He knew the level... He also knew his right arm is not to the level it was. He may have underestimated Sergei a little bit. Travis just needs more time to train. He also needs to get bigger!
It has nothing to do with left or right arm. He just needs to prepare more seriously. His left isnt insane right now either, just because he beat Derek ...
It would be good to see. He didn't really manage his own expectations or even train properly. He lifted a bunch of weights but didn't do any real armwrestling preparations. Then went in against a still very good Brzenk and got dominated. Alexey needs to have matches against some journeymen to get those connection points built back up, and more activity on the table in general. Can't just do armwrestling in the weight room.
He jumped right back in at a high level, with his weaker arm. At least now he understands the level. He's only been training seriously again for a short time. Despite his outward confidence going into this, he can't be more than 80 or 85% right now. I hope he doesn't quit and this just lights a fire under him again.
It's interesting contemplating if the sport has gone to a brand new level from when Travis reigned, or if it's just Travis not being completely peaked.
Right, Kalinchenko is at a very high level. Been training way longer than Travis so nothing to feel bad about. Just need to get in more matches and table time
@@A_Mystery_Man it's a different level now for sure. But that's sport, everyone generally keeps getting better over time until it's a well refined long standing sport where there's diminishing returns. Armwrestling is so new in terms of being professional, that the quality of athletes will increase exponentially.
Nah he will come back left-handed but I think he'll train more this time around you could tell he was pissed but at same time never shy of showing who won. being sportsmanlike. He needs to go train hard come back with his left and I think he could still give people a run for their money.
I really want Travis keep going even if he would have a couple of losses at first. I wanted the same with Voevoda....... it just takes more time and ego is too big sometimes. But I 100% support Travis.
Travis had a realty check. I was right that Kalina was too much for his first come back right hand supermatch. He needs to scale with opponents not as dominant as Kalina, probably out of top 15.
to be fair, there were a lot of top level pullers getting 3-0 whacked. Travis didn't look much worse than Evgeny did against Irakli. He will definitely have to apply himself.
@@Pepe-pq3om not really he just hasn’t been tested much with the elites in EvW but the man is bigger than ever and most importantly he is versatile, he has many tool to battle anyone

Why are some of u acting like he's giving up? Did he say that once? No. He said his left is better than his right. Nothing wrong with going to ur strong arm for matches.
I feel bad for him but you know it was a lot to expect that he could have done a lot with Sergei.. that dude is super strong. It doesn't sound like it from this video but I sure hope he doesn't quit, I feel like he is one of the only things that will really make me want to stay around and stay watching sport because I'm just kind of got a little burnt out.
Man I wanted Travis so bad, it would've been a million times more fun to watch him winning at least 1 round but Sergey deserved that win and congratulations to him
You let me down big dog now that you got ur ass handed to u it’s time time to step up that gear and get to the next level need that 280 geared up Travis if u wanna be back on top
Like Voevoda, they have just been away for too long. Weightlifting only gets you a fraction of the way there; it takes table time. It takes tearing and rebuilding the connection points in the joint tissue, as well as the tightness and elasticity. It isn't that the sport progressed beyond them, just that they need to get their bodies back into armwrestling shape. And also take on some journeymen first to get some confidence back. Travis's left at least kicked off with a win.
not all people are willing to embarrass themselves in order to get the money they can earn from being at the top once. Objectively, there is no point in losing to everyone and winning only those who are at the very bottom, or who were invited like you because of past merits, but now cannot do anything. Travis simply doesn’t need anything more than money and a piece of fame. He's afraid that everyone will forget him, that's all. In my opinion, Voevoda just understand, that he will do nothing more.

@janindrektamm5233 but Travis at his best can compete with anyone imo right handed. He said he was only 60%. He just needs more time.

No beer + some 750 test cyp per week.
Nice to hear that he's not gonna stop coming back like Voevoda did. Travis actually loves the sport and will continue improving.
Voevoda planned an armfight at the end of this year
@@artemcyper that´s great to hear. Maybe they could have arm fight with Travis in the end of 2025 - right and left hand.

No way travis is even at 80% of what he used to be. Dude is probably at more like 65%
Sometimes you lose sometimes you win. Travis's existence is great for the sport.
for real
Travis pulled a top 15 opponent after having 6-7 years off
same denis pulled brzenk and after top 1 Larrat
@@ElFinoRojas yeah brzenk is a lot lighter than Denis and way past his prime. Denis and Travis both took too hard of matches for their second matches
Can’t be upset you lost. Just gotta keep at it and get hungry
Kalina beat Arif and was 50/50 with Dzeranov so no shame in losing after being away for so long. I’m much more interested in Travis pulling left

Dnt give up Travis! Glad to see ya back in action

Keep gaining back what is yours and ours to cherish!
Keep going, Travis! Wanna see you win on the left arm!!
Yes the beast is back! Couldn't be happier. He'll get it back soon enough
Left hand Beast is where it's at🦾
I think Travis should be ready for the top 10 in about 6 months to a year. If he dedicates himself to it seriously
matt mask vs travis right arm!
Personally expected it, idc really cuz its his right, now he has a better idea of the lvl so I'd like to see him level up his left and then go for it.
Travis style is the main reason I had success as novice, hope to see him come back maybe against the same guy but on the left in 6 months
Keep going champ! You didn’t have many ramp up matches….you can regain a good form! You can beat most everyone at 85%!!!
Last time Travis gets embarrassed... save this comment
