I bought a cheap bucket from the dollar tree, it fits in the area for the clean water. I don’t like dipping my mop in the dirty water. It also makes it easier to refill the clean water.
I am over 70 and my oceder is one of the best investments I have made for my floors. I wash my mop head after I have mopped my floors. I use only white vinegar to mop my hardwood floors. The flooring people recommended only that.
I love mine too our house is small and just needs occasional damp moping not wanting to get my flooring to wet although it's waterproof my oceder is perfect for that.
I worked for a carpet store. It drove the owner nuts because people were obsessed about the perfect cleaner for their new floors. He would tell them to use just water! That wasn't good enough for the new floor owners so he would tell them the company secret! It was a cap of vinegar but only a capful, no more. They went off happy. Floors are not like clothes that need help getting stains out, it's a solid surface and plain water works.
Good morning, Andrea Jean. I love all your cleaning hints and tricks and I'm 81....still learn something new from you very often. I too use Weiman's products, and my mop and bucket are O'Cedar. I had a Fuller Brush mop for years and years (my Dad sold that brand for awhile after WWII), but the O'Cedar bucket with the spinner was a game changer. Happy hoiday's from Nebraska!! (Okay...I'll start washing the mop after each use. Makes sense 🙃!)
Love the cedar mop! PSA here: Anyone with real wood, LVP or laminate floors should NOT be using steam mops! My husband has been building and remodeling for 30 years, mainly floors. He says steam mops are keeping him busy replacing warped floors. LVP floors are waterproof in that you spill, wipe up, they're fine. Look good for years. However, the repeated use of steam mops loosens the factory applied glue that holds the underpad on so they warp and moisture can get in there which also causes mold. To keep LVP floors looking good without streaks, use a capful of neutral ph cleaner in bucket of water or just plain warm water.
Love mopping videos! Love my Ocedar, it has not gone into my “mop mausoleum” 😂 (the collection of different mops I’ve tried looking for that perfect one)
I’ve only been using my O-cedar mop for a short time, but this video provided invaluable insights. The company could significantly enhance the user experience by incorporating a QR code at the start of the instruction manual, leading directly to this video. This would make the learning process far more efficient and intuitive for new users.
I loved your video on mopping. I just bought the O'Cedar bucket that keeps the water separate. I hope I am not ripped off! You taught me how to be a mop queen!
Since the early 2000’s when I seen a mop head I could remove and wash I never went back to the old way of washing by hand. OCedar came out with the mop and spin bucket made mopping so much easier.
Your cleaning channel is the only one I watch. I love my Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop. I have a big house, so I bought extra pads to change out during mopping. My favorite emoji is the smiley with sunglasses on :)
We moved my mother up to live with my sister recently. I inherited her two dogs, making us a four dog, one cat family. I love Ocedar mops. but I agree the two step system sucks. I have two of the older ones, with several heads. I too wash the mop heads after each mop. With a boxer, and an occasionally incontinent Havanese, I mop daily. Spot mop sometimes every few hours. I use a cleaner made for urine odors, and it does well for the odor, not so good for the cleaning. I'm mopping urine and boxer drool. (Should be incorporated into an adhesive) So, I love my O'Cedar mops, like the cleaner I use, but I agree if you don't wash the mop head, you are just spreading funk!
As a fellow emergency foster momma, I commend you! 🙌❤️ I know the pain of the incontinent senior fur ball (mine misses the piddle pads all the time). I need to use paper towels (use the recycled paper brand, less guilt) first. Need to get an O’Cedar mop must for the dog zone!
For your daily needs try the Libman spray mop.. comes with a cartridge you can pop out and put water and a dab of Mr Clean in it… just purchase extra pads.. mops like $25-$30.. pads about $8…has a hook to hang.. that’s what I use daily for messy critters.. wash the pads in washer.. air dry…Love it’s ease of use
I absolutely love my oceader! I have owned many types of mops and electrical type mops and well oceader is the absolute best. I didnt clean it after every use but i will now. TFS Have a fabulous week! Take care. Blessings
I love all of your videos however I don't even own a mop. The only tim in 56 years of life I have ever used one is when I worked and trade school. I was taught to scrub my floors on my hands and knees, so thats what I have always done. Besides both my kitchen and bathroom floors would take 2 to 3 dips into bucket if that my floors are tiny. Thank you for taking your time to make awesome videos. Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones🐧🐧
Andrea, you had me laughing so hard at some of these because of the funny wiggle you were doing while mopping!! Thank you for the GREAT TIPS!!! I love your channel!!!
I have watched every one of your cleaning videos. I am so glad you have more recent ones. I have all of your cleaning dupes and am telling everyone to tune in. God bless!
