This is seriously beautiful, for some reason I always tend to like the pre-afro(or should I say crack) performances more, I wish there was footage of them playing there but performing Starslight which is totally my favourite from them
@@carsenarsen8634 That's nice. I'm wasn't even born during that time, nor am I anywhere near from where this band comes from but that line also hits me in a nice way :)
A while back, when i First listened to Relationship of Command, I came across this video and found it sooo bad and weird. Now i fucking adore and give so much value to It.
thank u for posting this. this might be my favorite ATDI song. i like how they make the chorus more hardcore for live. but the recording on the album was so influential for me growing up.
It does suck right now, a lot of bands are breaking up. Bear vs. Shark, The Fall Of Troy, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, The Blood Brothers, Hot Cross, etc. Luckily there are some old and young bands still carrying the torch, like My Heart To Joy, La Dispute, Native, Papier Tigre, Cinemechaninca, The Velvet Teen, The Dilinger Escape Plan, Touche Amore, Grown Ups, Tera Melos, and Grown Ups to name a few.
Also to answer your question it is because music evolves over time. As much as I do love this song how boring would it be to have every song sound the exact same? Actually, that is why I love ATD-I period, because almost every of their songs sounds different.
i gatta find some underground kats who just have that raw energy that punk gave us, with that creativity that pushes music to another level my local underground is Ok still have many young kids who havent experimented and opened themselves enough
@SuperMario16bit The Fall of Troy sound alot like At The Drive In. They just scream. But they have the same enery and emotion... Listen to "the circus that has brought us back to these nights" by the fall of troy. Its Amazing.
I made a music video using this footage and the studio version.. The live version is faster so I had to do a lot of work to keep it in sync. My gift to fans of early ATDI! th-cam.com/video/2UPWXclu6KA/w-d-xo.html
No shit man. It's just ridiculous what shit is out there. Cedric was right "People are spoon fed by the radio". No one searches for good shit and try to be like the other. We need something worth while to intrigue us.
Dude, this is kinda horrible. But that is what makes it so great. The horrible video quality. The bad hair-cuts. The tiny, desperate room. The average music. Good, good stuff. I'm serious!
i was just talking about this to some friends yesterday, how everything has good has died, even indie bands coming out dont have any energy, everyone just wants to be in the woods playing tambourines, music has lost its soul once again
then start your own project! waah! waaaaahhhh!! it's easier and cheaper than ever. be the change u wanna see instead of pissing on everyone elses parade
@CoffmanTron3000 The 'Fros were in the process of being grown. If you watch more At The Drive In music videos, as the time goes on, the 'Fros get bigger.

We seriously grew up in the best era for music. I miss these days! Thanks for sharing this video.
I would give any amount of money to see the band reunite and play this live.

The lyrics make a lot more sense than usual with this audio quality!

"....you know you're beautiful when you're dead...." has got to be my favorite line in this truly awesome song.
the fugazi inspiration in this video is awesome i love it
Those drumsticks look three feet long
😆👌👌👌
Tony actually just has short arms.
@@MikaelKonradsson Absolutely! Watching his drumming pushed me to play better. ROC was constantly in my CD player.

Mars Volta and The Fall of Troy back together now, seen TFOT 3 times since their reunion tour and just saw TMV 4 days ago ❤️❤️❤️

"random word salad" is a good band name too
Great song and performance! Makes me just sad of seeing what drugs and success did to the band.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuucc, i cant handle this much power
These guys were so ahead of their time. You can see in todays "Commercial" music, how many bands try and emulate their sound and look.

El Gran Orgo sounds very pop punk to me.
There must be more of this. Does anyone have a link?
this kind of reminds me of seeing bearvsshark live. that band definitely split up tooo early. bvs was THE shit.
perfect.
damn is this like one of their first shows ever?
Best comment ever.
Weird, I must be one of the few people that think they don't sound remotely close to Fugazi/ Rites of Spring.
...ok? Nobody asked ???
FULL SESSION, CAN I?
Did you record this?
