At my last Iron Maiden show, there were four generations of fans there, all of us knew all of the words and all of us sang the whole setlist. There is no band like them. UP THE IRONS!
I was born in 1981 and thanks to my uncle I began to listen to Heavy Metal since I was in my crib. My first memory comes with "Bark at the moon", obviously I listened to it years after the release, but I was 4 years old. Then, during my kindergarten years I discovered Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and many more cool bands. If there is a band who joins me with my uncle (he was like a dad for me), it's Iron Maiden. Sometimes I listened to albums of the 80's... Powerslave, Piece of mind, The seventh son of the seventh son... The whole decade and it's magic and I shall accept it, I cry... I thank to my uncle, whenever he is. I miss him. Receive my best wishes for you and your beloved ones
@@rickj6348 absolutely. Seeing her jump when I did (and in fact when all 30,000 or however many were there) made me feel proud. I did something right as a dad 😂🤘
Absolutely, saw quite a few fathers (and mothers), sons, and grandsons in attendance in Anaheim, CA last month. Amazing show, all into their 60's and playing like they're still 25!
One thing you have to remember about Iron Maiden, Elizabeth, is that they don't play TO an audience, they play WITH the audience. I don't think anyone came away from an Iron Maiden concert without a feeling they were part of the band that night in the last 35 years of playing concerts. Every member of the band is a showman.
I've loved this and a couple other songs of theirs for the past 20 years but now I'm getting way deeper into it, and i really hope'll manage to see them live even once, being part of that crowd... woah I get shivers just thinking about it, it would be such an epic night!
I suffer from clinical depression. these songs that you react to (iron maiden, opeth, pantera, black sabbath etc..) were always the better part of my life, much more than a soundtrack. they are the best therapy I met. but still sometimes the lows get lower and I need a little more help. The way that you express excitement and appreciation for the music and artists is one of the only things that helps me feel when I can't feel anything. so thank you for that. a lot.
There are certain bands and albums that I will listen to when I am depressed because most of the time they always help me. In the summer of 2021 , my mother was in the hospital for over 40 days. I had so much anxiety and depression at the time , and the only band that helped relax me was Primal Fear. Their greatest hits double album Best Of The Fear worked big time.
I feel like we are turning her to the dark side Bruce has some of the greatest energy on stage. The band as a whole is just so powerful. The key and tempo changes, the driving bass and drums and Bruce adding the cherry on the top. I'm glad you enjoy them.
@@jochem420 Insane amounts of talent. Elizabeth has been showing the world alot of them for 2 years now. Like her first. Ghost Love Score by Nightwish.
yea dude. its very gratifying and satisfying to watch somebody that had no contact with metal slowly discover, enjoy and appreciate the music we love for years. Not to mention that she basically explains us why we love the songs we do. It happened a lot of times for me with her reactions to Bruce and especially Dio, when I understood what they do, how they do it and the effect it has.
Bruce warms his voice up before a concert by running on a treadmill and singing at the same time. Hence why he can run around the stage while singing like he does. I was born on Maiden, a forever fan and we don't call him "The Human Air Raid Siren" for nothing lol.
I would add the contributing factor that the entire band w/ members of the crew regularly play soccer in their down time. These ol' farts are probably the most physically fit band... ever?
Rock in Rio's version is the best of all. About the "horse positon" and his runnings, after 40 years now it's time for him to pay the price. He underwent thru a hip surgery recently to fix few body parts hahaha. But he is almost 100% back on shape for 2022
Absolutely, but I understand the idea of going for a slightly newer version on this channel as she's already heard "young Bruce", so this was more similar to his sound now, while Rio is obviously not in the 80's, but he sounds younger than this version. If anything, maybe she should've picked a newer performance than Flight 666 rather than an older one.
Bruce Dickinson has commented in interviews that he runs all over the stage and makes these huge movements because he performs to the ENTIRE crowd. He's playing to the back of the crowd. He wants the people in the back to be able to see his performance.
His interview in Metal: A head bangers journey is great. He talks about when things are really right during the show, he can point, and the guy in the back row can feel that he's pointing hat him. the place seems to shrink.
