Agreed, I was hoping for at least 7 seasons, dealing with the Romulan war and more about the beginning of the federation. Season 5-6 Romulan war, season 7 jumping ahead to early days of the UFP. I thought it was really good from day one. The first two season pure early Starfleet exploratory episodes, loved it! Season the Xindi arc and all the goodies in season 4. I remember hearing of the cancellation when it was on air, I was furious.

I still maintain that what we saw was a dramatisation of the NX-01's last mission, and inaccuracies often creep into dramatisations. One such inaccuracy was, for whatever reason, Tripp's death.

even if taking what we saw as canon with teh holo program . the fact is Phlox never called it . Trip was put in a chamber as a last resort . if trip was dead the crew would not be as they where as Archer was about to give teh SPEECH . they would have been beyond devastated . I keep think Trip and T Pol did get together and had kids . maybe they found a planet and lived there as it was still a controversy to have interspecies mating even in spocks time

I think it would be amazing if Trip came back in Strange New Worlds as a former Section 31 agent...or reactivated even. Its possible because many trek characters have appeared living over 100 years old. Maybe he could use the Michael Kenmore alias and put some revealing references for the uninitiated. It would just be amazing and a tribute to a rudely abrupt ending to Enterprise at its stellar 4th season.

I'd rather the Ferengis stay out of the stories (as the other "ST" stories) and let "Enterprise" stand alone w/o their "help". Riker and Troi interfered with the real story and we didn't get to see the end with T'Pol meeting Trip under the steps. I had to read the books, but enjoyed them. Maybe, if we can't get a continued series or movies, I guess we fans will have to read more books like we did at the end of "TOS" til we got "TAS" and "ST:TMP".

  • @toddnolastname4485

I'm glad they did the last episode the way they did. That left it open for ways to reveal that Trip didn't die. Like the novels that say his death was faked, and he became an agent, going undercover. Or just that the writer of that holo program decided it needed a death.

  • @TheRealZarp
    @TheRealZarp 3 ปีที่แล้ว +37

It was a hologram so maybe Riker programmed his "death" because he wanted to see how the early Starfleet crews dealt with the loss of a close crewmate. It could've easily have been Captain Archer. Real Tripp is alive and well

Indeed, Trip did *not* die, but it had nothing to do with Section 31; Rather, it was Riker's holodeck program that misled us. Riker actually programmed a change in the historical playback in order to find out how Archer would have reacted to Tucker's death. Unfortunately, this wasn't made clear in the episode. The best way to deal with this oversight would be either to simply edit the scenes relating to Tucker's death out, or to forget this episode ever happened, and never watch it again. (Sorry, but Trip could never pass as a Romulan. Not with *that* accent!)

    • @MsSissiePooh

There is no theory, mate, there are some Section 31 books, set during a certain DS9 Episode, narrated by Bashir, that confirm that Tucker was recruited by them, faking his own death to do that, worked for them for some time, shortly after, Archer and T'Pol found out he was alive albeit with another name. Tucker and T'Pol rekindled their relation, keepng it a secret, and after he completed his mission and after some preassure from Archer, S-31 released and alowed him, with his new name, to go live with T'Pol, in Vulcan!!!!!

  • @trevorwhite915

And It’s not like Connor wanted to leave the show or something. Jadzia sucked as well but we know of the issue behind cameras. They probably did kill the character but new shows can rewrite what happened to him based on these theories.

Geez, my mate Malcolm Reed can’t catch a break. First he has a horrendous childhood where he is led to believe he is a failure by his father (and mother?) because he is afraid of water and chooses to join Starfleet instead of following the rest of the Reeds into the Royal Navy… Then he’s constantly ignored by the overly friendly Captain Archer when it comes to security concerns… Then he’s forced to continue working with Section 31 against his captain and ship… And now he apparently had his chance of any future heirs ruined by a bloody transporter?? It’s bad enough that Enterprise seemingly forgot about Malcolm, Hoshi, and Travis lol

I wouldn't have watched the entire series had I known Trip would die like that. 1001 plans they can all come up on the fly to thwart the bad guys, but this time, this one time alone he decides to blow himself up? And how did the sensors not detect the enemy vessel that day? or where they boarded? So many bizarre circumstances that the writers don't really account for. At least if they make a movie, they can come up with something like this video.

It's nice to envision a future for Tripp & T'Pol beyond Riker's icky fan fiction, but this truly seems like an unnecessarily long road. My headcanon is that Tripp was recruited and did one mission for S31 and then he returned to his normal life very much like Bahir would do years later.

I think you have a GREAT Cardassian voice! And thanks for refreshing my memory on the ENT relaunch novels; I read all of them and enjoyed them. But I gotta say, the whole premise for Trip established in "The Good that Men Do" and carried forward was so convoluted and unnecessary, it never made any sense. In other words, okay, canonically Trip was "killed" in that equally incoherent finale episode "These Are The Voyages," set YEARS after "Terra Prime" and the rest of the series. And the premise for these novels is going to be that, in the future, old men Jake and Nog uncover a conspiracy proving that, no, Trip's death was staged. Okay, fine, so far I'm with you. But then, Jake and Nog, tell us that, oh no, Trip didn't actually "die" in 2161 as history has been propagandized. Those events actually took place years prior, some time shortly after "Terra Prime" so that average folks in the far future (who probably never heard of him anyway--seriously, he was the ship's mechanic) will be led to believe that Trip Tucker was actually STILL ALIVE!!! when he was...actually still alive. Wait. What??
Okay, hold on, let me try this conspiracy again: History was rewritten to so that average folks in the future are taught that Trip was actually still alive when he was actually still alive and that he "died" years later to...cover up his undercover activities leading up to and during the Romulan War...which happened years BEFORE his supposed death...so that the world believes that he died years AFTER he was supposedly still alive when he was...still alive. Meanwhile, fellow crewmembers in his own time (those who were not in on it), were led to believe that Trip was dead, contemporary news and media reported that he was "dead," the whole world was lead to believe that he was dead--and nobody from that time raised any question or objection when the history books began to shift those events around and claim that he was actually still alive when he supposed to be dead and, instead, "died" later. None of that makes any sense--and it was completely unnecessary.
The authors didn't need to twist themselves into a pretzel to reveal to the reader that Trip Tucker was actually still alive, set during a period we already knew that he was still alive. They could have written years worth of adventures for Trip (even clandestine adventures, Starfleet officers do it all the time) and then addressed his "death" when the timeline came to it. Is Strange New Worlds going to go out of its way to show us that Pike is still uninjured during a period that he is still uninjured?

I don't think Trip is dead at all. I consider that episode a huge error on the part of the Enterprise D's Holo deck history archives. It is simple as that. That last episode on Enterprise was hugely disrespectful towards the Enterprise series. I think everyone would rather just forget about it. In my mind there were many many more adventures for the entire crew of the Enterprise NX01, Trip simply never died in that manner nor in that time period. I am sure Trip had a lot to do with the second hull and large deflector they are destined to add to their ship. There are many more adventures to be had.

  • @makeminefreedom

No no that's not how Tucker survived. Because of the debt he owed Archer for restoring the future timeline Daniels the time traveler from the future removed Tucker from the ship just before the plasma conduit exploded. He was sent to the future so the timeline would not be contaminated. This is consistent with the time Capt Braxton recruited Seven of Nine and Janeway to save Voyager from being destroyed.
