I agree I went to a roadshow in Dartford with Ian and Bob Nudd and bought this series of video's and Ian kindly signed every single one of them great guy
Funny how things have changed, he's using a pound bottom when these days if your fishing 4lb your fishing light. I don't think you can buy pre tied hooks that light and modern rods would be too powerful. I had a 25 year break from this kind of fishing and when I started again the tackle shop thought I was talking a different language. I bought some 3lb reel line and they advised again it even those it would suit the lake I was fishing.
i know what you mean mate but when i fish for roach and skimmers i still fish 2.5 lb mainline and 1.7 hooklengths when waggler fishing on stillwaters , just feels so much better to me
I have just got back into fishing as I have no gigs to play. I realised my DIAWA tackle box is nearly 40 years old. my Diawa reel I bought from Marks & Marlow when I had a days fishing tuition with Ivan Marks many years ago. Learnt so much in one day. Use Ian Heaps books for my match fishing info an Ivan's. It's a whole different language now as you say. Ivan fished that day with metre long 12oz hook length! He pulled in one Bream after another at Mallory Park. Amazing ay with a legend.
I still have and fish with my Dam quickstick 13ft match rod endorsed by ian , quite expensive back in the day and as good as if not better than some of the newer rods
This guy got me hooked in 1990! Along with Bob nudd, I learnt to be an angler thx to these gents.
Me too. I had an old Bob Nudd video called wacking em with a waggler. That got me into fishing.
What a superb film, learnt tons there thanks ever so much, brilliant.
Enjoyed watching watching the film. Can't wait to get on the bank myself.