You beat me to it. I've seen that very interview. Yes, that's exactly what he said. You need to make yourself big, and not just stand in front of the mic.
Great reaction, again. I grew up with Maiden. You alluded to wanting to interview Bruce. Well, you’ve interviewed Tatiana, so why not Bruce? I’m sure he’d be totally down for it. I hope you and your team are working on it. That would be truly amazing and wholeheartedly educational 👍
"Bruce would be the ultimate cheerleader". That line is pure gold. I really, really hope you land an interview with him because he's just as lovely a person as he is an awesome singer and performer. And of course that you experience an Iron Maiden concert some day. The vibe is just fantastic and fans are like family :)
His stance comes from his extensive fencing background. He was quite good and narrowly missed making the Olympic team. He was ranked 4th best in the UK. Bruce is what you call a polymath which is somebody who achieves a very high level in multiple disciplines. Bruce is also an accomplished pilot who holds a commercial airline license
I had the honour of meeting the great man many years ago, at a fencing competition. I really had to contain myself! Then I best him, lol. (NB He wasn't at his peak at this time but still darned good)
There is a story of how he was the pilot on a flight from London to Copenhagen, when Iron Maiden was to play at Roskilde Festival - and most of the passengers were fans, so they went nuts when he did his whole "This is your Captain speaking..." speech before take-off
At the end of the documentary "Global Metal", we end up at the first ever Iron Maiden concert in India, and the band opens up with Fear of the Dark. The audience all sings along flawlessly, because Iron Maiden fans are Iron Maiden fans, the world over. And Bruce gets a big grin on his face, like he's just been introduced to long lost family members. I do hope you get a chance to chat over tea with Bruce - he's a sweet, thoughtful guy who really does love his audiences.
Hopefully you can contact Bruce or Iron Maiden's management to interview Bruce. That would be out of this world completely. Also, you and yer husband will have to see Maiden live soon. The atmosphere is second to none. It will bring you to tears. 🤘🏻🇬🇧🖤
When they went to Venzuela in 2009, Bruce jumped from the second level of the stage did a split mid air landed and continue to sing, it was amazing to see that and he was 51 at the time!
Bruce is the best showman in music. He is constantly running around the stage, never misses a note, and has multiple outfit changes. Plus he flies the damn plane😂
I have schizophrenia and am practically unable to do much of anything without intense fear. This song explains my state of mind at most times. It’s an intense paranoia that doesn’t have to come from ‘the dark’ but as the song says, something as simple as the light starting to change.
I am a metal head since I was 14, now I am 40 years old. We "The Metalheads" were some weird kids in black with long hair.. It is very exiting to see that over the last 4-5 years I see "normal" people are enjoying the songs I love! I think the value of metal music has increased much more with youtube.
what r u about? I'm 57, was a jock in high school, studied hard and into priest, maiden, and sabbath. also been playing guitar since 12 years old. music is music, no particular type of person defines it
I've loved metal since most of these bands (Maiden, Priest, Sabbath, & Dio!) first played in the 80s. Seeing Elizabeth react to them now is just like bringing a new fan into the fold, and makes me feel like I'm hearing them for the first time. Rock On 🤘🤘
….. yeah because rock/metal music is IMMORTAL! Can you remember ANY pop song from lets say 1987/88? Welli cant to consider i listening different kind ofmusic to be honest. Well but somehow i remember from the scratch…… Moonchild, keeper of the seven keys, Here i go again etc etc. 50 year metalhead here…… since 1980. Will die headphones on listening probably from Maiden.
It’s really quite astounding how guys like Bruce Dickinson, Halford, Tate, Dio etc are able to deliver vocals like this night after night year after year over some of the loudest played music on the planet without destroying their voices, very cool 🤘😎 Another suggestion for a great vocalist who’s been killing it at this level for over 50 years is Glenn Hughes, this guy is astonishing for his age and has a rap sheet of great songs longer than I could list here 👍🏻
agreed... though I always feel a little cheated by Halford, only because I have never once heard (nor seen a video of) him doing the opening scream to Dissident Aggressor live. That minor quibble aside... all the guys you listed are/were absolute beasts. While obviously not as old, though I do feel Tim Owens deserves more respect than he gets, being as he does hit all the highest notes live (be it Priest, Iced Earth, etc).
