Another variant could be "every room side is one tile longer" where you have a 1x2, 2x3, 3x4, etc

@@luizamarangoni8200 The first one was adding one tile to each room, so the first room had one tile, then two, etc, so to get a 4x4 room you would need 16 rooms. The 1x2, 2x3, 3x4 would make bigger rooms faster than the original challenge, but the rooms would be smaller and less boxy than the 1x1, 2x2, 3x3 challenge

    Suggestion: the Tetris challenge
You'd play a game of Tetris, and you have to use the shape of the first 10 pieces you get to create the rooms with. Any size you wish, but they have to be that shape.

You should do this again, but with "golden rectangles." Essentially rooms with dimensions that are adjacent Fibonacci numbers. For example, the Fibonacci sequence is 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, etc. so you could have a 1x1, 1x2, 2x3, 3x5, 5x8, 8x13, 13x21, etc.

    • @AlexaFaie

@@theductductgoose Their version was 1x2, 2x3, 3x4, 4x5, 5x6, 6x7, 7x8 etc just adding one wall length to each side of the rectangle. Which isn't the same as using the Fibonacci sequence at all.

Y'all should make a Fibonacci house! But instead of squares make it the number of tiles in the room. Would be a nice middle ground for tiny rooms and obnoxiously large rooms. (1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,35,55,89)

If you did that "double the room size" challenge, you could put the 16x16 room in the basement. :D

Note on massive bedrooms: You can place some fairly tall half-walls to help section off the room, then get your bb.moveobjects friend on and pop some curtains over the opening. Makes it look like a room divider without technically splitting up the room. Idk if that makes sense but I do it all the time, I like it especially with open loft type of vibes😆

Tip, you could put a half wall in the middle of one of the giant rooms and have a kitchen-livingroom combo.

Yeaht he bedroom would have been perfect for that and then used the 4x4 as a bedroom and the 2x2 and 1x1 as the bathroom for said bedroom. And you could have gone with a lofted upstairs for another bedroom or so.

This could have been an opportunity for an upside down house! The rooms downstairs could have been bedrooms/bathroom and the massive room upstairs could have been an open plan living/kitchen area lol

I always feel like James’ outro is like in oscars where they put the music on to rush them off the stage, and his music is rushing him off to finish the video quickly.

Dude that kitchen is fucking beautiful, the blue was a great choice. This house gives me grandparents vibes. The romp room is for the grand kids!

While James was doing the weirdest layout I saw myself living in a house like this. Being the upstairs a dance/music/art studio and redistributing the rooms to make it more liveable 😂

I actually quite like the way you built the house - and I don't think it looks bad at all, even if I wouldn't live there myself. Always enjoy watching your build videos - thank you for this one, too!

Every room is the same size/shape but use a number generator between 2 and 10 for the sides (e.g., 3×5) would be really fun!

I'm surprised James didn't go with his usual modern touch . I see this house being a perfect opportunity for flat roofing, big multi windows in the front and a potential glass rooftop

Always love seeing you attempt challenges xD this was a nice twist to the last one! Still pretty quirky lol. From watching your last build and now seeing this one I think it would be an interesting challenge to build a house only using rooms on the gallery and piecing them together somehow to make a livable home ^_^
