Hey guys, The ZV-E10 was my favorite camera for a very long time. Unfortunately held back by some rather large issues which forced me to purchase the FX30 and the ZV-E1 shortly after that. SONY has a phenomenal ecosystem and I really do feel that their cameras are superior when it comes to VLOGGING. In this video, I give you my predictions and even throw out a crazy wish-list type of prediction which has it essentially emulates what FUJI is doing with the X100Vii cameras. Goofy stuff but one can wish :)
Can confirm, the "Z" in ZV-E10 does indeed stand for Zimbabwe lol

Also a big fan of the ZV line. Have the E10 and 1F. Really excited for this mark II. 10bit and 4K60 and I'm thrilled. Great vid man.
Thank you! I'm hyped for it as well TBH even though I said I wasn't interested in it Haha. I really love the E10 and if they can get 10bit 4K60 with good Dynamic stabilization I think it will be the best entry semi pro level camera on the market. I mean there's the DJI Pocket 3 but I don't really consider that in the same category since that is just a vlogging camera. Let's hope Sony doesn't drop the ball on this one.

You serious?! Hahahaha! I'm selling all my ZV cameras. Jokes! Yo how is the PZ lens? I bought the Sony 20-70 F4 lens but was so close to picking up the PZ lens instead. It's crazy how an F4 lens is totally fine with this camera because its so good in low light.
@@noisackda2564 it’s the only lens I own currently. But yeah, such a low light beast that it’s been great. Love the versatility of the power zoom especially with mostly video on a gimbal.
@@localdiscgolf Ahh and that's it right? If you fly on a gimbal then the PZ is a must. I get it now. Way more affordable than the unaffordable Sony 16-35 F2.6 G master.
@@localdiscgolfyou say the f4 16-35 is good, but do you use s cinetone or slog 3? Also how's the low light on a f4 lens in s cinetone because I don't get s log 3
@@JenaVlogs-sl1ow don’t tell anyone, but I film a fair bit in auto. Don’t get me wrong, if I have the time to grade… I do like slog and then cinetone is great too. I feel like a lot of people over-value how fast a lens needs to be. ZV-E1 is a beast and for me I value zoom variety/flexibility on a gimbal over a fast prime. All of my content is filmed with that setup and when I cheat in auto, I feel like it’s fast/easy and means I can get more content out.
I was really set on getting this, but no IBIS is a no go. BTW, it's not Sony's naming convention - it's all Japanese companies. TBH, I don't see why you don't add the Pocket 3 to your kit instead.
I'm actively looking for a pocket 3 in my area, but it's still on backorder. I'm fine with it TBH. The longer I wait the more I think I don't need it. It's a great vlogging kit but it's really not that diverse when you think about it.

Everyone’s talking about this camera, I kind of want to go for the fx30 for the easier premium microphone setup but if the upgrades on the zv-e10 mk ll are insane then that might be the choice
I can't speak negatively about the FX30. That's pretty much my baby 🥲. With that said, I would for sure wait until the reveal of the E10 mkii.
I'm a fellow ZV-E10 shooter. I upgraded to the a6700 this year, and it's a night and day difference. The IBIS makes it easier for me to adapt faster lenses like the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 and 10-18mm f2.8, which I currently have in my kit.
For talking headshots and anything else where you need a tripod, the ZV-E10 is fine for those applications. Even I find Catalyst Browse is a bit of a headache that I didn't often use since I used my ZV-E10 with OSS lenses and a gimbal.
I'd purchase the ZV-E10 Mark II if it shoots up to 4K60. As for IBIS, I can see why Sony wouldn't include it to keep the costs low as an entry-level camera for content creators.
It's funny how everyone feels the exact same about the ZV-E10. It's pretty glaring what the issues are. At this point, I would be shocked if the Mark2 didn't at least shoot 4k60. It all depends on how budget Sony is going to keep this thing I suppose. We will see soon.

I learned a ton about composition and video production with my ZV-E10. I don't regret buying it, and it'll be a sad day once I find a buyer for that and the lenses I used with that kit.

So the fx6's sensor went in the a7s3, fx3, zve1... And now it seems the fx30's sensor which went into a6700 is now going into the zve10ii's... Which makes me think they missed an opportunity to make a fx60 (a super 35 fx6) with internal nds. They could still do it but it would seem strange to have the zv line come out first.
Regardless, if the zve10ii has decent stability and is under $900 with kit lens, thatd be a great buy!
Also, I'm interested in the new kit lens if that rumor is also true!

Yes! The new kit lens. I'm curious as well, but it will most likely be poop. Not as poopy as the OG kit lens but a little less poop.

