    Story 5: Wearing your spouse's rank will not get you anything. In fact, your entitlement can actually lead to consequences on your spouse because people in the military are responsible for their spouse/kids' actions.

    • @KingNoah231
      @KingNoah231 ปีที่แล้ว +38

      Their spouse and kids are not the ones who are going through intense training and even attempting to use your spouses’ military rank will lead you nowhere in life and will probably cause them to lose their rank and in extreme cases kicked off from the military.

      @helenbontje15 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      This is why soldiers shouldn’t marry civilians. They should only marry fellow soldiers, veterans, or contractors. Military wives are honestly the worst and it’s kinda funny how it’s only the wives who act entitled and not the husbands. Says a lot if you ask me

    When the OP says that she hoped that Karen & co. would see the directory sign in stairs on the way down before they got to the architecture receptionist, I think we all know that Karen was not looking for the doctor's office anymore by that point. In any of these Karen stories where there is a spouse or kids involved that aren't entitled, crazy or delusional themselves I feel so bad for them bc you know they are thinking "oh no, moms at it again" or the spouse is thinking "oh great I'm going to have to waste money on bail again".

      I legitimately think she could benefit a lot from getting mental help, not meaning it as an insult - but I guess that wasn't what she was looking for.
      Tbh the more stories I listen to, the more I wonder how many if them run around with undiagnosed issues and at best annoy strangers, but also their family, impacting negatively the lives of their loved ones, mainly partner (maybe the partner truly didn't know what they were signing up for and later didn't have balls to get them help / set them straight) and kids (they are innocent and probably get ashamed a lot).

    I know the feeling about the "Well, I Never" quote. It does seem to be too animated and dramatic to use in public. I never understood the quote "How Dare You!" either. growing up in the 90's, I used to watch Rocko's Modern Life and that quote reminds me of Gladys the Hippo beating up Rocko in a grocery store for bumping into her while screaming "HOW DARE YOU!".

    Story #2: I experienced that first hand at my final state job. I used to work for a state CPS, and we had the most entitled foster parents you can find. One came to our main lobby security desk complaining about her paycheck. I happened to be passing by, asked a few questions and brought her up to our unit to talk to the payroll clerk for the region that she supposedly worked in. Long story short, the lady was a foster parent, and was complaining about the monthly check the state gives to the foster parent to use, allegedly, on the foster child. So she was complaining to the wrong department and actually needed to be sent elsewhere (note, a lot of foster parents are under the impression that they're employees of our CPS, thus act like mega-Karens.

    The story with the lady who ordered the consultant to grab her coffee and go to IT. If I was that consultant, I would have done exactly that, billed an extra hourly rate (consultants aren't cheap, and going outside of the scope of the consultant contract would be at least three times the going rate.) I assume his firm was billing about $500/hr. Now her coffee costs about $2,000. I hope it was worth it Karen.

    Architect vs doctors office story: OP had a LOT more patience than I would have had. After the first couple of minutes I would have been telling the Karen to leave my office before I called the police to have her removed.
    Major's wife story: Assuming you share your spouse's rank is the single biggest mistake a military dependent can make. And she accordingly got the book thrown at her with a loss of on base privileges , PX privileges and so on unless accompanied by her husband. If they LIVED on base the Colonel's order could have cost them their on-base housing. Such actions have also resulted in the military member being demoted or receiving unwanted transfer orders (or both) to a post no one wants to be assigned to. While the rank of Major is a mid-level officer rank, it shows the man has been in service long enough his wife SHOULD KNOW this is an unacceptable behavior.
    Loved the happy ending story!

On 9/11 my dad was supposed to fly out of Logan and after his flight was cancelled, he was able to get home via tanker trucks used to transport the product he sold. He called the company who sent a truck to his hotel, who fortunately hadn’t cleaned his room yet, so he was there another day. The truckers then arranged by CB for him to be handed off at truck stops and weigh stations halfway across the country.