I saw a Bruce interview few years ago. The reporter ask about his movements, his theatricality and voice projection. He answered that he wants that the guy screaming and jumping in the last row of the hall, to have the same experience of the guy in the first row. Good analysis, as always ☺ Edit: one step closer for you to release a Heavy Metal album 😄
Iron Maiden is absolutely epic....I'm a kid from the 80's and so glad they're still with us on earth. Not many bands can reach across so many generations and still perform at their level. I want to see the day those headphones fly off and you start head-banging - hahaha.
I've said it before, I'm saying it again and I'll probably say a lot of times to come, but your enthusiasm when your reviewing metal songs is just so enjoyable to watch. this song from the rock in rio show is what got me into maiden and it's always great to see the excitement you show during these.
Agreed. Elizabeth almost makes me love metal more, if that were possible! Bruce, Dio, Halford...if she discovers Robert Plant we will be watching this channel forever.
Fear of the Dark is an unbeatable masterpiece. All live versions are great, but the studio version from the album is something else. Up the Irons! 🤟🏻🇬🇧
@@hendrikscheepers4144 Bruce sang differently on Fear of the Dark and No Prayer for the Dying then he did on previous albums so this is actually better than the recorded version
With Maiden EVERYTHING sounds better live. If only because playing together live creates a vibe and energy that you will never get in a studio, doing X amounts of takes until the energy and rush wears off, and lets not forget, because there is no audience energy to feed off.
I have to say that Fear of the Dark from Rock in Rio is by far the best performance on video. Crowd participation, Bruce’s vocals, Dave Murray and Adrian Smith solos and the drumming of Nicko. Just an outstanding performance.
We know every note of the song by heart, and it is a wonderful experience to sing all the notes together with all the stadium. Such a feeling of togetherness.
God damnit I miss metal concerts. There’s just nothing like it. It’s so familial. A bunch of sweaty people drawn together by a love of the same feelings. Just this magical moment where you’re surrounded by fearless people who feel like they could run straight through a brick wall.
This song is the main reason I HAD to see Iron Maiden in concert! Just being part of this...the haunting feeling of everyone in the audience joining the guitar was magical!! SO amazing!! I was very nervous that they wouldn't play it because they were doing so many of their more obscure songs! I was rewarded, however!! My heart was full!!
On audience engagement years ago Bruce said Ian Gillan of Deep Purple told him you engage with one and the whole audience wonders if they will be next. Get one and you got them all. The whole band seems to have taken this approach as well.
Bruce dickinson once said that he go rollerblades and sing the entire setlist to prepare his stamina for the shows (so rollerblade for 2,5h-3h at the times )
I’m not talking about this video, I’m talking about a man that is still doing what he does amazingly well given what he has been through with the cancer, and a man who has done so much for where I live.
Spontaneously singing along at Maiden shows is exhilarating. Maiden fans are a special group - the relationship with Maiden is similar to Deadheads (imo). Next time they go on tour, I highly recommend you go.
Yeah back in the late 80s and early 90's I was able to follow maiden up and down the west coast. Four nights in a row in long Beach, two nights in Irvine meadows, San Bernardino, up to Portland and they used to tour socal twice each tour. I think I saw at least 80 shows, would love to see them in Hammersmith. That would be the ultimate. Up the irons
Its pretty remarkable how Iron Maiden is still able to put on a great show nowadays, and Bruce is still running 20 miles around the stage and still able to breathe lol. Just saw them in Sioux Falls earlier this month.
Iron maiden was the first group I saw live in 1990. 31 years later and having seen them 30 times in concert, I still enjoy each time as that teenager at his first concert.