I love the benefits of mopping (I love clean floors), but my back hates it and reminds me every time. 😂 I truly enjoyed this video-first time viewer. Subscribed.
Your raving about the Oxiclean. We wash our clothes with cold water. Think this would work like you stated with cold water. If so, I'm on board. Also, I'll tell you the best cleaner that I've used, it's Lysol concentrate. It don't have that perfume smell, but, It's the best at cleaning. Try it.
Indoor shoes outdoor shoes. If you don't do this already sometimes for some people it might take a little getting use to but it's doable. Give it time., put a sign on the door if you have to. I would rather have shoe covers available for guest because someone people walk with their socks on their own yuk floor then put their shoes on anyway, So , Yeah shoe covers. Done.
Hi gorgeous happy Saturday. You got beautiful floors. Last year I found some o cedar mop the single ones for 12 bucks each and grab like 4 of them for my daughter and her friends. I only listen to you when it comes to all this and boy you know you’re stuff. Thank you for sharing your amazing tips. 🥰
I have no idea why! Why have I not been throwing the mop head in the washer. I have been cleaning it in the mop bucket! Great video. Who knew??? Common sense does. lol
I’ve never thought of throwing the mop head in the washer. I’ve always stood at the bathroom sink, getting the mop wet and wringing it out until it’s (relatively) clean. After watching this video, I’m tempted to get rid of my 40 year old mop bucket and get that Ocedar bucket.
Check out the reviews first, and do not throw out anything that still works after 40 years. Modern plastic buckets break easily and I have to replace all of mine regularly. I just googled Where to buy O'Cedar, and some questions came up. One was how long the mop head lasts. "they can be used for up to three months before needing to be switched out. Once you reach that point it's time for a refill!"
I wash them and dry them in the dryer. I have many. My floors are still dirty because I have 6 dogs and 13 cats and live in the desert. But doesn't stink.
I would use the 100.00 to actualy get a ocedar mop. I've been wanting the duel one but so glad I watched this video. My steam mom makes everything look streaky and doesn't smell good. Great tips. ❤ is my favorite emoji 🎉
I agree with you on the O’Cedar dual mop bucket. Not worth it!! But I love my O’Cedar mop and bucket. Worth it!! Andrea Jean… 🧐 Food has FLAVORS Candles, cleaning products, etc…. have FRAGRANCES! PS: I pour the dirty mop water quickly down into the toilet bowl. It takes away all of the water from inside the bowl…and voila…you have more surface area inside the bowl to clean without the water there. PSS: Oh, my goodness! I keep editing because I have more to say!! lol!! I see that you are wearing socks while mopping. Yes!! When I mop and wear socks to mop, I called them my “Soaky Socks.” I just taught my granddaughter about Soaky socks. 😊
As a hard wood floor company owner I don’t recommend any polish on wood. If you need to have a buff and coat done by a company they will have to sand off the polish and it takes a layer off the floor. Your floor can only be sanded about twice.
Wipes are a HUGE waste. Waste of money and adding more waste to our overcrowded landfils. Just use a cloth or sponge dedicated for the floors. Throw the cloth in the laundry with your mophead.
I have the Bissell Hydrosteam. I vacuum before I mop. Spills are picked up with towels. I use the self clean feature. It doesn't smell. Since it is a steam model, I do use distilled water and Bissell solution only. Floors are clean!
That makes sense to not have one more thing to clean. RE the vac mop you showed. Also- I have the two sided bucket and it makes sense to me because I’m not just dunking my mop into dirty water.
I’m in my 70’s bought a Bissell cross wave rechargeable vac mop. Worst pain in the you know what. Dirty water, dirty roller, full of dirt, dog hair etc. that I have to clean out of it. Stinky Got rid of it🧹 good old broom, mop and bucket 🪣 o’cedar 👍
I only use O’Cedar Spin Mop and vinegar I do wash it following every use!!!! I was it in a little bit of laundry soap, baking soda and vinegar in hot water and it smells like a clean mop should. It really smells like nothing at all.

For Australians, O'Cedar mops are branded as Vileda.
Same in Canada
I added a small trash can to my original spin mop bucket, which kept water separated, and it was only $1.23
The VERY reason I sold my Tineco was due to the lengthy process of its self cleaning option! I'd rather just grab my mop/bucket!

After mopping did you dump the soapy water and mop again with clean water
How do you clean the mop head with oxyclean? Do you add the oxyclean to the washing machine when you clean the mophead?
I soak the mop heads in the sink that sits next to the washing machine. Then toss them in the washer.
