Thanks! Enjoy your videos. Honestly thought you’d be making more with all the work but I’m glad you are satisfied. I plan on spending a lot of time in Thailand in the future and your videos are helpful. Keep up the good work. Jim happy new year.
As much as I watch TH-cam, I've never seen anybody go in depth the way you have on a subject like this. I love this style of this video along with the interview videos so we can see real people with real budgets for real reasons why they've moved.
Great video Jon, I enjoyed watching as someone who has just moved to Thailand and started a channel of my own it’s great to see people who have started at the ground up and built their channels. It inspires me to do the same yet also reminds me of myself we all start at zero and have to put in the work to grow.
A Belated Happy New Year from the States, Jon! I am Very Much looking forward to getting back to Chiang Mai soon when my Cathay Pacific flights get in from Boston & Hong Kong! Cheers to you and your lovely 'ying from Cape Cod! 🙂
cheers for the info man 👍 really helps as I am also in Thailand creating content, on my way to monetization but not quite there yet but really enjoying the youtube journey ▶️
Keep working at it Jon, I'm a fan, it'll pay off. I was in Thailand and fell in love with the country and the people just 2 weeks ago. I'm hoping to move there in 3 years or less and do what you're doing, having a channel. It helps me to see how much you're making, so thanks for that.
this is very interesting as someone looking at moving to Thailand to do TH-cam as something to do while I am there... I have other stable income as well but I am curious about how much channels actually make as a gauge of what is possible... thanks for sharing what normally would be personal info! cheers and Happy New Year to you and everyone else!!
Two channels that have also discussed how much money they make from YT plus endorsements are CB Media & Keis One. I have to admit I was staggered by the serious amount of money they make just from making content
Not bad at all, turning a hobby into making money is always nice. Like you have said, make videos that you enjoy 🙂enjoy it and it will come across in the video, the money side of things will then come, just don't make it the main focus 😉 Personally, the “raw vlogging” style is more interesting than the clean-cut videos that are out there (other channels) at the moment. Anyway lol… Hope all is good, and onwards and upwards for the new year 🥳
Very interesting video. To be honest, I wouldn't have thought a channel with around 7.5k subs would earn that much. It must be very encouraging. Keep up the good work
Stick with it Jon, nothing worthwhile comes easy. If U-tube pays more for subscribers watching from the west, maybe you could interview more westerners retiring in CM? Good luck & Happy 2025🎉🙏
The problem you and many others have trying to make a living vlogging in Thailand is that it is an extremely crowded market. There are literally dozens and dozens all pretty much putting out similar content. The ones that do really well are generally the bar owners and/or concentrate on the bars.
Great vid Jon. A question for you - how often does YT pay it's TH-camrs like yourself? Monthly? Also, around Aug 29, 2024 your graph with the blue line for your main channel made a huge jump. Any idea why that was?
Its a very good level in my opinion, well done, have you ever considered investing in a drone?, that would make great and interesting videos, and not many youtubers based in thailand doing it, at least not outside of the tourist areas, i bought myself a drone 3 months ago, and im an addict, lol May i wish you and youre family a happy new year and good luck
@@jondcanton Ssh, a celebraty, as you, in the livestream would be a thing. But okay, there is a change I am out on Friday too 😁 Hope to see you, Jon. Best Wishes. 👍
Thailand must have a bazillion vloggers many of which put out the same regurgitated content over and over again. Its been vlogged to death. I follow a few content providers and its only a handful that still provide interesting or unique content. Some of the better ones that I like, have far fewer subscribers than I would have expected. Probably for that reason, that there ARE SO MANY vloggers in Thailand! I actually feel sorry for the Thai people that their country has been exploited so much and paraded on YT by all these vloggers Its to their credit that their culture of live & let live, means they don't criticize or object too much.
My most conservative stock market investment makes me $1000 month in dividends and requires no work at all. Seems like TH-cam has become a waste of time from a profit perspective
Believe it or not but most people can’t purchase the amount of stocks you need to get a $1000 return monthly in dividends. And comparing what you make to what someone else’s options are doesn’t mean it’s a waste of time. I made maybe 6 figures with my investments last year, 1k a month seems like picking up quarters of the sidewalk. Not worth the effort from a profit perspective
Yes, dividends is truely a passive income. YT videos is a LOT of work! And 98% of YT’s fail. That dividend income is money in the bank 24 hrs a day even while you sleep. No effort at all. Well done. I’m in the same boat.
I’m not getting it mate, you made $4000 for the month on TH-cam, $1000 + USD a month income!! You say you can’t live of that in Thailand ? 16:10 something isn’t right….
It is a saturated market. Thailand is very easy to live in, and every guy with a camera starts a TH-cam channel. There are only so many times you can hit the same ideas, unless you’re talking about bar girls. There are channels that only do that and hit tons of views every time. A brief look at the thumbnails shows they don’t even need a dedicated target audience to get lots of clicks,
100% this. Its saturated and most provide similar content or boring content about their lives. You can't make up endless content when living in Thailand or document your life each day because it quickly gets stake and boring. I also head that many quit YT or move on for that reason. Run out of things to vlog about plus endless competition from every other Johnnys putting out the same rubbish content. It gets old very quickly.
Thanks! Enjoy your videos. Honestly thought you’d be making more with all the work but I’m glad you are satisfied. I plan on spending a lot of time in Thailand in the future and your videos are helpful. Keep up the good work. Jim happy new year.

Happy New Year Mr and Mrs Jon and Mom. 2024 was a mixed bag but you've overcome it with your positivity. Keep going for 2025.

Your vids on KL have helped me, going there in a few days ... thanks jon 👍
KL was great we stayed at the AXXON apartments (great) be aware that you can’t get in before 3pm though…
Thanks! Your on your way

How do you like the Leo Supreme? Beer review please .
You are doing great 🙏Turning a hobby into a full-time income is not easy. It takes time. Think long-term, make content, and one day you get there 👌
Thanks mate, yeah I'm happy with the way things are going on the channel so far, hope your channel is doing well :)

Thanks mate, yeah I used to have a drone but I found after the initial few months excitement I hardly used it :)
That's pretty good. That'd pay for my rent each month when averaged out.
Why don’t you react to all kinds of south East Asian content on that other channel instead
Im going to use the channel for something just not 100% yet :)
🎉 Do you come out tonight, Jon. Meaning NYE 🎉😅

Video is a bit confusing so...bottom line you made 4000 USD last year (approx), did I read that correctly? Nice (if correct).
I shared the total amount from TH-cam right at the end of the video :)
@@jondcantonthanks, your ramble was not easy to digest 😊
Would you describe yourself as having a drinking habit?
What happend to the new buisness idea 💡 you were excited about?
Utube stinks. Non monetized they dump you after 500 to 1,000 views.
Google utube meta need to be investigated
