videos like these make me feel better about paying 150/hr wet at my local club... and sending the owner a text if there's something wrong with it, and then checking out the next cleanest plane

I had the pleasure of replacing the bladder tank on my Aztec, my arm, over my bicep was black and blue all the way around from reaching through the opening to get the damn clips in place!
Inline engines are very different from radials. All aircraft radials have odd numbers of cylinders. The firing order skips next cyl, so that every one hits over two revolutions. 1-3-5-7-9-2-4-6-8, then repeat. Most had cam rings that rotated backward at a fraction that was less than half of the crank rpm. I barely understand it, so I have a tough time describing it! Some aviation museums have rotating radial engine cutaways, but few show the cam ring.

I confess, we generally seal that tank inspection painel (It tends to accumulate water inside and you get some rust in the fuel senders/screws). but definitively NOT with glue hahahahahah
Had a capillary line feeding a fuel pressure gauge fail. The smell of gas and the front seat passenger wondering what the blue stuff was made for a stressful RTL.
ok so one thing you didnt explain... how the hell do get those clips in that you put in in the corners (the ones you said weren't clipped in at the start).... i'm assuming that's why you need the double length arms :D
Are you in Montgomery? Seems like the logical choice given all the Military training activity I keep seeing. In this video alone, a C-17, a Navy Ac and a Lakota with obvious Rucker markings.
If you want to get technical that’s a mechanical gauge… the leaking metal diaphragm is actually the oil pressure sensor and the mechanical linkages that attach to it are the gauge…. So the sensor is leaking and the gauge is not

When we did the baron one person would line the clips up on top and someone else would push their hand from the bottom hole to clip it in. Barons suck
You guys do some great work.. !
Tell my boss, I haven’t been paid in years
Sweet old Convair. BTW, plenty of radials with odd numbers of cylinders. Driven a few inline 5s as well.
I know, my old bro metro was a 3 cylinder. Any number that divides evenly into 360 will work for number of pistons

Yeah with RTV, or pro seal and mold release, or silicone, or a foam gasket… but not glue 😂. The correct material to use is called out in the manual…….
@@aviationsquared1909 It used to be called rope caulk. Gray in color and about four or five strips on a kind of tape roll.
