-116 is lower than -109. I guess its is quite similar to the "ping" in online games. The lower the ping the better is the connection. If so -116 is the better connection than -109 therefore there is an improvement in Signal...which also means that the other functions may also be true.
Nardine Kashani for fuck sakes man, how can you fucking improve camera quality by a fucking tampered glass. You can increase camera quality by macro lens and other stuff like that.
like lew said , perfect environment for 1 second and they multiplied it by 60x24 and they came to this number.but in reality , maybe it improves battery with 0.0001 % / day
This is the best video you have made in a LONG, LONG time! Your video was exactly to the point with no exaggerations or no conversations off- topic. Vintage Unbox Therapy. A treat to watch and really enjoyed this one! Thanks !!
Am I the only one that noticed that this channel went from Unbox Therapy to phone reviewer? I personally don't like that he rarely reviews gadgets now and only reviews only phones now. Edit:Look at the new videos what are most of them about?
SilverSnake its because all of the big brand are releasing new phones soon so he's keeping everybody updated and its too help people buying there future phone
Soooo...the "radiation" they're talking about are the high frequency radio waves (RF) coming off the phone....the same RF waves that carry the data signal. So this product is literally contradicting itself: If it blocks the "radiation" from hitting you, or from emitting out the front of the phone, it has also stopped the signals needed to communicate to the towers from also going in that direction. Also, a thin layer of clear plastic or glass is NOT going to stop any measurable amount of radiation. Let's not forget that radio waves are a part of the LIGHT spectrum. So yeah, this product preys upon ignorance.
Pedro Cruz I guess you failed high school physics. Radiation includes electromagnetic waves, which includes visible light, along with radio wave, microwave, infrared, ultraviolet, X Ray, and gamma ray. Radiation also includes high speed helium nuclei and electrons, called alpha and beta radiation respectively.
Sweet Zongzi Yes but if something is capable of blocking radio waves, it need not necessarily block all other EM waves. It maybe able to block radio waves because they have higher wavelength and lower energy but it may not be able to block visible radiation with much higher energy and lower wavelength. The same way as greenhouse gases block IR waves but do not block visible rays.
And it will make your backphone much more hotter cause block heat radiation too.. Right Maybe if the radio wave only comes out on the back it get faster i mean the wave wasn't spread out too much its being focused like when you using a life hack on your rooter antenna with can or metallic object ... Idk
Hey Lew, the rsrp is messuring dBm which is a logarithmic measurement of power. -109 to -106 or a 3dB difference is actual a double in power or that screen protector is increasing your signal by 2 times. That's pretty good.
Hmmm, I see, you have to put on 2 of those screen protectors and do 10 jumping jacks before putting them on. X2 protectors equals X2 signal. X1 equals X1 😏 And jumping jacks for Jack.
if what you said that "the lower the number the better signal", then the screen protector is doing it's job Lew. because -116/-121(when you hold the phone), is lower than -108. It is because the numbers are in negative. Correct me if i'm wrong. However, a great video as always :)
I have owned 2 of their standard glass screen protectors. I like that product. I have a Galaxy 8+ with the curved protector on it, and I had a Nexus 6 which the protector saved my screen from breaking during a Home Depot workday. I can't complain about the protection. I don't think I buy the other claims though, either.
THANK YOU. I had to pause the video and stop myself from physically destroying something when he said that. If you're using it to tag something--sure, call it a hash. But when you're punching it into a dial pad on a phone, it's call a pound. FFS.
"Potential radiation" Meaning "If there is radiation (cause we don't know for sure) then it will. But there probably isn't, but you bought it cause you're a sucker"
When you want to install a glass screen protector I recommend that you go into a bathroom steam up the room with the shower then place the protector on the device then tape one side of the protector to create a hinge then you take off the adhesive cover and it just falls into place!
You let the phone flat on the table, then the signal usually going in the direction of the screen is redirected prominently towards the ground. It could even made the situation worse. But if you hold the phone vertically the redirection goes away from you to the side, where theres much more potential to get a signal. So this evidently helps for a phone call, given the usual posture. Well, that's if you're not using some kind of headset.
