This is gold! Great method to generate your own grooves from your preselected sample sets and then sample out the bits that catch your ear. Once the chain is all set up - just keep at it till you find something that works. I wonder how many sample packs are churned out from something like this method? - You have provided so much quality content in such a short video. Thanks, again!!
I'm subscribing ... i mean.. great tutorial !!!! I work with ableton since 2004 , I've watched hundreds of video content for it , this video is absolutely gold !!! thank u!!!
thank you SO much for this idea. I love it! i created two LFO's, one for high and one for low. Out of sync, to get a bit more variaty in the sounds. But great starterkit! as a thank you, i bought some sound packs of you. Keep it going.
Hi! Your video was very interesting, have seen so many ableton tutorials but you did something quite unique- Thanks for getting my creative juices flowing! ;)
i hope that you will be in top 5 results when someone search for organic/progressive house tutorial for ableton. Im that kind of people that doesnt like using premade loops so much and also i like programing (or more like trying to program :D) percussions because it doesnt matter kind of synths and melody you have if you dont have a groove that makes context. Keep it up, you are doing awesome job, love your videos.
Problem. When I go between the 2 layers on the macro, the sound from the old layer I was one, the Hihat, will still be playing overtop of the cymbal sound and vise versa. If I goto the Hihat, I will then hear the cymbal sound I was scrolling through on the hihat layer. I can only get the other layer to stop playing if I solo each one as I listen. What is happening here and how do I fix it? I must have tried to do what you are doing 50 times and it keeps doing this.

Very brilliant video! I use this technique with the MPC1000 sending clock to Euclidian module in eurorack (for the Rythm) and a LFO thru a quantizer to randomize the sounds in the MPC program
Is that Randomize function only in Ableton 11 right? I have 10 and can't see how to do that, I'm usually just manually doing it or w the midi effect plugin
Also that Scale function where you can see the visible notes from which scale you pick in the piano roll?? That's super handy, and again I don't think it's in 10.
thx....great tip....Im new to A.L.11 every sample (in Sampler) have global & individual ADSR setting...?! what?!😱 Or Im wrong.? other setting too...? Omg... is the Sampler MPE ready.....? sry so much questions maybe some one could help... P.s. is there a chance the maped macro parameters are not deleted from the Push 2 Controller after mapping it to the LFo..
Hey man, I'm not sure if it's MPE ready to be honest. Yes the sampler has global and individual ADSR settings ;) Once you map the LFO to a parameter in Ableton you cannot automate or control it using the Push Controller. Cheers!
Why not? This isn't a million miles away from how a lot of early electronic music was made. Analogue patch synths use randomisation loads. Even a lot of modern electronic music uses randomisation. Dan Le Sac did a tutorial video for Computer Music Magazine about 15 years ago where he used a very similar technique to get some mad synth sounds.
@@davidlisteresq yes randomisation in synth Parameter values is a completely different story than randomisation in percussion. This is really no "game changer" and the expression is more a clickbite than anything else. The structure of percussion is repetitive and certainly cannot be use this way to make wonders or even be the main thing that is launching the track to the stars. There are many loop slicers and randomizers out there that might give you an idea but nothing what you showed in your video sounded even nearly good enough or at least having potential to be signed by a label or hooked up to an ear or an A&R. Use the technique but don't expect wonders with it.
video just started..... i have a better salutatio. it's call XO... been out for a while now... you should look into it 😉 i mean in all seriousness... this is no more than going thru your sample collection and building a kit.... like... you know... how it's been done since the stone age. Troglodyte stuff.

I tried this but with different hi-hat samples that are similar but not exact and it makes it sound so much more interesting, thanks for sharing this!

Wow Dude, that is impressive. I love this technik😍

Killer technique for creating cool minimal techno tracks, really really helpful 👍
Cheers mate. Thanks for the comment! :)
Hello, which daw do you use for that,, it is very good ?
Very cool! Can't wait to try :)
Great technique! Thanks! 🔥
Also there are many melodic instruments one-shots in sample packs. Do you have any info/techniques what to do with them?
Yeah this is a sick idea!
Cheers mate!
Wow man just what I needed to know! Thank you so much for this tutorial! 🤍🤍🫶🏼🍀
very cool ! thanks
Cool trick!
Bro! This is wicked!
Great bro..!!
;)
Duuuude... this is next level 😎
Love it! Only issue I'm having is that my LFO (Live 11.1.6) doesn't seem to have that option that allows it to create extra mappings...
@@marcophez6907 Really? that's odd...Try using both the LFO MIDI and LFO Audio tool.
Most useful Ableton content! thx mate for your work.
Love ya, thanks!

Got slightly different results of course, but still quite fun to learn something new and different. Cheers!
Very cool Dude, trying it right now, cheers!

super video again :)
Beautiful content 😮😮🤩🤯🤯
thank you! :)
amazing
Thx!
This is an absolute gem of a tool. Does it work in Ableton10?
Yes it does. :)
what a gemmm
How to do this in another ( i.e Studio one) DAW ?
Amazing tips here. Wish there was a way to do this in Logic…. Anyone got tips?
Saved!
What version of ableton are you using?
Nice!!!!
;)

Does this work in 11 standard or only in suite? 😄
Do your sample packs like Tulum ship with these kind of macros and layers for one shots?
Tulum comes with just the samples ;)
Amazing!
Amazing tutorial mate. Keep on going like that!
cheers! :)
I'm not an Ableton user but this is still very helpful, thanks!
Same same 😁
Amazing ❤
the way you said "Actually make something with them" LMAO💀

@@lotustunesacademy glad ....thx thx...
Why do you not simply use the drumrack?
I dont think a drum rack is as easy to do the sustain or LFO mapping is it?
Great! One shots can actually be used! 🤣
its annoying theres no max device that does this but acts as a step filter so you can get a repeating pattern of midi velocity
Damn, I’m old skool, I’m still used to create beats groovin the pads 🤣
u are a fucking genius broooooooo
Cheers 😄
Day 13 of watching LotusTunes videos : I still haven't bought Tulum, but I feel like my like my will to resist is fleeting
I broke my drawer and tried to compress it, but it didn't glue it. What is going on? Are you lying to people?
Hahaha 😄
Sick, dude. Thanks!
Cheers mate!
this is a better side of education
TOP 👌
Waw, it's going fast.
money I used to kinda do this with another daw but didn't know how to in ableton
This thumbnail was too much fun to make 😅
Why?
@@MCroppered The faces ;)
Interesting as a concept of possibility study but don't expect any hits using this technique.

A long shot, but any Cubase users out there know of a tutorial for a functionally equivalent workflow or do we have to invest in 2 DAWs? 😉
Are there really people out there who use tons of samples but don’t use one shots at all?
Very sus
You deserve some kisses