Telling you, being in the crowd singing along to the intro guitar part is so iconic and atmospheric and chilling and haunting. It’s one of the best experiences of their liveshows
I get goosebumps every time that I hear the intro. Being a part of a 14.000 - 82.000 person crowd, all singing along, makes for an incredible experience...I have done it four times so far, and I would do it every weekend if I could :)
Maiden just brilliant musicians of the highest calibre. This singing and playing is second to none. This shows that preconceptions about ANY type of music is often blown away when people actually listen.
Fear of the Dark is like Holy Diver, most famous song but not the best. If you want appreciate Bruce not only in vocals but in composition, Revelations (was the first song written for Iron Maiden), it is a masterpiece and of course have a fantastic performance by Bruce.
Revelations is one of my favorite Maiden songs and has one of Bruce's most emotionally charged vocals. I also think "Powerslave" is a great vocal performance. Very theatrical and menacing.
@@sugarbear1976x Run to the Hills is a recognized metal classic. It's kind of Maiden's "Freebird". Fear of the Dark is a live favorite, but not as revered as Run to the Hills.
Bruce's stamina is legendary. His band mates cant keep up with him. As you might know he is also the pilot of their aeroplane. They ( the band) have said they wish they could bottle his energy.
That also comes from being, at one time, an elite level sportsman - fencing requires an immense level of sustained power output, and his strength and conditioning training from that would help his future career. No doubt he kept the training regime going.
Regarding Bruce's endurance, in preparation before every tour, Bruce will put on roller skates and sing the entire concert setlist, all the songs, from beginning to end while roller skating in an empty parking lot to make sure he has enough endurance, build up his cardio and can last the whole concert. This is why he always has so much energy and is able to run around on stage and still deliver amazing vocals and not get tired.
@@XAMS If I want to hear good Bruce Dickinson's live vocals I'll just listen to "live after death". Recorded live, and damn good to listen to. This is Bruce after 40 years of extensive touring, battling with throat cancer and age finally catching up with his voice. It is only natural that he is not going to be as good as he was in the 80s. That doesn't make him any less and I don't need to say "amazing" at this performance. He has had an amazing career, amazing performances and his music still sells like hot cakes. Maiden are true living monsters of Rock /metal legends.
@@infinitydreamzz Wtf are you talking about? You gave literally the worst example of Bruce vocals ever. Live After Death is notorious for having horrible Bruce vocals, his voice was damaged after a very long tour. Bruce from the early 2000s is among the best he ever sang.
You’ve got to listen the version of Fear of The Dark from the 2001 Rock ‘n Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro. They’ve actually released a DVD of that concert. It is amazing and the crowd is extremely loud too… and by the way, Bruce not only runs all over the stage, but also jumps more than one time…
So, Slaven Bilić, the ex croatian football player and my cousin, was playing for West Ham back in 90s. He was a captain even if I recall correctly. So, Slaven was called on some "charity dinner" or something like that in London. He went to the elevator and behold, Bruce Dickinson enters with him. Slaven almost fell off, completely star strucked, being a huge RockNRoll fan in general, but mostly liking heavier stuff, like metal, grunge etc. And he says to Bruce that hed give huis whole football career for one stage show exoperience infront of thousands (he plays guitar also). And Bruce replies hed give his whole music career to run once on the football pitch in West Ham jersey. Hes apparently huge West Ham fan.
I was just thinking about it in other way: She's rewieved so many metal songs... As if any metalhead needed someone to tell them that METAL is the best.
Her throwing the horns for the first time in the "Heaven and Hell" reaction is my favorite TCV moment! Her spontaneously erupting into hair-tossing, headphone-launching headbanging may be the only thing capable of topping it for me.
You have no idea how fun it is to relive my youth seeing these bands again through your eyes and expertise, you bring these bands / singers to a whole different level of appreciation. Love this so much!!!
The Rock in Rio version has over 200,000 fans singing along to the melodies of the guitars and it's god damn chilling to hear. Beautiful, and a lovely display of how intense and in tune their fan base is
You jest, but ducks can be vicious bastards! Other duck related metal tunes include "Down With the Sickness", "The Feathered Ends of Sanity", "Hall of the Mallard King", and "Quack at the Moon."
