Wow! I just discovered this video today too. I wish I had before. After several days searching, this is exactly what I needed. I feel like he's talking to me. Let's make this viral, it's a great video and he's great. I'm learning as I'm laughing. 🥰
I discovered this gentleman today. What an incredible lesson. I wish I'd heard this 10 years ago. I will look at my children in an entirely different light. It's almost as if our entire lives were just unraveled as I listened (in a good way). I can never learn enough about parenting. THANK YOU!
Kirk is the best! I listen to his Calm Couple, ADHD University, his son’s Straight Talks again and again. One of my favorite, most practical, authentic and most insightful teaching full of wisdom! I enjoyed the CDs because it goes deep into the issue and it contains very vulnerable and truly wise sharing ! It is life changing for me and my family life. Thanks Kirk and Casey!
Thank you to the wonderful folks at the Fairfax County Parent Resource Center for hosting us. If you have questions, email us directly at Kirk@CelebrateCalm.com and we will be glad to help you and your family.
Thanks for making this available, it's a great overview of the stuff I've heard you say in the podcast. I keep that as a regular reminder of what I'm supposed to be doing :-)
He’s awesome, if you actually look inward and apply his ideas to yourself instead of just laughing at his jokes and thinking of ways your spouse could be better.
WOw. this was amazing. taking nearly every single thing, writing it down for me to do literally in the next few days with my kiddos. homework? gotta get done, do i care how you do it? no!.. like my son would be like.. omg really?! such a small thing but so effective. but i do struggle with him in the sense of like he is a master manipulater and if i said hey yea you can go do your homework outside and trusting he would be doing that, he would use that as an opportunity to go play and he wouldnt do his hw. so how would you suggest handling that?
Strange thing... I did everything you said... but still, my headstrong daughter moved out at 16 years old to live with her grandmother because she is a everything go's person and lives nearby her new boyfriend....
Talk to the parent who's 20 plus year old child is still playing video games. Talk to that parent about how the school system let their kid down by not properly diagnosing him with high functioning autism. Talk to that parent about how that child needs the support that the school system dropped the ball on. Talk to that parent about how they now have to scramble without any financial resources because the kid is now over 18 to help that kid to beat the odds by going to school, by driving a car, by dating a girl, by dealing with all of the Asperger relationship problems because of the neurological issues of high functioning autism. Talk to that parent because there's an awful lot of us. The school system dropped the ball ❗❗😱
I burnt my hand 3 times within 3 days at 4 years old. I always ran into danger. I went on to have toxic relationships to controlling abusive men. To me that's a red flag. Usually when someone gets hurt they don't want to be hurt again. I'm pretty much a masochist so how was that a good sign and trait? It did nothing for me positive. I've just lived my life punishing myself.

My son did infact have to touch the hot stove! He learned that day, and I got to watch and get a good laugh out of it

This is the best advice. I wish I would have found you five years ago. Thank you so much!
