Eh, I would had focused on making a mart that focused on the seasons Spring: flowers and other cute stuff Summer: cold drinks and sweets Fall: anything besides pumpkin spice stuff (kinda sick of ads shooting pumpkin spiced anything soon as fall hits, I'll offer pumpkin pie that's a out it there cx) Winter: fish and other sea creatures This is basic ideas for my possible market, it will change as time goes on, but focused more on farming, foraging or fishing, as well as baking, I'll leave mining and monster fighting to those that loves that, I don't usually do that but there's 1 more dino and fire slimes I still need to deal with
Also, if you marry Sam, he says that never will miss working at Joja. That proves that he still is happy, even if he didn't have a job. And it's really fun that he starts working at the library, I never noticed that!
As a new player who's completed the community center, I think the community center is the better route for beginners. It introduces you to items and farming challenges you might otherwise not known about. It gives you better goals for learning the game.
I always did Joja but I completed the community center during my current run. I actually enjoyed it even though it was frustrating. Lol Plus it makes it more wholesome. Your character was a former Joja employee. Why would they want to help out their former job?
@@summerrose7839 That too. It doesn't even fully benefit you. Ooo good job, you can get seeds on Wednesday and now have to build up hundreds of thousands of dollars EVEN MORE SO now because you wanna *buy* the upgrades. Bruh
I kind of wish that Joja was actually cheaper than Pierre’s, but there would be more of a benefit to shopping at Pierre’s, like crops from his store are far more likely to go silver or gold and tend to sell for more. As it is, there is no reason to go to Joja unless you need some seeds and it’s a Wednesday.
I've been saying this a lot recently but Lewis is just as bad as Pierre. He's like "Oh, i wish SOMEONE would fix up this community centre. The youth of today don't care about it and would rather sit in front of the tv. Anyway, i'll just leave the door open for you *wink* " Mate, don't give me that "youth of today" crap. As much as i love George, he's the only one in front of the tv all day. Unless you count Marnie staring at her microwave for literally hours! Also, Lewis does nothing to help the community. He could have had the minecarts, bridge and bus fixed but he'd rather spend tax payers money on a gold statue of himself. What a narcisist! Morris actually oversees the projects to fix these things so clearly cares more than Lewis!
Not to mention Lewis also f*cks Marnie on a regular basis, there's a reason why her shop is only open couple days a week, and Lewis is no where to be found most of the time.
So true. Lewis had been the mayor for decades , but doesn’t improve the town in any way. Obviously leaving it for you to fix the mess that he couldn’t be bothered to do himself.
This is it. We've come full circle. Before you know it there will be an entire movement that most people will be a part of (and not just a niche/meme thing) and suddenly Pierre will truly and officially be the bad guy. What a time to be alive!
I still belive that in some point we should have had a new election in the game, maybe one year after we finish the comunity center?? We could be introduce to a new chacter, who is totally the oposite of Lewis and when we gain some heart with him/her/them it can happens the ellection. He/she/they could get Lewis place and maybe helps us with somethings, maybe even generate some more misions!! And we could have a new arc to Lewis chacters, we could see a more sad and depress Lewis, one who finally recognize all he had donne doesn't go on smoothest as he think, and Marnie and us could help him pass by it, maybe it can be the key to Lewis finally assume Marnie as his lover (Even tho he doesn't deserve her, Marnie is too sweet)
I’m still convinced Pierre’s secret stash is a paternity test and he doesn’t want his family to know that he took one or that he knows Abigail isn’t his daughter but he still loves her anyway and knows that it would hurt Abigail but because of some Secret resentments for Caroline or a sick self loathing he hangs onto the results in his secret stash
My favorite fan theory is that Pierre is indeed Abigail's father but The Wizard is _Caroline's_ father, making Abigail the _granddaughter_ of The Wizard. It explains why Caroline was compelled to visit The Wizard's tower after moving to Pelican Town... not to hook up with The Wizard (Caroline would never cheat!) but because she felt a connection to her father.
Some of these points are valid, but i just think it's kinda ironic that the player literally escapes their 9-5 job at Joja to live on a farm and still buys the membership. By the way wasn't there a theory that if the player doesn't arrive at the farm early enough, Joja would've literally purchased the land.
I doubt Joja could have purchased it as they would have had to buy it from the player who Grandpa left the farm to in his will. For anyone thinking somehow that the town owns the farm remember when you first meet Abigail she says "It's a shame really, i loved walking through those abandoned fields" meaning it's private property and not the towns. If it belonged to the town she would still be able to explore it with or without your permission as it would be public property. Also Mayor Lewis and Robin always refer to the house as "Your Grandpa's old cottage" and not "The town farm cottage" again proving it's private property.
Absolutely possible, especially if you don't have to worry about planting one of everything. No RNG manipulation or animation cancelling necessary. 0. Play as a girl, it's worth an extra 500 gold. 1. Scrounge everything for the first couple of days - plan to cash out on the 12th. Buy only things that will turn a profit on or before the 12th. 2. On the 13th, buy as many strawberries as you can. They have to be watered by the 14th or you'll miss a harvest, so do as much as you can even the evening after the festival. Use regular sprinklers to reduce your time and energy usage in the mornings. 3. For the rest of the season, plant as you normally would - cauliflowers by the 16th, potatoes after that up until the 22nd, parsnips on the 23rd. Try to spend most of your time in the mines, looking for a coffee bean and getting ready to get quality sprinklers. 4. On Summer 1st, spend every penny you have on blueberry seeds. By Summer 15th (and again every 4 days after!), you can cash out for 150-300k, depending on how lucky you got in the mines and how hard you went on min-maxxing.