I've been listening to Iron Maiden for 40 years and watching your reactions is extremely entertaining. I love how you are able to hear and immediately analyze it so accurately and articulately. Iron Maiden is a heavy symphony and going to their shows is an incredible event every time.
I never seen Bruce sacrificing the preformance and energy over being super accurate on pitch. He knows he can do it perfect and the audience knows it too, both know they are there for the entertainment and not a studio session.
I love love LOVE you facial expressions. There is no hiding how you feel about different aspects of their writing and singing style. Welcome to the metal community!
You should watch any of their musics from Rock in Rio to see the real interaction!! And dont forget he’s running and jumping and he is now 62 yo! Up the irons!!
I got constantly goosebumps listening to this song. This was one of my best live moments, when I was one of nearly 100.000 people in the audiance of wacken and everybody was singing around me. It was a really powerful fealing and even there was a lot of physical distance to the stage, it felt like Bruce was standing right next to me. Thank you for making this vdeo and bringing me back this memory!
I think that's the advantage of using the same intro for like forever. Same with Metallica and the Ecstasy of Gold. Like Pavlov's dog it conditions you with anticipation that shit's gonna hit the fan and its gonna hit the fan soon.
Your enthusiasm is infectious! It's like watching an Iron Maiden fan being born! It reminds me of how I felt when I first heard them almost 40 years ago...crazy!
Your reaction and immersion in Bruce's signing gave me goosebumps! I finally had a chance to see them live this past fall and it is such an intense and theatrical experience. They are soooo great live!
It's hard to find live footage, but Bruce Dickinson's vocal work on his solo material is just sublime. Anything from Accident of Birth, or The Chemical Wedding, would be mind blowing.
Bruce has stated that he makes exaggerated movements in an effort to be more visibly present for the people seated far from the stage. It also must be noted the relationship between the band and the fans in Rock n Roll and heavy metal. It is a trade off of power. Bands have talked about this energy exchange. As fans at the event, we feel it and we give back. If you are an emotional person, it might make you tear up to feel it.
"As fans at the event, we feel it and we give back. If you are an emotional person, it might make you tear up to feel it." I was wondering if someone feels rock and metal like I do. This hits it dead on.
Fear of the dark from Rock in Rio back from Brave New World is THE BEST FEAR OF THE DARK EVER PERFORMED LIVE! That whole concert from The Wicker man all the way to the end with Run to the Hills is nuclear reaction literally 🔥
As a lifelong Iron Maiden fan, one of my dearest concert experiences was being in the middle of the crowd singing along with this song.
Just took last Saturday my daughter to her first maiden show. She knew all the words. It was epic

Maiden Fans are awesome too, maiden concert is so good experience everytime.
same with motorhead/dio same feeling
Up the Irons! Every show they blow the roof off. It's crazy to feel the love with such an intense group of band and fans.

I suffer from clinical depression. these songs that you react to (iron maiden, opeth, pantera, black sabbath etc..) were always the better part of my life, much more than a soundtrack. they are the best therapy I met. but still sometimes the lows get lower and I need a little more help. The way that you express excitement and appreciation for the music and artists is one of the only things that helps me feel when I can't feel anything. so thank you for that. a lot.
yup
Listen to your music dude, always listen to your music, it's the first thing we put down when we get low.
me too. depression really hurts, doesn't it?
I use Deep Metal Meditation to help with depression, anxiety and insomnia! It’s been working for more than 20 years so far!
I feel like we are turning her to the dark side
Bruce has some of the greatest energy on stage. The band as a whole is just so powerful. The key and tempo changes, the driving bass and drums and Bruce adding the cherry on the top. I'm glad you enjoy them.
Metal is the outside of the asylum, not the dark side 😘

"Fear of the Dark" live is pretty close to what religious people might call a spiritual experience. 18 shows and I will never, ever get tired of it.
But he is almost 100% back on shape for 2022
Agreed - Rock in Rio is definitely the best performance of this song.
That's my definitive version as well :-)
Rock in Rio (2001) has some of the best version of all songs, easily one of their best performances and the set list is just great.
@@henrihell agreed. As a Maiden fan, I'd like to watch reactions of Bruce singing at the Ullevi Concert in 2005. That performance..Oh My Lord!!!
