- For anyone that's confused or needs a refresher on Sora's ties to everyone in Kingdom Hearts. Roxas, Ventus, Vanitas, Namine, Xion, and Kairi.
Wooper explains how all of the people connected to Sora came to be in one unedited segment! She actually did great!

She got everything right except for one small thing: Namine didn't make Xion and had no involvement in the creation of her. Vexen created her.

WeebHut Jr Yeah. Actually, I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the reason Xemnas was in KH1 was that he was there to take a sample of Sora's memories to use to create Xion.

Couple of things missed:
-Sora’s heart was shared with Ventus because Sora was just born, not because of some special power; papa Nomura stated that Sora is meant to be a normal boy and all the extraordinary things about him are from the connections he makes with other people and the growth he makes through his journeys; he’s not meant to be some “chosen one” type
-Vanitas was faceless until Ventus and Sora connected; Vanitas was created, which caused the fracture of Ven’s heart, which is why Xehanort was going to abandon him at Destiny Islands, which gave Ven’s heart the opportunity to encounter Sora’s
-Naminé is a special Nobody: Kairi, a being of pure light, has no darkness so she couldn’t have a Nobody by normal means; when Sora became a Heartless, both Roxas and Naminé came into existence; she was created through the darkness in Sora’s heart, but her existence comes from Kairi’s heart because it was inside Sora at the time; her having such a strong connection to Sora gives her power over his heart
-Xion is an intended replica of Roxas created through Sora’s memories by Vexen, not Naminé; she looks like a black haired Kairi to certain people because the memories of Kairi are Sora’s strongest ones (he really likes Kairi, guys); she takes different appearances from different peoples perspectives: Roxas/Axel/Riku/etc. see a girl with black hair, Saïx saw an emotionless hooded figure, Xigbar at one point saw her as Ventus

Angel Caban She controls Sora's heart alone. However, she indirectly affects the people connected to Sora's heart; that's why in between CoM and II, everyone who ever knew Sora (and Donald & Goofy) forgot about, probably including his own parents. In the KH series, memories also have ties to the heart, so Naminé was taking apart his memories because of her ties to his heart.
Namine deserves to die for crimes against humanity. Seriously, if someone messed with your memories like that, you would be really angry. The only reason why Sora isn't mad is because he doesn't remember and also isn't to good with the whole hatred thing (see KHII, DiZ pretty much says as much to Roxas). Also, Sora never knew about the whole Fake Riku thing. Or Xion. Or everyone else on Destiny Islands. She literally broke someone's heart in a series about how important the heart is.

Watch all the cutscenes from KH1 all the way to KH 2.8 and you will understand this video. The only part that is still not answered is why Vanitas looks like Sora.

You forgot about how Xion looks differently to different people. She only looks like that when Roxas looks at her, but other people see someone completely different.
Nobodies do have hearts. It's revealed in 3d aka the game where the plot gets unnecessarily more convoluted

Yeah dude! Super happy ya took the time to wrap your head around the complexity of Sora's heart hahahaha. It's been a puzzle to figure out everything over the years of playin' these games. Just wanted to clarify a few specific things:
0:54, Sora happened to be born the moment Xehanort ripped Ventus' heart. Sora's strength of heart, sensing Ven's pain, offered to help (as, we assume, any newborn with a strong enough heart would have done the same). These are from BBS cutscenes
1:31, bring his heart back to light from darkness. He was without his true Body throughout the end of KH1 and CoM (this is poorly explained in the canon). Kairi rescued him into this...sort of "light" pseudo-heartless up until Roxas unwillingly re-merged with him at the beginning of KH2
3:15, since sora and ventus' connection was almost instantaneous as xehanort ripped ven's heart in two, vanitas' form was adopted from the new half of ventus's heart that filled in the crack where vanitas came from--sora
3:35, xion's a puppet made from Sora's memories of Kairi, but Vexen made her. Xemnas sampled Sora's memories in the secret battle in KH1 to give this data to Vexen. Namine can only manipulate Sora's (and people connected to Sora) memories
3:41, nobodies can grow their own hearts, but Roxas is neat--he was also carrying Ventus' heart as evidenced by his dual weilding at the end of Days. DDD confirms that most of the original Org 13 had begun growing their own hearts too, making them unfit for Xehanort's plans ayy.