Joja and Pierre are both bad. I want a 3rd option where I use the community center as a town market where each villager can sell their goods all in one place. Imagine a place where you can buy homemade clothing, artwork, get your picture taken, buy blue chicken eggs, get a robot and listen to epic music before heading down to the local inn/tavern for an ale and a good time with your fellow villagers.
That sound better to be honest in the end pierre is a song of beach i dont stand him many thinks tell you he is quite selfish and likes to take granted other accomplishments
Ah local market. I don't see how it's feasible since Pelican Town relies on SV Fair annually. There's just not enough local demand. Maybe that's why 1.6 has new spring fair for the locals. While it's good, again no use for CC
The community center has a communal food pantry. While you can't see it being used, Evelyn and Lewis mention it. So with the pantry, Pam and Jodie can now get free food, grown by the community if they need it, instead of whatever Joja puts in their stuff! I do think the CC needs more functionality, and hell maybe even a cutscene where Pam or Jodie is encouraged by the farmer to use the pantry because there's no shame in needing help, especially when the community wants to rally around and give it.
I was disappointed when I finished the CC and no one even uses it. Like, even just having George hang out in there like Pierre mentioned he used to do or the pantry thing you mentioned would have been cool, or better yet having optional events for the community in there every season.
@@sentientpieceofcheeseI would rather have Sunday as public holiday so they all hangout at there or even a new event that celebrates at the cc. Completing cc are satisfying but the aftermath are kinda feel empty. I even have to download mod just so people come to cc.
I wish the CC had more use to it Like you can use the sowing room to sow some stuff Add food to the pantry And heck maybe even a little bed for the farmer to rest in incase you can't make it back to the farm in time (and also if you don't have any warp totems)
i cant remember if its ridgeside or sdv expanded but one of them adds a community center day once a season where every npc in town hangs out there and its a nice way to talk to everyone or give out gifts without running around, plus some extra dialogue@@sentientpieceofcheese
@@mehchocolate1257 What the hell does Joja have to do with Ridgeside?! Why are there so many people making stupid comments connecting things that aren't even CLOSE to actually being connected!
Sharky, you have absolutely blown my mind. I didn't think that deeply into the game before cuz the game trains you to like pierre over Joja. As more and more evidence shows up showing how awful some characters are to other characters (Pierre, Lewis) It makes you think more deeply than just the fun happy go lucky game it seems to be. (Shane was an obvious addition when that update came)
Community centre is portrayed in game as the "good" way, to encourage the player to participate in all game mechanics and teach you how to do different things. eg crop bundles involve farming, fishtank makes the player do fishing, forage bundle for foraging, construction and some of notice board for mining. You'll notice these are all different "skills". Community centre is designed to teach new players how to play and get the most out of the game. That's why the story kinda tries to push the whole "community centre good. Joja bad" mindset on you.
I would highly not recommend that. the community center has bundles where you have to bring goods to complete, those include crops, fordable, mining, fighting, fishing, etc. those bundles have rewards that will give you a sense of achievement, teach you various mechanics and keep the game from going monotonous. for a 2nd playthrough, it is recommended going with JoJo, as you will be so adept at the game, and the time, and effort to complete the bundles will make the rewards not worth it. the game will assume you go with the community center in your 1st playthrough and not tell you a lot of mechanics the are learned by completing the community center.
@@JayJayM57 you can collect rewards for community center bundles while saving up for the Joja membership. You don't get locked into the community route until you complete a full room. I usually grab the furnace and a few other rewards before hitting up Morris.
@@JayJayM57 I did community centre in my first playthrough and till year 3 i only unlocked three of the rooms but I already have decent amount of money, so im going to joja route and things are done in just a month in the game. i can say both have their own benefits. joja route really speeding up my progress a lot but cc also teach me a lot of basic features of this game. also, auto petter is the only reason i might keep going on joja routes in my next save files
I've done both several times and I found that you actually save on resources and time by joining Joja. While trying to fill all the orders for the community center, it's nice to receive gifts for your farm upon filling those orders, but the time you take to gather the resources, crops, and fish to fill those order, you could have just as well stored them for when you need them, or sell those crops and fish to make money and not worry about putting anything aside to fill orders, you also build up your farm quicker. Besides, Pelican Town already has a community center, it's Gus' Saloon. Almost everyone hangs out there whereas when you complete the community center, only 2 or 3 people ever bother with it, so what's the point? I recently started a new profile, and when Pierre was going to charge me $10,000 for a 2nd backpack, I said" Screw you Pierre, I'm joining JOJA. "
Thanks for this. On a very real note, I always do the Joja route, and it's mainly because I legitimately just find the game more relaxing. When I first started playing SDV, all I wanted to do was farm and have animals. I wanted to decorate stuff and make friends. I didn't want to stress over completing the community center, which to me seemed like a chore. Instead, I farmed, made money, and completed the Joja community projects, made friends with the villagers, and had a fantastic time. Also, many people quit playing SDV after completing the community center when there is a ridiculous amount of game content after that. Like I completed the Joja projects within the first year of my very first playthrough on my main account, and 10+ years in the game, I am still enjoying that file.
the great thing is u don’t have to stress about the cc, doesn’t matter wen u complete it and u can take it at ur own pace. so don’t think about it as a chore, more of a cool side quest to complete as you go along. it also has you making stuff you otherwise wouldn’t of even thought or known of doing.
