    Going to look at one of these tomorrow, it has been stood for 2 years but it runs and only has 30000 km on the clock - 650 quid - Cheap as chips.
    Can't wait.

    WOW.. how have I never seen this before, I have my NC29 for over 10years and counting.. this is surely the sweet spot of motorbikes, I can run it through ALL gears, and it will outrun far more powerfull machinery thorugh tight corners, but it won't kill you on straight.. even though 210km/h (on GPS) is plenty these days...

      Seems unfair though that they decided to carry on with the review on a bike thats been sat up and not running well.

    Didn't know that Richard Hammond used to review bikes, since I grew up watching him on Top Gear

    I have taken this bike on the motorway to Cadwell park from North London, Edgware....and I held it at 80mph on the motorway, the whole way....I was working at Cadwell to sell tickets at the entrance for the British superbike Race for bikers. I had left at 4:27am in the morning from Edgware, north London to start work at 7am. I made there at 6:41am at Cadwell park. This was on 20 August 2017. So google maps says 2hr 53mins for that Sunday, but I made it there in 2hr 15mins....AVERAge speed was calculated to be 59.5mph....Even I thought it could not handle the motorway when I first got the bike....after that I realised hold on...it can....Next stop for me is going to be London to Scotland and back in 1 day lollll. And that trip was made with the stock exhaust as well by the way to cadwell park....

      The question isn’t whether it can travel long distances on a freeway… it’s whether you would want to on one or not!

    I had the NC30 as well as this and the NC30 pissed all over the CBR in handling and general ride terms. Ok, you got no kick in the pants and it sounded like a sewing machine but the power delivery was smooth and it would lean till I ground the pegs away. NC30 was like smart casual and the CBR was a chav in tracksuit. The Kawasaki KR1S was a madman with no clothes on.

      Then the RS250 came out, which would wipe the floor with all 3 then proceed to grenade its shitty Suzuki engine.

    Great reviews but why does Hammond keep reviewing broken bikes?! First a VFR400 with crap tyres and bearings, now CBR with gummed up carbs?

    I've had a zx7r, R1, Firebade etc but none of them handled as sweetly as my Nc23. I had renegade build me a carbon race can for it and it sounded like a formula 1 car. I miss it badly and would buy another one today

      I guess it is just called the "Repsol" livery. They have these liveries on most (if not all) the RR models from 400, 600, 900, 1000. The green/red/white "Castrol" livery is also very cool, if you don't know it you should def. look it up :)

    Can anyone give me any insight to why I can't find any honda cbr400 in the US?

    • @viduranisal
      @viduranisal 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wasn't sold in the US, maybe you have a few gray imports but would be super rare. You can still buy these at auctions in Japan though, if you have similar laws to cars where 20+ year models are exempt from import restrictions.

      the Ktm does look like a fantastic bike, but can't comment on the ride of it as I haven't been on one! However I have a 1989 Cbr 400 Nc23 and I have my test on Thursday I Can not wait to get out on it!!!

      CBRSMITHY25 When you feel that it's time to move on from the CBR400, keep it. There's nothing that I've found that can fill that niche. I'm currently riding and about to sell my dream bike, a triumph speed triple 1050, but I'm always missing that baby blade.

      I own an RC390 and a VFR400 (which is of course not a CBR400 but its as close as I have) The ride is so different between the bikes that they are almost too different to compare. The rc390 lacks a soul and the fun power band of the VFR but is a little more confidence inspiring and seems to handle better.