Maintaining 10 feet (~3 meters) of separation is good when possible, as Karenic people like to strike people who prove them wrong.

    Love the last story. ❤ always good to hear something sweet once in a while. The military woman, wow! Brought back a memory from when my husband was in the Air Force. I was probably 19 or 20, my husband was an airman. Pretty low ranking, as he was only in the AF About 2 years at this time. I was shopping at the commissary and had stopped at the meat counter when I spotted a beautiful roast. I picked it up to examine it, knowing that we could not afford it, but one can dream when a woman came up beside me and grabbed the roast out of my hands. I looked at her shocked and grabbed it back this time keeping a firm grip on it. She tried to grab it again and yelled, “ do you know who I am? I’m Colonel so and sos wife, and I deserve this roast! “ I yanked the roast out of her grip, threw it in my cart and said, “ yeah? Well I’m airman’s so and sos wife and this is MY damn roast” and walked away. When I finally made it to the checkout, I realized I still had the roast and felt I had to buy it. I can say, that was the best damn roast ever, even if it did set us back a pretty penny.

    That Karen definitely overstepped her bounds. Military dependents are GUESTS of the military. As such they have no rank or authority and can be kicked off base at any time. Their spouses are responsible for their conduct and can even be demoted if the offense is severe enough.

    This is why I always ask people if they work here first and if they don't I then ask if they know where to find an employee.

    That 2nd to last story: guard duty after 9/11. No one can enter the housing area without ID. This dependa was trying to get into the area and we (the other person I was on duty with) told her she could enter without her ID. She did the classic, “Do you know who my husband is? He is an officer”. We both said no and told her she still can’t get in. She was screaming at us and then said she would call her husband to get us in trouble. She called but once she said she forgot her ID, we heard their ENTIRE conversation. Her husband was screaming at her from the time she called and all the way to the front gate where we were only to pause briefly to hand us her ID and apologize for her behavior before screaming at her again. Apparently it wasn’t the first time but for him it was the last time.

    #1 Karens, as usual, just decide that some random person MUST be working in the place and MUST serve them. Then, make a nuisance out of themselves, and, in this case, get arrested.
    #2 Good luck for that Karen complaining about an architect to the medical board. She'll get laughed at and called stupid. As for her husband... Hope that he'll start the divorce procedure ASAP.
    #4 Yes, her department had a high turnover as the employee just kept on quitting HER.
    #5 That rank is the husband's rank, absolutely NOT that of the wife. She can get her husband in real trouble pulling rank like that.
    #6 What a WONDERFUL story. Two peoples having a crush on one another, separated because they where just a bit to shy, reunited and getting to be happy together.

      As far as story 2 goes, once they won't leave, that's when you call building security and tell them some crazy woman won't leave your office, even after asking multiple times. That's their job to deal with at that point. Well, at least if the building has a security office/officer.

    2:47 simple cure for the entitled karen, when she asks for directions, say to her "your in the wrong building, go to the gnd floor then go four buildings to your right and then take the stairs to level 40, the doctor's office reception will be on your left" ... Once she leaves lock your door and turn some music on and get on with your day

    The power lock button on my van is right beside the pocket you use to pull the door closed so I've made it a habit to hit that button as I grab the door pocket to close it so the doors are always locked even before they're closed...
    Fortunately, I live in a rather sane area of Southern Ontario and I don't think my city has may Karens in it (I've never seen one anyway)...

    As a person whose parents are truckers, they constantly drive 14 hour days. Imagine the kind of road rage people experience when having to drive for an hour with people cutting them off and all other nonsense
    now imagine you're in a vehicle 5X as long with a quarter the turning radius and take twice as long to slow down and stop, whilst often having to lift heavy objects to manage your truck. They don't take shit from anyone.
    If you wanna start a fight with truckers, remember they have a mobile home full of equipment, and there is nothing physical that stops them from flattening your truck for brake checking them.