@@vodka4680 There is still more use to Joja, you don’t need almost anything, just money and nothing else, more automated process (auto petter) The cc just kinda stays there and doesn’t help or give good stuff at all, just leaves you as a good guy and thats it
Great video! For me, Joja represents real-world evil corporations. So when we hate Joja, it has less to do with Joja themselves and more about Joja acting as the vessel we can pour our real-world frustrations into. For every Amazon employee fired for taking a washroom break, for every Walmart employee on food stamps, for every family owned business that went under... we can feel powerless to do anything about those real-world injustices, but we can hate Joja and refuse to shop there. So it feels good :) ...but I'll probably do a Joja run on my next save file lol
You hit the nail on the head. It doesn't matter that it's Joja, it matters that it's a megacorp coming and buying up cheap land to expand into a small town
I think it is amazing how different of a game the Joja option offers. What a flexible game that you can experience either way depending on your goals. Without the Joja option, a lot of the speed running or challenges wouldn't be possible or be a lot harder. If Joja were your only choice the game would feel a bit flat. Stardew is many games in one. To me that is what makes it so unique.
I choose the community center just because of the Junimos, I love to have them in the farm and are very useful xD. I love to explore the caverns and the adventures, so I got like 5 petters and don´t know what to do with them and for free. I think it depends of how you play the game. I chose the community center and not regret it, but it was sad that some people lost the jobs.
I'm the opposite. As a retail employee I think it's more of a punishment for him to stay in a dead end, minimum wage job he hates, but has to continue going to.
You do realize that Sam also loses his job there but he starts working at the library and says he's much happier doing that than whatever it was that he was doing at Joja, right? Shane could easily find something else to do but doesnt.
Some of these points I didn't know, like how late they were open. I picked Joja for my language learning save file so I wouldn't have to struggle in a language I don't understand that well yet for the CC and it has been very convenient to just focus on money and chill playing. I will marry Sam to get positive use out of the Joja Cola machine.
I might try the joja route when I get bored of my cc run. I just go with cc mostly bc I love the lil junimo cutscenes when u complete bundles. They hang out with u for a bit and it's adorable.
Also Morris is just the store manger he doesn’t own Joja he’s literally just doing his job, that’s be like blaming a manager at Walmart for decisions made by corporate
I wish the community center was built together WITH the community. You have to ask people around town for their help like Robin to make tables and chairs and you have to provide the wood to make it or asking Penny to design the children’s room so she can teach in it. I think it would be really nice way to connect the community together because everybody had a part and making it. Like look what we built as a community.
I'm doing Joja route right now as I have Stardew Expanded, which makes some changes that really make it worth it! It's very weird not having to save items or grow certain things, or wait to fish or grow in the correct season and stuff for the bundles. It makes the game feel really different.
Is Stardew Expanded a mod??? I have never done well with installing mods and getting them to work. I've tried in Sims but never in Stardew. Not computer literate.
@@Murphycats sve is a mod and worth trying out! I currently have 150+ mods that I installed literally like 3 days ago lol. All I had to do was search for a few tutorials and I was all set in a day! While I do find an easy way with computers, this was my first time ever modding a game and I think watching a few videos is enough. I got all my mods from nexusmods!
Yeah, it's a LOT more peaceful! No need to hunt for that Gods damned red cabbage or red cabbage seed either! That's almost ALWAYS the thing that keeps me from finishing it in one year, even when I turn on the "guarantee one year completion", I ALWAYS end up missing a few days!
"Pierre buys from you and sells at a profit", that's how businesses work. My complaint is that if you go CC, Pierre spends even less time with his family by opening on Wednesdays.
I decided to go the joja route for the first time on my current playthrough, and the fact that i had the greenhouse unlocked before the end of the first spring has instantly made this route better than the community center for me lol
These are all fair points - especially the auto-petter - but doing the Joja route seems pointless. Completing the community center is a challenge, and the challenge can be refreshed and made even more challenging with remixed bundles. It pushes you to go through all different aspects of the game. That's interesting, and you learn a lot. Getting the rewards, even if they don't make up in strict value for what you produce to get them, is fun and sometimes very helpful. On the Joja route, all you do is make money and pay for community upgrades. (Which, to be honest, are only of use to the player and don't appear to mean much if anything to the community.) Just making money is boring - why even bother? And getting that nasty Joja Cola dispenser is a detriment, not a reward! I can see the utility of the Joja route for speedrunners or people doing some specific type of challenge, but if you are just casually playing through the game, I can't see why you would want to do it. But I guess everybody has different aspects of the game they enjoy.
So basically, you’ve got two options. One has a lot more charm and asks you to take your time, enjoy some good ol’ fashioned work, and challenge yourself. The other has better material benefits and allows you to complete it more quickly for less effort. In other words, both routes are representative of their themes.
I've got hundreds of hours into Stardew and I always picked the CC. But after putting the game aside for almost a year, I decided I wanted to go the JoJa route. Honestly, it is far more relaxing than the CC way. And why should you be the one to fix it anyway? Robin told me that she offered to fix it but the Mayor never gave her the go ahead. You just moved there, shouldn't the people who've lived there forever try to fix it up? And most of the people there are rude to you at first like Linus , the old man in the wheelchair, Jodie, Haley, Sebastian, Clint, the purple girl, the drunks, even Gus, who told me not to scare off his two best customers. I really like the "evil" way. I mean, I've done every kind of bundle there is and didn't want to do yet another CC run for the 25th time. It's really great.
