      Marines, and most other servicemen, can be very skilled linguists. Specifically in the areas of threats, insults, and describing some form of grievous injury or grisly demise.

      In the air, on land, and sea;
      First to fight for right and freedom

      We are proud to claim the title
      Of United States Marine.

      my question is where would she have this Marine deported to?? had she not learn of the Spanish American War and even though Puerto Rico is not a state but the people can come and go anywhere on the main land. and that they even vote. Interesting story. my husband is a man born in Spain and who was raised in Venezuela so he is more American than European. when he was sent to Spain to finish his education since the communists in the 1960's was attack school in Venezuela, he came back to Venezuela and told his mom and dad that he wanted to become an US citizen. it took them years to get into the country as legal immigrants but they did it in 10 years. so he is in the state in the New England area and waiting in a doctor's office seating near two old ladies who are speaking Spanish with a Puerto Rician accent but he understood everything they said. and they were commenting how ugly he was and laughing. not much of a man because he was skinny and too pale etc. they were called into the doctor office for a consult and than the nurse came into waiting room and ask my husband to be a translator for someone who could only speak Spanish, he agreed and it was the two ladies who were talking to him. he sat across the desk to the doctor near them and started translating the information to the ladies. they asked him were he came from because he could speak Spanish. he said he was born in Spain and his family has lived there for centuries. they were surprised and asked him, "so they speak Spanish in Spain???? " He said "yes and that they were the original Hispanics since it is a Latin word given to them my the Romans and it means the people from the land of the rabbits. " He still became an American citizen as soon as he could and was sworn in and went to work and they gave him a party at his workplace. He was surprised and grateful for the welcome.

    Never mess with a Marine, even if they're in blues.
    We had a shoplifting incident at a large box store I worked at (15 years ago or so). The Toys for Tots Marines were outside on the sidewalk since it was a decent day that day. Some guy decides he's going to steal something, security chases him (back in the day when security could actually stop them), and he runs out and smack into one of the Marines. The marine picked up on what was going on fast and grabbed him, but the guy moved to fight and swung on him. I never did find out exactly what happened in the moments after, but I know there was a considerable amount of blood on the curb, the cops eventually arrived, and everyone reputable who had seen it said that he had run into the Marine and then "Tripped on the curb". That he had "tripped on the curb" several times and pretty much busted up his face in ways few rounded, low-lying, concrete structures are able was accepted by pretty much everyone.

      @@ravenouself4181 No, it's a symptom of some very high emotional reaction. When it happens, you mostly lose control over yourself and you vision tends to see everything more reddish. You also become able to mostly ignore pain. It's kind of an aggressive panic. You could also call it a "berserk" mode. People tend to be physically violent when it happens to them, but they also can just yell.
      It's very exceptional in most people that don't live through terrible situations, but to some, every situation feels terrible… And that's a mental sickness requiring psychological medical attention; sadly most fail to recognize it as such. Like many Karens.

But the patterns are there, if you look close enough. She IS smart ( Organizational/Logistics savant, perhaps? Kinda hard to see if true/false ) But she confuse reality with make believe, which points out that she thinks in a more linear logic way (It's on the tv, must be true, then).

Soldiers on active duty are given a clothing allowance, there are some regulations regarding uniform issuing, but most of the time they have to pay for their uniforms outside of the first issue. Not when it comes to the Dress Blue uniform. The Service Uniform (the brown dress uniforms), are issued in bootcamp, along with the dress blue slacks and tan button ups. But the Dress Blue jacket is NOT issued to Marines unless their specific MOS or B-billet requires them to wear it regularly. If your average Marine wants to buy the Dress Blue jacket, they pay for it out of pocket. You're not wrong about Puerto Rico though. There is no one more entitled than a military spouse. They seem to thick that just because there spouse is in the military, that they have the same rank. They truly are a royal pain. Especially when they want information about their pay. Delt with far to many while I was in the Navy. I served 10years and I worked in Disbursing. One particular incident was when after I had informed this woman that it was not allowed, after I go home (didn't realize that she lived in the same apartment complex) decided that she was going to kick my behind. She found out very quickly that was not going to happen. lol.

    I worked with one of those "dumb-as-a-rock" but highly educated people. This woman did not know her car ran on gasoline. EVERY time she ran out of gas, she called her mechanic who towed the car in and then he returned all "fixed". These mechanics really had a cash cow with her. Well, someone must have finally educated her cause one summer day I was driving with her and the car began to overheat. I commented that it must need water and we could add some as soon as we got to her home (we weren't that far). She replied in the most condescending, look down her nose voice - "don't be stupid, cars run on GAS!". I had to explain about how the radiator works for cooling the engine.

    In that last story, I think that entitled woman's bias got in the way of her common sense. She assumed they were staff and refused to acknowledge that they were not, even though Marine Blues are pretty hard to mistake for anything else (aside from maybe a different military branch if you don't know what the different branch's dress uniforms look like). Its pretty messed up that the police never showed up...those dress uniforms are NOT cheap and its not like military is anything approaching rich. Even if the political connections could prevent assault charges, they should have at least paid for the dress coat. Throwing a glass at someone is assault by itself.