You can't improve the signal while blocking electromagnetic radiation from passing through half the phone. Signal strength is literally a measure of that radiation. Unless your phone is taped to your ear all day it's nothing to be concerned about anyway
it's non-ionizing radiation, even if you had it on you from the moment you were born, you would not be effected by it, becasue it literally doesn't have that capability, lol.
Uhm -115 is lower than -105 and he said lower is better. After he put it on it went to -106 which is actually higher than the -109 it started with without the protector. Its been awhile since ive been to school but i believe thats how negative numbers work gee dog
The signal is broadcast through the bezel, so even if the screen protector blocks 100% of the signal you'll still get beamed, because the antenna is surrounding the display, it's not behind it.
It only increases signal strength in proximity to cell towers. The closer you get to a cell tower, the greater the signal strength. Downside is that the closer to the tower you get, the higher the melanoma risk increases
As someone who has studied physics this whole “phones cause cancer” shit really pisses me off. Misleading people with fake science to make money is just disgusting.
It was called a hash in programming before social media adopted it. The name "hash tag" came from the fact it's a hash used to add tags to posts. Calling the symbol itself a hash tag is incorrect, calling it a hash is a proper name. Just like calling it pound or the number symbol. It also has other names, it entirely depends on how its being used.
The radio waves from the phone (microwaves would be a more correct word) are closer to your face so are much stronger than those from the cell towers miles away.
Lew, I believe everyone out there knows your going to end up going down as the best tech guy in the world. A guy that can't be bought, just telling it as it is. Keep up the good work man.
It actually work! After I install the screen protector on my phone, not only it improve my batteries, it improve my life too. Got promoted, married and have lots of kids. Never been so happy.
Lew, you say that the lower the rsrp0/1 number is, the better the reception. Those numbers read negative, though...that would mean that -120 is lower than -110, for example. So when you're getting between -112 and -115 instead of between -108 and -110, for instance, isn't that a GOOD thing? If not, then I think what you meant to say (since the numbers are negative) is that the higher the number, the better.
I think it doesnt need more signal when its good enough i think the screen protector helps with a percentage to hold that -109 so the phone doesnt have to give more power for the same signal strength i mean like without it the phone has to use 100% power for same strength with the screen protector its just uses 80% power because the protector is like a booster and there is where the power saving starts to happen.
-116 is lower than -109. If there is a negative sign before the number, the higher the number, the lower the value. So it appears that the screen protector boosted the signal.
The values are decibel milliwatts so +3 dbm is double the power, and +6 dbm is four times the power. Then -3 dbm is half and -6 dbm is 1/4 of the power.
The reflective layer is made of BSterium. It serve as a re-director of the 28$ you paid extra in the sellers bank account. It is the same material that's infused in audiophile cables.
so "the lower the number the better the signal" ??? well this is a negative number, so when you are saying the number has to be lower that means (as an example) -130 is less than -106. that means the signal is really getting better as it seems
I'll buy into the radiation reducing claim. But the enhanced signal, I think you can do a better test than laying it flat in the studio. I'd try it in a known fringe area, in a talking position. Not saying it WILL work, but the test could be configured better.
Hey Lou. I do appreciate that you at least made a try. But what’s the claim here is that it lowers the radiation reaching the user, so what you need to do is to measure the radiation radiating through the screen both before and after you install the screen protector. It never claimed to affect the reception of the phone. @Unbox Therapy
Radiation from phones is non ionizing and won't interact with the chemicals in your body, but people freak out about it and think it will cause cancer. chemicals like polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in (bacon, tobacco, any grilled food) that clearly cause cancer are not considered harmful by most people.
🤔🤔🤔 what do you guys think?
Unbox Therapy Hi Sir I am Always Watching Your All Videos... You Are Best
Love it
I call bs
Its kinda of a cool idea. Not so sure if would work.
It’s good
They're gonna come out with a wallpaper that "boosts" your phone's performance too
That's actually possible
Black wallpaper can save energy
Simplex especially if you are oled
Simplex doesn't that require an amoled display?
Amoled displays are the ones that save battery when there is a black wallpaper because the pixels just turn off.

