Thank you for putting together an actual worked up project and composition. I've been a musician for many years, and have also been in IT for many years. You would think I would have used my skill in the IT world to finally create music of my own, but it didn't work out that way until now. Obviously I'm seeing a lot of changes in music, and quite honestly a change for the worst when it comes to creativity. This could be because there is so much available now in the way of tools that we did not have back in the 80's and 90's which may take away one's ability to be forced into the music side of the production. In any case, you've done a great job explaining how to create the rough tracks, and you've done quite humbly which is just refreshing. I haven't finished watching so I'm back to it. Very well done, cheers!
This is a very helpful series. I'm just getting started and this channel is helping me tremendously! However, are there any instructional/tutorial videos dedicated to tracking/mixing with reaper only? As in, without using $500 plug ins like Ez-whatever? I'd like to see how accomplish this same result using what reaper provides already as these super expensive plug ins are not yet in my budget. Thanks for everything thus far!
First off, i just wanted to say thank you so much for the tutorials you've put out. I really love the way you have reaper set up and i have changed mine to look similar, with the help of your other videos. One question i do have though: How can i get the 2 sections you have to the left of reaper? The ones above the master mixer. I really love how you have buttons to change the color of tracks. I tried figuring it out with the help of your custom actions video but im stumped.
Like what you do, glad to have discovered this site. Question: How do I get my Reaper template setup to look like yours. I can see that the screen looks like you can just drop in plugin or effects and keep 7t simple, would appreciate anything you can offer. Thanks again. your very thorough.
I put a video together on how to customise Reaper (which is pretty much what I've done), you can view it here: th-cam.com/video/n2DNR292ZKM/w-d-xo.html
Hi! I just bought a new laptop and I need to move all my plugins to the new one. How can I export all of them in one directory?? they all store in different directories, is a mess. Thanks! huge fan of the channel :)
Hey Gus. The first thing I'd do is create a backup from the Preferences section in Reaper. This will transfer 99% of your setup over excluding the license key and the Lame DLL, but that's only a quick process to wrap up. As for the VST's and plugins, that's not so straightforward. Many will just need a single .dll file to operate and copying those over is painless. Just drop them into your VST folder (I tend to create a dedicated VST folder in my user folder for ease) and make sure Reaper is looking there and it should pick those up fine. If the VST is using a full installer then that isn't so straightforward and will more than likely require reinstalling.
Hi, thanks a lot! I set up everything on my new laptop but with the only difference that now I have a different folder structure for my projects. I encounter with another problem, my projects now sounds like crap now, even if I draw and drop a mp3 in reaper, it sounds very bad. Any clue what could be the problem?
Tbh, I think I'll revisit this series and try to get part 3 up for this weeks new tutorial. I completely forgot about this series, so great to have a reminder. :)

Not at all sure what you did to indent the bass tracks.