Personally I’ll probably go with Joja for any “gimmick” runs. Such as playing stardew valley as a bootlegger (selling alcohol) cause then I don’t need to screw up my farm setup with the odd crop just to fill out a community center bundle.
What I love about the CC is it gives me direction. It's a giant treasure hunt! However I can really see some pros to Joja. If it's late & I realize I need seeds it's frustrating when they're gone. And when you sell to Pierre people start talking about how excited they are to see an expanded sales list. Joja has tons of crazy varieties of everything!! It seems healthier than the few foods Pierre must sell. I don't see Pierre's dreams of expansion as evil. He's got dreams to be more than a small town store owner. I'm neutral to Pierre & Morris. I'm planning on trying some Joja routes, but I'll miss the treasure hunt of the CC.
Idk if anyone remembers but in the intro, the farmer actually works at a joja corporate office before leaving. When i first saw the jojamart after the game started, i thought wait that's where i woreked before and there's no way i'm helping them out lmao
Wish if we joined Joja Morris and the Cashier would become more involved in festivals and stuff. I know the game pushes for the community center but this video has encouraged me to try for Joja in my next run, that and the wilderness farm being the 2 options I've yet to try.
What should have happened with Pierre vs Joja is that if you buy from Pierre you get better chance for quality crops whereas you buy from Joja is less of a chance but it’s cheaper.
in my first world I tried to do the community center but was having a hard time getting all the different fishes and ores, so I joined Joja and was actually very pleased with it. And I sell their soda for daily profit
Actually, following the CC route is better because you need to fish hard and fight hard. It actually pushes you to level up your skill levels to get all 10s in all skills instead of just farming. The CC and all other notice board quests should be taken very seriously.
Well thought out, Sharky! I already thought completing the community center was unnecessarily inconvenient to the player (Clint going there on Fridays, missing out on the auto petter, ect) then it sits there unused for all intents and purposes, but now I'm really convinced it's not all it's cracked up to be! Thanks for sharing! 👍
The reason Joja feels wrong is because the game sets itself up from the start as anti-capitalism. It's sort of startling when you realize the capitalistic Joja is better
One time I was playing with my siblings and for whatever reason I was diving in the skull cavern and found a treasure chest that contained auto petter. We didn’t know what that was at the time but we had the wiki and searched for it there. That day I knew I was stupid for taking the CC (because I don’t want to pet all the pigs in my farm. Which we had a LOT of)😊
So obviously there are some benefits to choosing Joja, but I believe it completely goes against the entire premise of the game; escaping the city which is full of corporations, and experiencing a simpler life, more involved with nature and the members of the small community of Pelican Town. Even if it doesn’t actually affect Pierre in the game much, him being the provider of local goods to the community is better than a Joja store importing goods from elsewhere.
The only reason that really convinces me to any extent is how awful Pierre is. I just couple of days ago had that quest cutscene happen where he tries to sell MY vegetables for 10x price without so much as asking me or giving me any credit for the quality and then has the nerve to use me as the last resort and I'm so glad even my mute character automatically rejects that shit right out of the gate. Then there's how awfully he treats his family. I don't really remember any times when he shows real affection to them but I do remember how he treats Abigail and if the obvious hints are true, he probably mistreated Caroline quite a bit as well. He's starts assaulting his competitor for slightest provocation and if you talk some sense to him and he goes the peaceful route, the whole cutscene is just pure emotional manipulation ultimately for the purpose of giving him the monopoly in town. Yeah, sure, there might other noble goals as well but in the end he's the one who benefits from that the most. And as you said, the fact that he doesn't hire any local youngsters is not only emblematic of how much he doesn't care about the town but also horrible business move. Which one do you think families choose: the shop where their pride and joy works hard or the shop with no ties to them whatsoever. And little extra help could easily give him opportunity to expand the business. After all, money goes to money. If you wanna make profit you need to invest. That kind of incompetence is to me the worst kind of sin he commits. Without player deus ex machina he's bound to stay as failing small time business owner.
Yeah, I wish to do overthrow Lewis aswell since he uses the money he gets on stupid stuff while ignoring what actually the town needs and wish I could be the mayor :( since the player will soon help out The Town's People.
I mean...the opposite is Joja having a monopoly, which is a corporation and not a small business. Also Pierre uses his house for the town church and and excersize classes!! He does serve the community!
Joja is good but for new players the community center is much better for them as it helps them learn and understand the game more and opens them up to more challenges which gives them a better grasp on the game and honestly completing it was more fun that the Joja route so if your a casual player go for the Community Center and if you wanna try new things go for Joja
You just gotta support Pierre because he’s a small business owner, but I never thought about how Joja employs Sam and Shane but Pierre has no one… Maybe it’s time to be Team Joja
I recommend doing Joja route with Stardew valley expanded mod, gives Joja route much more content, Morris will have hearts and events, and basicly feels much less bad going that route
Boys this is my first playthrough and I just chose Joja like an hour ago. The second I realised JUST how much work it's gonna take to unlock a damn greenhouse (let alone everything else) I had absolutely no problem siding with Joja. I am halfway through Fall and there is absolutely NO way in hell I'm finishing the Fall bundles, then Winter bundles, THEN Spring bundles, AND THEN Summer bundles just to unlock what I've just had built before Winter's even hit. Joja saves you easily at least an in-game year worth of grinding. RIP the Junimos but I need technology. Praise the machine.
