Trev. Flying and camping is the thing i love to do most in the world. Watching you do that on the otherside of the planet warms my heart. Great video mate. Keep em coming. Imagine what we would see if you had two cameras.😊
Looks amazing, i really wish i had the funds and an agreeable wife and kids to be able to do this (they were all horrified when i said i'd love to do it). Thanks for the videos, perhaps one day
What a lovely trip! The take off looked worse than it actually was, and no sheep!! You did well looking forward to some more adventures! Good luck on the next one. John
Brilliant, trev. As as the hundred of comments before say. Look forward to meeting you again over at winglands or deenthorpe in the near future. I shall be taking my Gt450 over to east coast soon
@@trev.lee.adventure yes trev, it is. went to sandown IOW 3 weeks ago , was awesome. i have some time off in sept, so hoping weather gives me loads of chances to get up.
@@trev.lee.adventure that is something I would love to do at some point Trev, but I feel I have more to learn yet before I get involved with the Legends
Top vid that and somewhere I have been taughting myself into going for a while. Really useful to understand from a first person perspective the runways and the state of them. Shame they can't get a mower isn't it
I would say it was around a 45 degree cross wind. So not too bad. But I was concerned about the take off with a load of caping gear on a rough airstrip with fairly long grass. Fortunatly all was good
Hi Trev, Thanks for the video. I've seen worse fields with shorter grass and lots of rabbit holes. Thankfully the big wing on my GT450 (like yours on the GTR) together with good short-field technique helps minimise the load on the front suspension and gets off the ground fairly quickly. Looking forward to catching up with you in person at the weekend if this weather allows! 🙂
Appreciate the information on take off and air traffic control. How about a video on all the aircraft controls ? That would be interesting , Safe flights
I really enjoyed this video. Please make them longer. Just watching the sea from that height was fantastic. I have a PPL but have not ventured into microlight flying which offers far more freedom. Looking forward to the next video
Great film Trev. Thanks for sharing. Been thinking of doing Lundy next June in my Skyranger. Was concerned as to the take off but now I’ve seen how quick you where up with that long grass and rough strip it seems do-able. And a pub too.
I enjoyed your video ... the grass would be good to get cut, used for the animals then a good rolling to make it a pleasure for aircraft to use frequently 😉 my Late stepfather was Lighthouse keeper on the North Light 1967 - 73 he flew out of Swansea via Bristows in a westland wessex i loved those Helicopters .... thats how he met my Mam due to me wanting to get up close to the wessex❤ Fellow TH-camr Peter Halil has covered it in his Lighthouse Keepers guided tour videos if you wanted to see a picture of the wessex in action. Good Flying and enjoy 👍 🏴🏴🏴 😎
I'm new to your channel Trev and absolutely love it. I was nursing a hangover on Sunday and the trip you did to Bute was perfect to sit back and watch. Thank you for taking us along for the ride . I have subscribed 👍
Absolutely superb, boss. Another world and footage only previously seen by the gods. I will ask the unmentionable question...Do you have a chute on board? Those albeit wonderful aircraft are a bugger to ditch by all accounts. This question is asked respectfully and in gratitude for transporting this humble soul to where I would like to be, as opposed to what I must do day to day 😅😅 Very best regards, 👍🤗
@@trev.lee.adventure For the whole thing, boss, not just you. 5 grand there or there abouts apparently. If it's within budget, why not? Rubber raft and a boring hour or two...
Great video. and I enjoyed your artic series, I bet that's an adventure that will never be forgotten. Out of interest, what's the instrument to the left of the compass please? I've been trying to work it out for a while...
There is never a day where our arctic trip doesn't pass through my mind! The instrument is my fuel computer. It tells me fuel burn in ltrs per hour and fuel remaining
Hi Trev enjoyed your episodes of your European trip, and for a great cause, well done to both of you. Quick aviation question if I may, do you fly QNH or QFE and in what situations do you tend to use either? I guess from the video you set airfield elevation before flight? Great to hear your take on it, of course not for any other purpose other than an opinion, keep up the great videos👍
Hi thanks for watching my video's. I generally take off on QNH and then change to QFE before landing. As well as the anologue altitude gauge I have 2 GPS's running. One showing QHH and the other showing height above ground. So I am spoilt for choice really. 😉
Trev, you have some balls mate, you could have taken an easier route rather than to Swansea over the water. Enjoy the vids mate well done, and next time your in Wales call in to Old Park Farm, the kettle is always on
Hope you don't mind me asking Trev, what prop do you use on the aircraft and where was it manufactured. The reason why I'm asking is because I have family connections to Newton propellers that used to be based in Mid Wales. Thanks Trev
Lovely adventure, though I'd be uncomfortable crossing that expanse of water worrying about an engine out. Assuming you didn't have enough height to glide to terra firma. I read you wear a life jacket, but has your aircraft got flotation of any kind? I guess (hope) phone is in a waterproof bag. 😮. I'm a sailor as well as a flyer! Really enjoyed the video.
