want to do the best I can for myself first and foremost. Our time is limited and I do not want to waste another second on a lifestyle that doesn't bring me joy!

Get you a mudflap the goes all the way across the rear of your van, it will help your jeep from alot of stone chips, and save your a/c condenser and radiator, I have repaired so many in our shop, and there not getting any cheaper in this day and age, last one cost our customer about 1,500 hundred in parts and labor, keep the videos coming and don’t swim with the dead fish 😎

Matthew it's called a grocery cart😂😂😂😂❤ As a person with a disability the cart helps me walk with lesser pain in store & then to my vehicle to unload😊
I've had bad knees for long enough that I think of a grocery cart as more of a walking aid than an arm-free-er.
I've had the first knee replaced. I'm pleased with the results, on the whole. Enough that I'm planning on doing the other.
Remember, where attention goes energy flows. Put out there what you want, not what you don’t want. So, I’m going to say quality content, quality content.

Hi Matthew, I just watched you toasting your waffles. Not sure if you’ve ever tried this but yogurt scooped onto your toasted waffles taste great. Just remember to cool the waffles for about one minute before scooping the yogurt onto them 🧡

Stainless steel nuts/bolts LOVE to gaul when tightening. Needs antiseize - the hardware store might have tiny tubes of the stuff, else, grease might work.

I have noticed when I'm out in the backcountry with Tank Girl and Jet Girl there is A LOT more outdoor time. Last weekend I literally got up early, went for a walk, and spent the rest of the day sitting outside and finished a book...no music, no videos, no computer time...just me, my water, and my book. Most relaxing time I've had in awhile.
So cool you gotta spend time with Byron for a birthday shindig...and girl power to Amber for replacing her starter motor!!!

Suckage about the bolt. Ty for the park, I haven't been there in awhile, with my mother a long time ago. Also woodbine, I have many good memories visiting friends near there, gr8 people. Solar in the coast has had me pretty full. These days in the sun I have been over 30C. My fans can't keep up. I am keeping one eye on my inverter as it has hit 90F with its fans not turning on....also China. Cool nights at 10C are bliss.

IN the future Matthew problems, use teflon tape or paste when assembling stainless steel nuts and bolts. stainless hardware likes to fuse itself together as you found out.