okay, yes, joja is better in terms of saving money and such, but its just less convenient. in order to have morris lower the prices to match pierre, you have to pay 5000g. even if its not that much later game, its a lot of money early game, which is hard to get. because early game you don't have access to higher selling crops, better tools, a horse, etc, having jojamart be on the opposite side of town makes it a longer walk as well, for the exact same things at a higher price. this one is also a personal thing, but morris makes me deeply uncomfortable and i am not sure why. i dislike the fact that shane becomes unemployed when joja closes down, but there really isn't a way to win in that regard because shane will be miserable regardless of what you do. not working at joja will probably be better for him in the long run, mentally. plus, the community center encouraged me to actually start upgrading things, to start exploring, to get animals, to grow more crops, etc. for joja you just have to raise a lot of money. however, that being said, i still dont like pierre. he is greedy, selfish, a liar, and overall really rude. so personally ill probably always go to the community center with the exception of maybe one run just to see what joja is like, but its really up to personal preference. i think because joja is a larger corporation it feels more like youre giving into capitalism
To bad Gus dosent get a day off or Jojo isnt closed on Sundays or something. Its my european ass but yeah Sundays is off for all workers unless they are paid overtime
The main character felt hollow and lifeless working for the Joja corporation and left because of it. It feels wrong to work with them. I know from experience. The community center felt impossible to finish the proper way, so when I did it the Joja way in my first playthrough, it was way easier, but it felt wrong afterwards. The ultimate hollow victory. I had to start over and do better, and I actually succeeded. I felt so much better and deleted the Joja save with no regrets. I can't go back to Joja in any other playthrough, other than emergency Wednesdays for seeds...
I’m a newer player and I really appreciate you putting this out there! I didn’t realize that the Joja route was easier and it makes it to where when you wanna start a new save, you don’t have to go through the whole process of unlocking the entire community center again! I also agree that Pierre is shady, he’s always given me bad vibes. He plays the victim but then acts so cocky and cares more about his business than spending time with his family at events.
I joined Joja just to get the trophy (I play on PS4). Then I reloaded my save from my usb and finished the CC. I don't like Pierre, but I'm married to his "daughter", so I need to keep the in-laws happy.
no matter what you do, Pierre stays open 7 days a week. Plus the CC is better for co-op as there are more ppl focusing on one thing. for solos, it all depends on how bad your ADD/ADHD is, if you have it. and for those who marry Shane, like myself, it doesn't matter what route you go, he quits and comes lives on your farm.
As a casual player, I prefer to uphold my integrity. Pierre may not be perfect, but everyone has their issues. I don’t play through it to finish as fast as possible, I play it to relax and dream of a better world. Joja isn’t interested in a better world, all they care about is the person on top making as much money as possible.
So, I recently spoke to Sam at the Night Market after Completing the Community Center, and he made a comment about working at the museum. The previous night Shane made a comment about taking the night off to attend the Night Market with Jas. This implies that both of them got new jobs after Joja closed down.
The community centre is the best giving a challenge for players and it make a relationship with villagers there's things the villagers love it from this community centre
one reason to not do JoJo. gameplay experience. if you are on your 2nd or 3rd play, joining JoJo makes sense. but for the 1st game experience, there`s nothing more satisfying than completing the community center. the quest rewards style of the community center keeps you active and pushes you to explore and learn the game. without the community center, the game can grow to be monotonous and boring. the fact that you can fail to complete a bundle and have to wait a year makes the game trilling and it also helps you be aware of the traveling merchant, who sells overpriced but useful things like a rare see.
You know what they should kick Pierre out of pelican town and build the community center up to it’s og and Pierre’s house could be jojas storage like how they wanted to do I hate Pierre
I do both, personally. The boiler room in the community center is a fast fix, then I pay for Joja and save the money from fixing the mine carts and put that towards the greenhouse.
Honestly, the fact that Pierre takes full credit for growing all your good produce makes me more than happy to make the rest of the community suffer with that ugly blue warehouse Also, it's kinda what makes my current no farming, fishing, or foraging run possible.
I started playing on my Switch and did the Joja route. I really liked it. I wanted to go back to my Steam save and couldn't remember the buttons on the keyboard so I struggled. lol Love to watch your videos on SV. It is the best.
The only reason why Morris gave Pierre’s customers 50% coupons was to make everyone think that Joja was the superior choice, to cause Pierre’s general store to close and to leave Joja remaining.
Listen, watching Pierre punch Morris in the face after the community center was completed was absolutely worth it. Also, HOW ARE Y'ALL COMPLETING STUFF IN LIKE YOUR FIRST YEAR??? IT TOOK ME LIKE 3 IN GAME YEARS!
I don't have a problem with either route, except that I find the Joja route to be exceptionally boring. It's not as fun, for me, to turn in money over items. Also, Sam gets a job at the museum after you complete the community center, so I wouldn't say he's unemployed.
The thing is, is that I do hate mega corporations and conglomerates, but I also really hate Pierre, so it's a tough call for me to choose one or the other to ruin.
JOIN JOJA,
THRIVE
ok I need the achievement anyway 👍
Amen, Join the dark side.
Fun thing i think clint takes fridays off cause its also the day his birthday falls on i know cause I had to reset the day looking for him
And joja route gives you the ability to BUY those autopetters. Don't have to grind for chests at skull caverns.
They are both useless because of seed makers
Shame there's not a third option, like simply opening your own farmer's market and underselling Pierre AND Morris.
YESSSSSSS
Yes
I would love that
Maybe even have your spouse and kids help out
If I marry Abigail I should be able to inherit Pierre's lol
@@miserablysane420 psstt... abigail is not Pierre's biological child, but fortunately he didn't know.

