I nearly missed this one Matt, only saw it by accident! I think as I’ve already commented previously on extended a-ha tracks…extended a-ha = extended pleasure! In the case of this extended version of SOTR it’s a delicious combination of prolonged enjoyment in being swept along on a harmonious wave of melody (thank you Mags for this your masterpiece) and that otherworldly voice of Morten’s taking us up on wings of flight into the stratosphere….its just wonderful!
@@ElanurMH Doing well here. My holidays were spent pet sitting and that was great. 🥰Good to see you here❤️ Hope you had good holidays as well. Happy New Year 🎊
While you were talking I read your t-shirt 😆. That's just class- I want one too! The one thing about SOTR that I have always loved was how much emotion Morten managed to convey... he's not just singing... he is channeling the melancholy and love the song wants to share. It was a different direction when it first came out.. but I never saw the albums as a "I would really love it if..." expectation. My expectation was "I am now going to hear where in their lives the guys are now"... I am 10 years their junior but it felt like my growing up milestones coincided with their albums... It was the right thing at the right time... and as I entered my 20s - EOTSWOTM and MB hit us and it was all perfect 😍. Well that was a bit of an essay - sorry! Lovely to see you all here in 2025 - 37 years since it was released...? (yikes?!) 🌹🕊
I agree, this extended version is an experience. ❤ I usually don't like extended versions, but this one just takes us to another place, even more than the album version. It is a rare (or even unique case) where I seem to enjoy the long version better than the original. The extra length seems to give us the time for the song to really sink in and to let us float with Morten's voice. Like you say in the end, it's just "more of that rich, soaring sonic goodness". ☺ Lucca at 1:47-2:06, so sweet! 😻 I love that she is back to being the Horizontal Cat, but this time she did it with a vengeance. 😸 How dare you interrupt her majesty's rest? 😹
Oh! I first heard this and The Blood that Moves the Body live before the album was released. They were epic - but the venue was nuts, Shelton Mallet UK, farming community so we were in what appeared to be a very large……farming building lol
I am the first? What the heck. No Handsolo? Weird.......Cue scary music.....😂 Well Matt, your interpretation is absolutely perfect. I mean, you're interpretation should be the official one, IMHO. I will just say what I said on a video of this song on TH-cam....".This song, sometimes there just aren’t the right words to say how amazing you think a song is or how it touches your soul. All I can say for sure is that Morten, Magne, and Pål are world treasures to me. ❤" I just copied what I actually said. I have that video saved on my AHA list. It's the very first song. It was just a pleasure sitting here and listening to this full version. I kept closing my eyes and drifting away up there in the heavens with Morten's voice. Had to remember to peek at your video now and then, Matt. 🙃 Again, Lucca's expressions are adorable when she's on your lap. She cracked me up at the end how she was biting you and then she told you how unhappy she was too. 😂😂
@@shelld1261 Haha, even more sensitive than me! Amazing. 😁 And have you missed the special Morten Monday? It seems the a-ha family missed it (except Elanur).

Stay On These Roads is in my opinion the definition of a perfect song. One of the best songs ever, this version is as good as the album track
Hey lady! How are you doing?

Shirt is from Tee Public. 😁 We love essays here. Many of us write them often. No worries. 👌

Lucca is a star. 😸😻 Have you missed Furuholmen (belated) Friday? 😉
@SofiaMarques18 I have not missed it for I know at least one of the next songs is Autotune again. 🙈😭😂
@@shelld1261 Oh, but the last one (with Tini) is not that bad, though you notice it a bit. 😜 I like it.
@SofiaMarques18 It's not that great either. 😅I notice it a lot, unfortunately. I guess I am sensitive when it comes to Magne's voice. 🙈😂

James, where are you? Did Santa get you a new computer?
I was wondering this myself! Hopefully he returns soon. 😎