“-116 is worse than -109”
what's wrong with it?
It's correct
So what is it nerds, somebody go google....xD
maks kuznia no further from 0 the better

-116 is lower than -109. I guess its is quite similar to the "ping" in online games. The lower the ping the better is the connection. If so -116 is the better connection than -109 therefore there is an improvement in Signal...which also means that the other functions may also be true.
Lew will reduce the sales of that to few. 😂
Vedant PATEL its not like they deserve it tho

What is a sketchy screen protector?
Some Asian Guy ligma balls
Probably they didn’t go to school and forgot -115 is lower than -106.
thebest wwe LoL 😂
Eko Budi Prasetio thank you very much.
The lower the number, better the signal... So -106dB means better signal
Ivan Ivanov but -116 is lower than -106....
yeah, instead he should have said that the more, the signal strength is closer to zero, the better it is...
It Can Also *improve* Your Camera Quality 😁
?
*Fuck you*
That's not even close to funny
Sumit, Your Subscriber That's actually possible.
Nardine Kashani for fuck sakes man, how can you fucking improve camera quality by a fucking tampered glass. You can increase camera quality by macro lens and other stuff like that.
*15 minutes later of phone usage*

Another false screen protector, dang it! why do companies lie 😂
To make money 🤷
like lew said , perfect environment for 1 second and they multiplied it by 60x24 and they came to this number.but in reality , maybe it improves battery with 0.0001 % / day
They don't they just fool you with phrasing
That's what apple does
Watch it not even protect the darned screen.

SilverSnake honestly I feel like Lew does whatever he has at hand. Right now, Lew has a lot of phones so he is reviewing that at the mo
No weird gadgets on the markets?? Do we need more weird but genius people to make those??
Nobody force u to watch the video. Move on
*Wonder if it enhances my bank account*
Francis Addae that most defenitly not it decreases it😅
Well it’s definitely enhancing someone’s bank account, just not yours
Francis Addae nope it will enhance theirs
And it also enhances hand caner because all the radiation now comes out of the back :/
It surely enhanced Lew's bank account.😂😂 Just joking
So the radiation goes to your hand 😅
LOL
Yep, who wants hands anyway, the hidden danger can ruin your eyes, but your hands, who uses their hands in 2018. Lol
they're just making the radiation claim for the money, radio frequency radiation in small amounts is not harmful
Cancer¿
Jacob Malcolm those are high frequency waves. Normal light waves are more a danger for that than the radiation coming to your phone

John Edgar If it blocks radiation, the screen should be black because visible light is also getting blocked. Lol.
Pedro Cruz I guess you failed high school physics. I think you meant pound not hash.
THANK YOU. I had to pause the video and stop myself from physically destroying something when he said that. If you're using it to tag something--sure, call it a hash. But when you're punching it into a dial pad on a phone, it's call a pound. FFS.
Theres already too many pounds just let it slide
Blastyr anytime man
Mr X we have done this for to many things recently...
No, it's proper name is an octothorp.
But it also goes by common names as Number sign, Pound sign, hash, hashtag, or if you're into music, a sharp.
"Potential radiation"
Meaning "If there is radiation (cause we don't know for sure) then it will. But there probably isn't, but you bought it cause you're a sucker"
Umbra their is radiation but it isn't ionicing radiation so I doesn't harm you. Even a banna emits radiation
When you want to install a glass screen protector I recommend that you go into a bathroom steam up the room with the shower then place the protector on the device then tape one side of the protector to create a hinge then you take off the adhesive cover and it just falls into place!

What are you talking about?! Such a thing existed?!
My parents still believe those apps 😂
Riley Willard Oh god I feel sory for you
I dont care what you say Lew but I bellive this screen protector can save us from the flying spaghetti monster I just tested it
Hamza Khalil but will it save you from ligma?
Albert Oliver what’s Lig... oh wait
It didn't protect me from Ligma, but it did prevent some other things when I was at SawCon...

I wasn't subscribed to you?! I've been watching your videos for ages.
when are you going to do another bluetooth speaker video, cause those are like one of the best videos
*As useful as Snake Water*