Summer: cold drinks and sweets
Fall: anything besides pumpkin spice stuff (kinda sick of ads shooting pumpkin spiced anything soon as fall hits, I'll offer pumpkin pie that's a out it there cx)
Winter: fish and other sea creatures
This is basic ideas for my possible market, it will change as time goes on, but focused more on farming, foraging or fishing, as well as baking, I'll leave mining and monster fighting to those that loves that, I don't usually do that but there's 1 more dino and fire slimes I still need to deal with
Whereas Shane does become unemployed post-Joja, Sam doesn't. He starts working at the library.
Shane breeds chicken and become rancher like his aunt.
Even the red headed check out lady starts working at the theater. The only one not with a job is Morris

On the first playthrough everyone goes community center tbh.. but after a couple playthroughs it's just a chore

Plus it makes it more wholesome.

Anyway, i'll just leave the door open for you *wink* "
Mate, don't give me that "youth of today" crap.
Yeah and George has a reason to be in front of the TV all day 😭
I still belive that in some point we should have had a new election in the game, maybe one year after we finish the comunity center??
Personally I think it's his spank mags the majority of people have a secret stash of spank materials
Very ingenious theory, although I don't buy it. Very original though!
@@HeatherQuinn-Psykhae that would explain Wednesdays
My favorite fan theory is that Pierre is indeed Abigail's father but The Wizard is _Caroline's_ father, making Abigail the _granddaughter_ of The Wizard. It explains why Caroline was compelled to visit The Wizard's tower after moving to Pelican Town... not to hook up with The Wizard (Caroline would never cheat!) but because she felt a connection to her father.
@@davetoms1 if I remember correctly, red hair is a recessive gene passed down from your grandparents. Maybe the magic purple is too.
Some of these points are valid, but i just think it's kinda ironic that the player literally escapes their 9-5 job at Joja to live on a farm and still buys the membership. By the way wasn't there a theory that if the player doesn't arrive at the farm early enough, Joja would've literally purchased the land.
I'm not sure, but if it is a theory, then it's meaningless.
@@HerbCatt Most of my runs I choose Joja solely in spite for Pierre

