Easy, now, mate! Just breathe slowly, all right? Yesssss, innnnn annd ouuuut! That's it! And no more double espresso for you for the rest of the summer, all right? Revell AG, Airfix, and the others over the past few years have been improving their molds. Tamiya gave them no choice!
Thanks for the upload, it looks like an great kit. I have the 1:72 type IX from Revell and that was very expensive but also a great kit. I was looking for the same type/scale with fast diving bow but that is hard to find and insanely expensive. I am glad this one came out in 1:144 scale. A late type IX was sunk outside the coast of Norway near the island of Fedje by a British sub called venturer and it was the only sinking of a submarine done by another submarine during the war.The type IX was on its way from Bergen to Japan with secret blueprints of jet engines and other secret things and it is still on the bottom outside Fedje island.
@@MOS6510Models I think there is,if you Google U864 and HMS Venturer i think you find information about what happened. There is a lot of Quicksilver on the wreck and there has been talk of raising the sub for many years but nothing has been done yet. And the Quicksilver are seeping out of the wreckage.
That's some heavy surface detail, what did they use creating the molds, hammer and chisel? Imagine that detail enlarged 144 times! 😳😲 excellent video! 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Hi Moss, just bought this one and looking forward to building it but what colour do you think is the Humbrol closest to the Revell No.79 as 96 looks to blue, 27 looks to dark and 92 is no longer available?
Just a thought. When drilling out the holes for the deck railings, when it says 3, you drill out all three. This appears on both sides, this would prevent you putting on the railing on the wrong side, as they can only be placed one way. Just a thought.
Looks very nice in 144. I don’t now why, but there’s something about subs. I have the 1/72 Platinum edition USN Gato class and U-Boat VIIC-41 in my eclectic small stash. The gato is around 4 foot 6 inches long, the U-Boat around 3 feet.
MOS even if you /don't/ have a stash, the factory warehouse, courier to retailer, and the retailer will all /stack/ the boxes, as will the courier to you if you buy online. Regardless of the end user the box /will/ be stacked at some point. Re the guns, I think the double-barrelled ones are the flak guns - smaller so you can swing them round quicker on fast moving targets - and the longer single barrelled one is the deck gun. The RCN one says 1945 so my guess is captured after the surrender of European forces. Then the RCN operated it to see why it was so good.
David R Lentz, Columbus, Ohio, USA (Saturday, 17 August, 2024) Revell AG some years past had made a kit of the Fletcher-class U.S. Navy World War Two-era destroyer in this scale that, with this Deutsche Kriegsmarine Unterseeboot model, would make an excitingly dramatic battle diorama.
Having worked at a UK supplier to modern RN submarines i love these old Kreigsmarine boats.
This is MADNESS!! I never thought I'd see "Revell" and "New Tool" in the same title - something must be wrong here! 😅😂
watch this space.... :)

@@DavidRLentz-b7i 🤣😅👍 No to be fair Revell is actually one of my favourite model brands especially the topics and box arts. 😁
Looks like I have found this winters kit, thanks for the review.
Hope you enjoy it!

Hi Moss just ordered one on your review.Looks if it could be a great weathering project .Great review
Hope you enjoy it! ill look forward watching your video builds on it :)
Very cool unboxing Mos!
Looks a really nice kit, very tempting
I think so too!
Bit the bullet and ordered one, thanks again for the review. I would not have considered a sub until I saw your box opening.

i really dont know.. have you tried www.mech9.com/p/revell-aqua-color-acrylic-paint.html
Hi MOS, at that length, puts it in the range of 1/350-400 scale surface ships for size
proper long

Me parece espectacular esa escala
i do too
I’m waiting for the 1/72 premium edition to come out so I can add it to the 1/72 Gato and the VII C U boat 1/72
Cor blimey, no pilot or canopy. Where do you fix the wipers?
Haha!! 😜

i have built small ones but not this size i dont think
Some hefty surface detail on the outer hull... I didn't know U-Boats were covered in 6" armour plating.

Got to love Revell.. they say “meticulous attention to detail”.. then the video and blurb says 115-parts while the box says 116… 😂
@@alanharris2799 😂😂😂
true lol
Surface detail look good, but the railings are thick

interesting.. great diorama idea
@@MOS6510Models thanks, mate. I have loads of ideas for dioramas, though I lack the means to implement them.
Does the rigging come with the kit?
no sadly
Railings look a bit thick !! Needs some photo etch or stretching some sprue...
yeah aftermarket could be key
They won’t change the box. They know about it.
