If anyone didn't realise why Anise's Dying Moon was shown twice, it's because of her dialogue. The first one is when either Luke or Jade is in the party. The second one is when neither Luke nor Jade is in the party.
For those confused about 2nd artes, read this: Those secondary artes can only be unlocked during second playthrough of the game. Luke, Guy, and Natalia require specific weapons for their second arte to be unlocked (Luke has to have HP in red text as well). Anise requires 20,000 gald to be held before battle, though if you beat the enemy before the arte is done, then you can keep the gald. Tear requires all fonic hymns to be learned and used 50 times, Jade requires using Thunder Blade 50 times.
To @LightyGab: Tales of the Abyss is a fairly decent JRPG. And I've played lots. If you're into classical kinds, where the plot goes on for a while, and you like button-mashing gameplay, this game will be right up your alley.
I can't believe that you shot this with a digital camera! This just shows how great 3DS is, and how much it deserves a Tales of game. I just wish they'd localize more Tales of games in english. Maybe we can expect Hearts and Innocence for 3DS some time? We never did get an original DS title in english, even though they made three... Also, I'm so glad to see that this 3DS version has all the content that was added for the North American PS2 release.
@NolanKryptonite Celestial elegy doesnt kill you anymore throughout the entire move and I dont know about that bit on the Brimstone tempest second slash kill as both times in the video, Natalia had enough hp to survive the second slash
The fact that he used a didgital camera to get this means he must have like a stand or something keeping the camera in place. and some setup to keep the #DS completely still, but yet comfortable enough to play.
@darkfoxs1 Ok, this goes to many people... What I think, and you also should, is that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is coming out in November and so is Super Mario Land 3D so I think that they didnt want to have all those things at the same time
*continuing on*Guy needs a blade that is in the Fabre manor (only obtainable by side quest talking, so don't miss it, or it could be gone forever!) and the use of Final cross 50 times. Natalia requires the Elven bow (Which is obtain through a very annoying side quest) and use piercing line while in Overlimit. Luke needs the Key of Loreli (You get it through the main storyline, so it's ok) have HP below 15% *red text*, and press attack/guard/arte buttons all at once, so it can be tricky to get.
@Veghesther Brilliant Overlord's activation needs 50% HP or less. It's the same as in the PS2 version. Look. He had 2504 HP left. The one you're describing earlier in the video is his normal Mystic Arte Razing Phoenix which only requires OVL to be activated.
Btw did this version change Guy's 2nd hi ougi the one that triggers on this video after Final Cross (level 53 is gained.) After all on the PS2 version the only way to trigger it is with Guy down to his last 25% HP but this video shows the hi ougi with him closer to max HP left.
If theirs 1 thing I hated about Brilliant overlord for Guy isn't its damage its just that its only usable for a very few boss fights. ALL forms of the final boss Nibelim and the Tales of Cameos if you didn't fight them. After all the game didn't give me access to Guy's required weapon to trigger Brillant Overlord unless I saved in front of the final boss. As for Lost Fon Drive the accessory that makes it usable restores way too much HP so that never had Luke down to his last 25% HP.
@sonic26000 You have to be on your 2nd playthrough or more for some of theses. For Luke's extention, hold down the attack button. I'm not sure because I hadn't adusted to the different controls for the 3DS remake. For the Fortune's Ark extention, use all fonic hymns 50+ times & while using Judgement during Overlimit, hold attack button down. For Anise's extention, hold down attack attack button.
Well every time I started the game for a 2nd + playthrough the game would only give me access to the sword required for Brilliant Overlord only after all but the final boss in the final dungeon is dead. That's even after I attempted to leave the final dungeon before fighting Legretta the final time their.
lol. Wow they did the same thing I did for the Philia voice that I did three years ago and just got the Destiny one on it in the UNDUB. XD Liked the Ion voice though.
It seems that Celestial Elegy's slash no longer kills, nor does the second slash from Brimstone Tempest. Noble Roar has different sound effects and Indignation has a different camera angle? (not sure) There seems to be a lot of lag starting them up as a whole though (which was only present sometimes in the PS2 version)... o_0

@13Okuni1 That's Nebilim. I don't want to give away any spoilers but she's kind of like a hidden boss, the strongest one in the game, really. (She's fairly tough!) It's sorta like Abyssion is to Tales of Symphonia (if you've played it), you know what I mean? Not part of the main story but you can fight her if you get all of the special weapons needed to unlock her.
I have a question. Is Tales Of The Abyss 3DS Slowed down? For some reason watching all these videos they seem slowed down from the PS2 version in battles. Like the basic attacks and Artes seem slow. Someone who is playing the Japanese version tell me is the game run in 60FPS normally (3D Turned Off) and goes to 30 with 3D turned on. Or does it just stay 60FPS all the time?

WTF!?!? I finally just finished the game on my 3DS and there are so many artes that I have never seen before! And that character at 7:08! WTH IS GOING ON HERE!?!?
-the loading times are a LOT shorter in this game -None of the glitches of the PS2 are in this version -Run at 30 FPS, unlike the PS2 version which run at 60FPS -The obvious touch screen features such as map and equipment menu sadly the game lack of any real new feature, but at least is more enjoyable being portable and a lot faster
Some artes especially Bad-ass Jade are get from sidequest . .. and yeah, literally all character have second Mystic Arte at the second playthrough .. ..also that chick at 7:08 is the hardest boss in the game .. try goggling about this game hint and tip .Sorry i already forgot coz i play this game in 2006 at ps2 ..
@indiguneishon Yeah, they should've of made it possible to fight each boss solo with the corresponding character you know like Tear Vs Legretta, Anise Vs Arieta stuff like that xD

@Gotenks0002 well i beat nebilim with only tear in party because i equip mystic symbol and cast enchance cast on tear and than i went a little closer to nebilim and use holy lance to her :P... she's a bad magician...

Wtf I understand people saying the 3ds has better graphics then ps2 but this looks exactly the same. The only difference is that the gameplay on the 3ds is much slower then the original. I'll stay with the ps2 version.

Awww PS2 ENG version had it's share of glory when we had our Mystic Artes that JP didn't have. Now they got it...

@7ETRIX I haven't played a Kingdom Hearts game, but it's not a turn-based RPG. It's a real-time combat system, like all "Tales of" games are.

i never said it was a good thing, but it was some of the changes in the game, at least since is a portable, the 30fps doenst notice too much