**before we continue, this video is sponsored by joja mart*
Joja and Pierre are both bad. I want a 3rd option where I use the community center as a town market where each villager can sell their goods all in one place. Imagine a place where you can buy homemade clothing, artwork, get your picture taken, buy blue chicken eggs, get a robot and listen to epic music before heading down to the local inn/tavern for an ale and a good time with your fellow villagers.
That sound better to be honest in the end pierre is a song of beach i dont stand him many thinks tell you he is quite selfish and likes to take granted other accomplishments
Joja isn’t bad it’s a pretty reputable company at least to its customers like it a better version of any Walmart morris is the ass hole not joja
Sounds like a mod is beginning to take shape!!

Like you can use the sowing room to sow some stuff
Add food to the pantry
And heck maybe even a little bed for the farmer to rest in incase you can't make it back to the farm in time (and also if you don't have any warp totems)

It never trained me, my lazy ass never fell for it lol
So I started my first Joja run, and to rub it in Pierre's face even more, I'm marrying Abigail.
The chad of the century. Right here.
This has convinced me to go Joja route for the first time in my game I just started.
@@mediagemini5206 That`s a little too complicated for a 1st playthrough. It is much simpler to complete the community center and learn all the basics.
You should just use the community center for your first play through but then do joke after
I've done both several times and I found that you actually save on resources and time by joining Joja. "
All my homies love JOJA

@@vodka4680 There is still more use to Joja, you don’t need almost anything, just money and nothing else, more automated process (auto petter)

So it feels good :)
...but I'll probably do a Joja run on my next save file lol

Joja runs are good for cheat runs. If you do the item name generation thing to make money, then you can get things done faster with joja.

You hit the nail on the head. It doesn't matter that it's Joja, it matters that it's a megacorp coming and buying up cheap land to expand into a small town
@@finalfant111 SHHHH! Now that's going to be fixed in 1.6 like it was with Gus in... I don't remember which update!!!

I just want to say that I think that is really cool! And I don't mean to be nosy, but can I ask what language you're learning? 😊
Same, I'm in my first autumn married Ro Sam. I've been completing bundles but if it's possible i will get they Joja membership for that soda machine
I actually prefer the movie theater by the mine carts for convenience, but it is more aesthetic in the CC location.
I'm doing Joja route right now as I have Stardew Expanded, which makes some changes that really make it worth it! It's very weird not having to save items or grow certain things, or wait to fish or grow in the correct season and stuff for the bundles. It makes the game feel really different.

His family doesn't love him anyway, so no loss.
I decided to go the joja route for the first time on my current playthrough, and the fact that i had the greenhouse unlocked before the end of the first spring has instantly made this route better than the community center for me lol
I have never completed the community centre. I'm glad someone is advocating for the superior route honestly 😂
It's really great.
i just like the aesthetics of the community center but i'd rather fix it all with gold.
I do it because small apple bois
Personally I’ll probably go with Joja for any “gimmick” runs. Such as playing stardew valley as a bootlegger (selling alcohol) cause then I don’t need to screw up my farm setup with the odd crop just to fill out a community center bundle.
I've never actually gone to the darkside before but this video is the push I need to try the Joja route! Thanks Sharky!