Uhm -115 is lower than -105 and he said lower is better. After he put it on it went to -106 which is actually higher than the -109 it started with without the protector. Its been awhile since ive been to school but i believe thats how negative numbers work gee dog
THANK YOU
Dude he talked about the numbers not the signs.... that's why common sense is not so common
Aneeq Lone Exactly. The number not the signed number
It's somewhat obvious he was talking about the absolute number so you're wrong.
by radiation they probably just mean heat which is also know as thermal "radiation".
"The thing I'm most interested in, is not the radiation protection, but the gain in signal strength to get more radiation."
The signal is broadcast through the bezel, so even if the screen protector blocks 100% of the signal you'll still get beamed, because the antenna is surrounding the display, it's not behind it.
I use my phone for more than 2 hours non-stop...
IM STILL ALIVE
pity.
Those are rookie numbers...
Apple works with screen protector company to solve slower LTE network speeds 🤣
Thats pound, not hash. Also known as an octothorp.
hash, pound, number sign, octothorp, they are all valid names for the same thing.
Pound is as correct as hash is.
You couldve measured the radiation with a geiger thingy Lou
Burak Muhammetoğlu
Geiger counter
geiger counters cant measure non ionizing radiation
Wanmigel Maca what is ionizing radiation
Burak Muhammetoğlu Radiation which will knock off electrons from atoms which can then result in the formation of cancers
It won't work.
Im actually mad you said “hash” and not pound smh
Dalton Triputra same
Hash is easier for people to know what he's talking about. The new generation isn't going to know what you're talking about when you say "pound"
Scotty Haines who tf even says hash tho
Dalton Triputra people that relate it to hash tags. Like Gen Y for example
It is same like Drax in Infinity War
Ritesh Chimankar
😂😂😂 Of no use (Drax)
saksham shrivastava 😁😂😂😂
Congratulations brother you cross 12 million subscriber 🎉🎉🎊🎊🎉🎉🎊🎊
Congratulations on 12m subs
Wouldn't the radiation go to your fingers then?
But there are no important organs in your fingers. Or are they?
Thats ok, they arnt even thinking about the radio wave already hitting you from cell phone towers. Lol
It really isn't worth the discussion. This thing does nothing.
No, this is NON-IONIZING radiation. It does not have the ability to effect your cells, stop being stupid sheep and do your research. FFS........
The radio waves from the phone (microwaves would be a more correct word) are closer to your face so are much stronger than those from the cell towers miles away.
Make a phone touchscreen with a screen protector.. Oh nvm
Blert Shabani it wouldn't be a phone without a touchscreen. Not a smart idea to use a screen protector as your screen. Everything has its purposes
The GOAT Then add a screen protector for the screen protector
Blert Shabani where's the logic in this
Just use earphone problem solved 😅
Daily Cinemas iphones?
Ajay Rathore
Bluetooth headphones duh
SlighceTUNES but it doesn't work like radio antenna
I don't think earphones work as a mobile signal antenna lol
Lew, I believe everyone out there knows your going to end up going down as the best tech guy in the world. A guy that can't be bought, just telling it as it is. Keep up the good work man.
The bg music tho kinda feels like you're gonna do some review on an extra terrestrial device 😂 cool bro
Pretty sure this screen protector gives you an extra 30 years to your life.
It can also cure your erectile dysfunction
WARNING!!! May cause severe retardation (but if you've bought this you probably have nothing to worry about) 🤣
If you're on android and want to access this setting go to "Settings>About Phone>Status>SIM card status" you're welcome
It actually work! After I install the screen protector on my phone, not only it improve my batteries, it improve my life too. Got promoted, married and have lots of kids. Never been so happy.

Your phone is going to *BLOW UP*
The truth...
Simple and beautiful.
You have my sub.
Next, I wanna see Jerry do a durability test on it.
I heard it also gives your phone a headphone jack 🎧 🔥 👌
Glad you did this video. I was wondering about that protector too. Did it really do what it advertised! Lol....Lew busted that thang wide open! 😆😆
The second you mentioned how it blocks "radiation" I became even more sceptical.
The reflective layer is made of BSterium. It serve as a re-director of the 28$ you paid extra in the sellers bank account. It is the same material that's infused in audiophile cables.
I agree once one test fails no need to proceed, I had hope it would go at least to second test but in the end junk is junk.
so "the lower the number the better the signal" ??? well this is a negative number, so when you are saying the number has to be lower that means (as an example) -130 is less than -106. that means the signal is really getting better as it seems
@Unbox Therapy
I think they just made lots of claims that have no reality to boost the price. Cause hey if it costs more it must be better
Hey man I just wanted to ask u if u have any info about oneplus 6t and nice video as always
the jury is NOT out on "the whole radiation situation". it's radio waves and heat
Please do so sir, this thing would surely blow your mind
"This guy's half dead as you can tell"
That one sentence killed me for some reason 🤣🤣🤣
Anybody notice how Lou moved the camera angle out a bit farther so that we can zoom in on phones with an 18:9 ratio without cutting his head off. ❤️
Hey Luke, Please review Surface Go. please please
Does it cool the i9 in the iPhone too?
Oh yeah Lew, where are ur glasses? Didn't notice that before you showed the old clip
Why do they deal in negatives? So the “lower” the number the better means closest to zero low not a higher negative number?
Radiation could kill and all but honestly the thing I'm most interested in is the increased net speed
Can u do a back to school tech vid