Bruce Dickinson has commented in interviews that he runs all over the stage and makes these huge movements because he performs to the ENTIRE crowd. He's playing to the back of the crowd. He wants the people in the back to be able to see his performance.
And because he sees Iron Maiden more of an act than a concert. Theatre more than just music.
His interview in Metal: A head bangers journey is great. He talks about when things are really right during the show, he can point, and the guy in the back row can feel that he's pointing hat him. the place seems to shrink.
Yep I've seen that.
He/they are amazing!!!! 🖤🤘🖤

I would totally watch an interview of you and Bruce. Now that he is in recovery from his hip surgery it might be your opportunity.
To be fair, Bruce had so many careers (singer, writer, fencer, pilot) that one more really wouldn't be surprising.
(NB He wasn't at his peak at this time but still darned good)
He flies Ed-Force 1, the bands own 747
and an excellent singer!!! new word polymath!
There is a story of how he was the pilot on a flight from London to Copenhagen, when Iron Maiden was to play at Roskilde Festival - and most of the passengers were fans, so they went nuts when he did his whole "This is your Captain speaking..." speech before take-off
I'd be curious if he's into intellectual pursuits. I'd like to know what books/essays he's read. Especially any academic material.
Screem for me, Stoke o Trent!

The Sam Dunn docs are just awesome.
I tear up every time I watch flight 666. I love seeing how emotional people get seeing Maiden. It is like the reaction to the Beatles got.
Bruce doesn't always start the song with the voice like that. He likes to play it up sometimes. Listen to the album version for the original opening
As a 35 year old, I hope to age as well as he does! Though maybe I should start working out to keep in shape, aside from just walking lol
Saw him this summer (2022) ... oh he was full of energy allright, the 64yo was jumping and dancing all over
I do love how Bruce can be like, confidently off-pitch. The "imperfection" is expression, and that makes it more vibrant and interesting.
As someone who's been there to see fear of the dark live nothing compares to being in the crowd singing along its a whole new world
Nice pun. I see what you did there.

You know your band is great when your audience sings along to the guitar and the solos.
I’m still that way! Metal, guitars and really awesome hair is me! I’ll never change!
what r u about? I'm 57, was a jock in high school, studied hard and into priest, maiden, and sabbath. also been playing guitar since 12 years old. music is music, no particular type of person defines it
I've loved metal since most of these bands (Maiden, Priest, Sabbath, & Dio!) first played in the 80s. Seeing Elizabeth react to them now is just like bringing a new fan into the fold, and makes me feel like I'm hearing them for the first time. Rock On 🤘🤘

Well but somehow i remember from the scratch…… Moonchild, keeper of the seven keys, Here i go again etc etc. 50 year metalhead here…… since 1980. Will die headphones on listening probably from Maiden.
I ve been a metal head since I was probably 11! Im nearing 60 now!!
It’s really quite astounding how guys like Bruce Dickinson, Halford, Tate, Dio etc are able to deliver vocals like this night after night year after year over some of the loudest played music on the planet without destroying their voices, very cool 🤘😎 Another suggestion for a great vocalist who’s been killing it at this level for over 50 years is Glenn Hughes, this guy is astonishing for his age and has a rap sheet of great songs longer than I could list here 👍🏻
Oh yeah "Child in time" please!!!
agreed... though I always feel a little cheated by Halford, only because I have never once heard (nor seen a video of) him doing the opening scream to Dissident Aggressor live. That minor quibble aside... all the guys you listed are/were absolute beasts. While obviously not as old, though I do feel Tim Owens deserves more respect than he gets, being as he does hit all the highest notes live (be it Priest, Iced Earth, etc).
they all have lessons in classical/opera vocals ang singing.
@@bishopsteiner7134 I agree ..Ripper doesn't get his due...
You should add Matt Barlow to this list. He really set the bar for Iced Earth.
I saw a Bruce interview few years ago. The reporter ask about his movements, his theatricality and voice projection. He answered that he wants that the guy screaming and jumping in the last row of the hall, to have the same experience of the guy in the first row.