Interesting about 1:31. It would make sense, considering it's strange to have his nobody exist at the same time as his real self.
The rest of your comments are also on point! There were some people saying that it's just speculation as to why Vanitas looks like Sora or Sora like Vanitas, but I feel like that's obvious from the info we got from BBS, confirmed by the notes in DDD. Sora shared his heart with Ven, then the experiment happened, and Vanitas looks like what Sora would grow into.
Definitely not explained super well in BBS, but easy to see after the fact.
Can i suggest something?
Xemnas could not sample Sora's memories into Xion as the secret boss fights are not usually canon , what i think that Roxas teaming up with Xion resulted in sharing of memories of Sora which were present in Roxas. This would kind of explain why Xion could not talk or had a face in the start of Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 days.Also, at the end
her face was completely changed and she looked like Sora as she got enough memories from Roxas which also would explain why he got weak near the end as most of his memories (powers) were shared/taken by Xion..........

3:15 No, Vanitas was made before Ven touched hearts with Sora. Ven connected with Sora because his heart was wrecked FROM the making of Vanitas. Vanitas looks like Sora because when Sora and Ven connect, since Vanitas comes from Ven, he is affected by Sora's heart as well.

Wait I just realized! Since Ventus had all the darkness stripped out of his heart and Sora fixed his heart with his light doesn't that mean that Ventus is a princess of light!!?!! As far as I know in the lore Princesses of Light are the people known for having pure hearts, and Xehonort artificially made Ventus' heart pure.
Kairi's heart was inside Sora from when they left destiny island, when Sora stabbed himself with a key-blade of hearts, he returned Kairi's heart back to her body, and since his (plus the fragment of Ven's heart that was within Sora) heart was also released, it created two nobodies which were created through Sora + a part of Ven's heart, as well as Kairi's heart which is why Roxas looks like Ven and Namine has a special connection to Sora's memories despite being Kairi's Nobody. Being a princess of light, Kairi can't normally produce a nobody, but because her heart was in Sora's body at the time she was able to create a special nobody.

So, so far it has yet to be explained WHY Sora & Vanitas look alike.
Asvea I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that Vanitas was just a faceless shell (I assume that was why he wore a mask), kinda like Xion, until Sora's heart came into contact with Ventus's heart. This affected Vanitas because he was connected to Ventus's heart (I think).
Khanh Tran this, I believe, was stated by Nomura, the creator of KH, in a interview. So it may not be explained. The explanation I gave sounded like it could be the case as Xion also technically has no face but every one sees her differently because of her and their connections. For example, Xigbar saw her as Ventus.

Simple explanation:
Sora - Main character-kun
Kairi - Fairly irrelevant love interest that just became plot relevant again.
Saxor - When Sora became a Heartless, the empty she'll left behind becomes a Nobody.
Naminé - At the start of KH 1, when Sora tried to catch Kairi, she passed through him, transferring her heart to him because plot. So, when Sora became a Heartless, Roxas AND Naminé were born...even though Kairi's body was still there, but fuck off! That's how the story is told.
Ventus - After having is heart split by Evil Bad Guy McAntagonist, newborn Sora's heart shared it's light to fill that void. When Ven's heart LITERALLY SHATTERS, it returns to Sora for heal.

Vanitas: Ven's darkness. Looks like Sora because Ven and Sora touched hearts...even though their hearts touched AFTER Vanitas was removed, but...semantics.

You are doing a great job explaining this, but you've one thing wrong. The Ventus/Vanitas split happened before Xehanort tried to leave Ven on Destiny Islands

Vanitas was brought into the world with literally no face only when Ventus and Sora linked hearts, and since Vanitas is part of Ventus it slowly affected Vanitas's features to look like the the half that took his place in Vens heart
as someone who has never played a kingdom hearts game but likes watching bits of it, i was so confused how those characters are all related to Sora and parts of him, this guide helped me understand a bit better!