Rebuilding the Community Center helps the Junimo. Don't even worry about who's better between Pierre and Joja: it's all for the Junimos
That's what joja customer satisfaction representative would say
What should have happened with Pierre vs Joja is that if you buy from Pierre you get better chance for quality crops whereas you buy from Joja is less of a chance but it’s cheaper.
in my first world I tried to do the community center but was having a hard time getting all the different fishes and ores, so I joined Joja and was actually very pleased with it. And I sell their soda for daily profit
The fishing is a nightmare 😂 it took me about 4 real life months to catch an anchovy 😂
Actually, following the CC route is better because you need to fish hard and fight hard. It actually pushes you to level up your skill levels to get all 10s in all skills instead of just farming. The CC and all other notice board quests should be taken very seriously.
The 10 reasons were a little weak and contradicting... But your extra reasons that start at @4:50? Simply amazing 🤣🤣💀 A+ content right here👌
Well thought out, Sharky!
It's not the capital that's wrong, it's how you use it.
And the Joja route means destroying everything in order to satisfy yourself.
Neither route is capitalist lol, predator monopolies are anti competition and anticapitalist
-Yeahhhhh it's lot better than community center
+So are you gonna do it ?
-No
"Are you Team Morris, or Team Pierre?"
*Personally, I would like to overthrow both.*
His town church is for tax purposes.
I always thought it was a weird cult he was running
My entire thought process throughout this entire video was just: "say it...say it...say it... 5:40 , ah. *there* it is"
Joja is good but for new players the community center is much better for them as it helps them learn and understand the game more and opens them up to more challenges which gives them a better grasp on the game and honestly completing it was more fun that the Joja route so if your a casual player go for the Community Center and if you wanna try new things go for Joja
This is how Walmart destroyed rural America.
Wow Sharky! You convinced me! I must now do a Joja playthrough! Love your content! Thank you!
Now, Sam does get a new job if you complete the community center. He works in the museum/library
Pierre opening on wednesdays is enough to stick with community centre route for me
0:16 we hate joja because of morris which is a great reason
I just don't like to run all the way across the map
Actually doing the joja route locks you out of the jumimo hut
Some of my farmers go with Joja, some don't. One does do a bit of Community Center before going with Joja too.
Convenience vs. Experience. Yeah I'll take the community center, thanks
I know your just being paid by joja to say this really
I’m a newer player and I really appreciate you putting this out there! I didn’t realize that the Joja route was easier and it makes it to where when you wanna start a new save, you don’t have to go through the whole process of unlocking the entire community center again! I also agree that Pierre is shady, he’s always given me bad vibes. He plays the victim but then acts so cocky and cares more about his business than spending time with his family at events.
I joined Joja just to get the trophy (I play on PS4). Then I reloaded my save from my usb and finished the CC. I don't like Pierre, but I'm married to his "daughter", so I need to keep the in-laws happy.
ngl after watching this vid i might go with joja instead of that community center tasks and waits for seasons to complete
no matter what you do, Pierre stays open 7 days a week.
Plus the CC is better for co-op as there are more ppl focusing on one thing.
for solos, it all depends on how bad your ADD/ADHD is, if you have it.
and for those who marry Shane, like myself, it doesn't matter what route you go, he quits and comes lives on your farm.
Got it! Put Pierre out of business, marry "his daughter," push his wife back to the Wizard, and love your animals!
Okay but all of this cam be disproven with one thing
The Junimos
Stop yapping

imagine putting a junimo hut in your farm after u ignored them at the community center and chose joja route hshshshsh
Number 1 Reason for me.... there's no fishing to do. I absolutely hate fishing. I'm horrible at it. So yea I think I will go Joja on my next run.
I'm exactly just one fish away now. 😂
You know what they should kick Pierre out of pelican town and build the community center up to it’s og and Pierre’s house could be jojas storage like how they wanted to do I hate Pierre
after the 50th skull cavern run without an autopetter jojo looks more and more appeasing
I do both, personally. The boiler room in the community center is a fast fix, then I pay for Joja and save the money from fixing the mine carts and put that towards the greenhouse.
7:11 I'm team sandy :D
Just done JoJo for achivement. But would do it never again
These are great reasons but I enjoy having the thrill of doing the community center.
Honestly, the fact that Pierre takes full credit for growing all your good produce makes me more than happy to make the rest of the community suffer with that ugly blue warehouse
Also, it's kinda what makes my current no farming, fishing, or foraging run possible.
I started playing on my Switch and did the Joja route. I really liked it. I wanted to go back to my Steam save and couldn't remember the buttons on the keyboard so I struggled. lol Love to watch your videos on SV. It is the best.
Honestly I do the CC for the Junimos because I feel bad for the poor little guys
The only reason why Morris gave Pierre’s customers 50% coupons was to make everyone think that Joja was the superior choice, to cause Pierre’s general store to close and to leave Joja remaining.
lol, you love for Jodi is so sweet...even if she's married...
I dont like Pierre and i dont like Morris either, but i speak for the junimos.
A spectre is haunting Stardew Valley - the spectre of Junimism.
Dude casually forgot skeleton in the intro
Listen, watching Pierre punch Morris in the face after the community center was completed was absolutely worth it. Also, HOW ARE Y'ALL COMPLETING STUFF IN LIKE YOUR FIRST YEAR??? IT TOOK ME LIKE 3 IN GAME YEARS!
I want the bonuses from completing each package.
I don't have a problem with either route, except that I find the Joja route to be exceptionally boring. It's not as fun, for me, to turn in money over items.
Also, Sam gets a job at the museum after you complete the community center, so I wouldn't say he's unemployed.
The best reason to join joja is because Pierre is a PoS. And let's not get started on the user Lewis.
I have been contemplating doing a Joja playthrough. This is very helpful, thanks! 😊
The thing is, is that I do hate mega corporations and conglomerates, but I also really hate Pierre, so it's a tough call for me to choose one or the other to ruin.
