I saw the 1989 gig at Roppongi PIT INN, Tokyo, Japan on May 2, 1989. I was also fortunate enough to be at the soundcheck and Allan was playing his Synthaxe. Got to talk to Gary Husband during soundcheck and he was excited that Allan was heading with him to do the Level 42 "Guaranteed" album after that tour. Steve Hunt was a perfect match for Holdsworth IMO!

Might go to check out Elektrik Market at the Lilypad in Cambridge on Aug 20th, to see him jam with Ervin Dhimo on Bass and Jovon Bell on Drums. Have seen him jam with Ervin a few times before. Great shout out to Bruce Bartlett!

I recall once at Ryles in Inman Sq. (Pat Metheney's favorite place to play when he's in town. Shame it's been closed down about 5 years now) once when his fingers were cooking during a solo. I said what it looks like they may fall off they are going too fast. A musician (I suspect) that was sitting next to us goes "It's ok he's got another set in his bag" Good times!
