These were the best conditions for a flight demo I've ever seen. No clouds at all and it can be really hard to get a good idea of how fast the jet is moving because there is no frame of reference. It looked ridiculously fast in some of these sequences...faster than it's looked in other vids. But too much cloud cover and the show is ruined because you can't even see the jet half of the time. These were truly perfect conditions. Light cloud cover AND some moisture in the air to give off those awesome vapor cones during high G maneuvers, but still enough sun and blue sky to see everything the jet is doing. Awesome vid.
Miniumum fuel, no weapons makes a hot performer even hotter. The afterburner lightoff and ensuing climbout after the slow flight pass demonstrates the power-to-weight ratio. Great videography.
They do the demo with 9,000lbs of internal fuel, which is more than an F-16 can even carry internally. Weapons or no weapons doesn't matter because weapon weight relative to fuel fraction is marginal. F-35s have unusually high fuel fraction.
I'm in that red van you can see on the taxiway at 8:53 in the video! The air boss started yelling at us on the radio to quickly pull off the taxiway so she could taxi by. She was just a few feet from me when she went by! Would love to see a full video of Skip's performance from Saturday!
This is one of the better demos I’ve seen for the F-35. She’s pushing that thing to the limit. Love that the pilot is female, you can tell she was born to fly. Also great filming as always!
@@ME-wq8lq Women are actually physically better with high Gs than men are, so I'm simply excited to see some of that potential finally recognized in Wolf, she deserved this role more than any other. It wasn't given to her, she earned it and I couldn't be anymore proud.
The F-35 can move!!! Bad ass!!! Just wait until they update the engine to 50,000lbs of thrust!! Crazy that it already has more power from that one engine than both of the super hornets! Can't wait to see the demo live for the first time in 2 weeks!!

aka Beast Master! A Force To Be Reckoned With also Major Wolf, She Is An Inspiration To [All] Women. Period, I Love Watching Your Videos. Great Work, Always. Thanks.
If we could get somewhere with zero music and crowd noise it'd be nice, but unfortunately we are rarely that lucky. We have to use shotgun mics to have any hope of focusing on the jet and not picking up too much else. Thanks for watching!
I saw it too, didn't know what to make of it. Almost looks like something coming into the area and tracking the jet for a second or two then flying away,.
Very impressive for a plane that wasn't necessarily designed to impress at air shows. I would love to see an F-35 in action, looking at a clean radar screen and having someone tell you an F-35 is over the horizon keeping a close eye on your airspace.
What is that white object just off the the right and just slightly above the F35 at 2:26 into the video? Too high for a bird. It disappears quickly afterwards to the left of the plane.
2:17 you all see that white spec overtake the jet on the upper left of the frame then drop to the lowe left? I’m not saying UFO but what was that? It’s the brightest at 2:28 it almost looks like something fell off the jet? Looking at it again mebe it was a bird?
@@goodputin4324 that's a bit rude. My point, which you missed, was that many dismiss the F-35, but it is a much better plane than they purport it to be

Absolutely fantastic camera work especially at 3:50 when it came through the clouds
I live only a few miles from Hill Air Force Base. We are so lucky to see these planes on a daily basis!! The Sound of Freedom!!!
Glad you’re not one of “those” who complains about living next to an Air Force base.
I live a few miles from Luke AFB, and also get to enjoy them on a daily basis. Much cooler up there though.
You are lucky indeed
Yes hill is the best place to see 35s so lucky to live in utah