Im still using the ZV-E10 but since I pair it with vintage lenses It stays on a tripod with a fluid head or something stabile (I just picked up a slider and a small crane lol). My set up handheld is pretty much unusable. If I need handheld for a hiking footage I just use my Iphone 14 Pro on a selfie stick with feet.
Wow! You rigged your E10 up haha! That's dedication, sir. I'm way too lazy. I'm waiting for the iPhone 16. I was going to get the 15 but at this point, I'll just wait. Apparently, Apple log is pretty incredible so I can see myself vlogging with that potentially.
Thank you for mentioning the Phone to Camera upgrade path. I'm using my S21 Ultra and besides not having a flip out screen to frame myself easier. My phone does everything I need. Plus if I throw an ND filter on it and use the pro mode settings I can make my phone close to mirrorless. At least to an untrained eye it'll look indistinguishable in certain lighting conditions. So I agree upgrading to the zve10 currently is a hard sell. For the mkii I'm mainly looking forward to a new sensor, since the zve10 apparently uses the same sensor as the older 6000 series. I didn't know they were making the battery bigger so that's cool. I just hope the zve10 mkii gives phone users like myself a reason to want to step up.
So far what the zve10 has that a phone doesnt is; helps make data management easier to separate from the daily phone usage, interchangeable lens, larger sensor, and that's pretty much it for the big differences. Otherwise based on my research, as you say, using a phone overall is much simpler without having to push video through catalyst browse and stuff like that.
Yup, exactly as you said. And the crazy thing is smartphones are evolving a lot quicker than dedicated cameras. For me, The experience of shooting with a dedicated camera is also very important as well as data management as you've also said. I prefer to have my phone be a phone and not a camera simply because I associate it with work. I barely shoot video with it but if I didn't have my Sony's I would be completely fine. I would just get an external HD.
@@noisackda2564 That's what I'm going through right now as a beginner!!! My content media is mixed with my personal media on my phone and the management is hindering the process for me. But for now I'm making do I have a system

According to Diana Gladney who popped up on my recommended page, the mk ii might have the same sensor as the fx30 idk if you mentioned it in your video but that makes me excited. I want to buy a camera to last I don't want to get a camera that i'm going to grow out of super fast. I also hope it has a better stabalization option than just using catalyst browse after the fact.
@@antsalmon The sensor in the FX-30 is insanely good. If they drop that sensor in there I think that would be huge. I can't see the E10 mkii having IBIS though. It's too small of a camera. IBIS needs a lot of space to wiggle around in the body.
Can't stand cameras with little grip like the S9. Even though they are compact they are difficult to hold. I'm glad the grip will be better on this. As a photographer first though I'm very happy with my A6700.
I hear ya. I always have to buy a grip add-on for these cameras with small handles. It's damn annoying. I find that even with my ZV-E1 with the larger battery it's too small.
I agree 100%. If you are looking for a camera to take on a 2hr walk with you, these non ergonomical grips just don’t work. I have the A7C with the tiny Sony G lenses and find it just barely acceptable. I love the camera but frequently feel I’m going to drop it The A6700’s grip is no A7IV, (my favorite), but is a whole lot more ergonomical than A7C, and the even non existant grip on the panasonic S9.

Regarding the Xperia 1 VI. I like it but the sensor is far too small to have that 3D punch a dedicated camera has.
I'll be so disappointed if it doesn't have IBIS. I don't mind Catalyst except the free version only allows for 8-bit, 100mbps bit rate. IBIS offers so many advantages, I just can't ignore it any more. If it truly doesn't have IBIS, I may go A6700 or out of the Sony Ecosystem. I was really looking for a slightly scaled down, more video centric version of the A6700. Why Sony! Why?
Yeah I don't know man. If they keep the body the same size it's going to be hard since IBIS requires some space to move. They were able to do it for the E1 so never say never but the E1 is a little bigger than the ZV-E10. Plus IBIS will balloon cost quite it bit. They might just throw D active on it and most people will be happy with that I think. It works like a charm on the E1.
That might be helpful, but a 30% crop on top of the APSC crop is still pretty brutal. The reality is I really want the ZV-E1 but not willing to trade a vacation for it.

To be honest, until now for me the ZV line up was just Sony recycling old part with strategic changes and marketing: ZV1 --> RX100V, ZV-E10 --> a6100, a6400, ZVE1 --> A7SIII
Sony knows the importants and hype about content creation and recycling old part and market it with the vlogging aspect was great strategy for them. Since their stuff is technically really good look at how many creators has switched to Sony enjoying the lens choices (and being partly locked in :)
But the ZV-E10 II will probably be the first ZV camera, which will be a budget version of Sony current APSc flagship aka a6700.
It's basically Sony's responds to the Fuji XT50, but Sony is more video centric, Fuji more photo. And Fuji did the same for years for the 2 digit XT line up: Take the same sensor of the flagship, put it into a cheaper body and start cutting some features.
Based on this I agree with the rumors with no EVF like the mark I, no mechanical shutter, no AI chip, no IBIS and I expect a cheap body like the Mark I. Price has to be between the ZV-E1 and the A6700. Then they have three different cameras for different price ranges competing with Fuji, Canon and Nikon.
But I'm curious if it comes how the LUT support will look like and if this will be a teaser for future full frame cameras or dare I say firmware updates? :D

But in this video that AI autoframing was so random, it got somehow annoying in the end ^^''. In your Muay Thai vlog it work so much smoother and more natural - but I guess there is no way to custormize the settings in camera or app?

Yeah you know I had the autoframing set to super wide! I didn't even know it was an option but I'm glad it is! For this focal distance I should have used super cropped. There are three levels. I think that's why it wasn't functioning properly.
@@noisackda2564 Might be a good idea to make a video and perhaps I will. But I also try to shift my content more towards photography, which of course instantly has an impact on my traffic and views. But who am I talking to - you already experience it for a while 😅