Xehanorts plan was to find several people and split his heart out because he wanted the x blade the first was ventus,vanitas,terra,then riku but riku developed an immunity, and now he's after sora by using vanitas and sora because the creation of a x blade is one pure of heart and the ones pure of heart have keyblades and that's why he said he had some of the wielders which would mean Isa (leas best friend is one of them)

I knew everything EXCEPT the Vanitas part. i never understood why he looked like sora.. but after you explain. it makes perfect sense. Because through out the game he never showed his face. we can say that from the beginning before Ventus shared his heart with sora, Vanitas looked like Ventus but when he revealed his face, it was after the whole sharing heart and that is why he looks like Sora. thanks for explaining it!! 👍👍👍

I believe Namine was created when Kairi originally lost her heart after Destiny Islands was destroyed (and her heart taken and put into Sora's, and she got it back when sora unlocked his heart)
Her love for him when she hugged cute little Shadow Heartless Sora brought him back but It wasn't her transferring anything like what sora had done

or, when sora unlocked his heart Namine was created, as that with when Kairi originally lost her heart are the only times their hearts were 'transferred' or whatever, was Namine created. Not sure.

so because she still produced a nobody from when she lost her heart in KH1 it was an imperfect copy (even by nobody standards)

I remember reading a comment in TH-cam that Roxas was originally supposed to be Sora's reincarnation. However, Disney didn't agree with the idea and shut it down. So, the idea of nobodies was then created.

Xion looks like Kairi ONLY to Roxas. She looks like different people to different people. For example: she looks like Ventus is Xigbar, because that's who Braig knew these memories as. Many organization members just see a shadow.

I makes sense to me.
Ventus, who’s from 100 years before BBS, was in some sort of unexplained slumber due to his heart being damaged. Sorta’s heart reached out and shared its light. Because of this Ventus contains Sora’s light which is why Vanitas looks like Sora. Once Ventus defeats Vanitas and begins to fade into darkness he returns not only Sora’s light but his own.
Kairi somehow passed her light/heart into Sora who was already holding Ventus. Then when he became a heartless that released Kairi’s light/heart and Ventus’s. Sora’s heart and light were restored by Kairi but Ventus’s wasn’t. Hence why Roxas looks like Ventus.Nomine (probably spelled it wrong) is the nobody of a pure heart so of course she’d be different.
Then the year long coma and Sora “regaining” his memories but he’s actually reabsorbing Ventus’s light and heart. During this process Vexen draws the memories out of Roxas who’s memories are Sora’s not Ven’s thus creating Xion.
Xion stopped existing because she is also a part of Kairi’s light that was used to restore Sora. Roxas stopped existing because Ven’s light returned to Sora.
Sora has three lights within his body. His own, Ven’s, and part of Kairi’s.
Not that confusing. What’s more confusing is how Xehanort Voldemortes himself into 13 people through time travel and whatever else.

However I want to add a note to 3:17...NOOOooooo that experiment was NOT done after Sora, it was done before...so as to WHY Vanitas looks like Sora is a CONFUSING part that we have yet to figure out. It could be that when Ventus met Sora part of Soras heart or something touched Ventus and then since Venitas is half of Ventus it took Soras appearance... Only thing I can think offf....

Venitas came before ventas lost his heart, namine was created at the same time as roxas cause Kairi heart was in sora and was released when he turned into a heartless. She and roxas are both nobodies belonging to sora. After venitas showed his true form and bonded back with ventas, that's when ventas trusted his hear to sora.
Sora is like Buu, he just keeps absorbing and eating people into his heart lol.

You forgot Data Sora and Sora's heartless within the Date Escape. Also, Vexen actually created Xion as a vessel to steal Sora's memories of Kairi from Roxas, making her a Replica. Other than that, this is actually pretty spot on.

What you got wrong (which you didn't really get wrong you just didn't know) was that nobodies do have feelings so Namine and Roxas actually were feeling things. We do know that much.
I thought venitus was created from ventus darkness but long before ventus ever connects with sora. They never really explained why he looked like sora I think.