Good analysis, as always ☺
Edit: one step closer for you to release a Heavy Metal album 😄

i feel the live versions bump it up even more because the fans vocalize the guitar parts which adds so much to the magic of maiden
Every once in awhile, a song sounds better live than it does on the album. This is one of them.
Nah. It sounds just as good for sure tho, which in itself is pretty rare
@@chaptermasterpedrokantor1623 I agree
I have to say that Fear of the Dark from Rock in Rio is by far the best performance on video. Crowd participation, Bruce’s vocals, Dave Murray and Adrian Smith solos and the drumming of Nicko. Just an outstanding performance.
The Clansman is also great.
Oh i don't know that and i am huge fan of Deep Purple, that's nice!
So is Bruce

I love how she’s so innocent to metal and how she is genuinely excited and shocked that it can sound so good and it’s not all noise.
I think she’s a good bit beyond “shocked that it can sound so good and it’s not all noise”.
I'm not sure innocent is the right word here. She seems genuinely excited about the creativity of the bands, in a sort of artistic admiration.
To be fair, Maiden is one of the more musical metal bands. I wouldn't expect her to start enjoying Nile after this, for example.
The look on her face at the first tempo change? Priceless. Makes me think she had the volume turned up to 11.
What I find most interesting about this channel is it is giving me a deeper appreciation for my metal. And that’s metal…🤘🏻

To Tame A Land is hugely underrated too
Run to the hills is a more popular song then this.
@@Walamonga1313 greed. One of Maiden's lesser-known epics.
Do Blood Brothers at Rock in Rio as next Maiden song, you will not regret it :)
Awesome performance, awesome song... you're right!
It's impossible not to love this lady.
Best live version is Rock in Rio 2001. I really don‘t know why the other versions are so high in demand.
Exactly! That version is a classic, we always play that one on parties.

He where close to the Olympic team but did not make it- I can't remember the details it been a while since I read the autobiography
@@HenkeEdge He was ranked 7th in the UK, so he would have been just outside of Olympic participation...still bloody impressive :)
Not to mention each of these legends are in their mid to late 60's and still delivering at this level 🤯
@@Io-Io-Io I was being kind I've listened to them since I was 15 I'm 52 now
@@Io-Io-Io me neither I'm old
They still put on a show after all these years I still am impressed with the level of musicianship
I never seen Bruce sacrificing the preformance and energy over being super accurate on pitch. He knows he can do it perfect and the audience knows it too, both know they are there for the entertainment and not a studio session.
My favorite part is when she realizes that Bruce is telling the story, the drop occurs, and then you're in the story. UP THE IRONS!
I got tears in my eyes when you talked about Iron Maiden and us, their fans! That’s something that I really love about them! ❤️
So do I!
AND! A cancer survivor.
30 shows in for me & when the Doctor Doctor tape starts up I am like a little kid on Xmas morning. Every. Single. Time. 🤘
Same here, sir.,Same here.
agreed! Feel like crying when i hear that
@@IwieIch123 Crying is when they play Always look on the bright side of life. It's like an instant withdrawal and you're just like.. "It's.. over?".
"Bruce Dickinson, The Ultimate Cheerleader" - Charismatic Voice, The. - 2021
She looked like a kid on Christmas morning that just got the toy they wanted when they started playing again.

'A supported holler' is a great way to describe Bruce's voice. i keep coming back to this video and others, it never get old.
Same
Bruce is one of the best vocalists on earth! Rock on Bruce! I hope Maiden will still play for a long time! 🤘🏻
Fear of the dark from Rock in Rio back from Brave New World is THE BEST FEAR OF THE DARK EVER PERFORMED LIVE! That whole concert from The Wicker man all the way to the end with Run to the Hills is nuclear reaction literally 🔥
No really though, the Rock in Rio version is the best 🙏🏼
Rock in Rio is their best performance ever
Although Rock In Rio is the place to get most of the classic songs, I'd say the Fear of The Dark vocal performance is better at Donnington 92.
100% Rock In Rio Fear is S-class, this version was only a mere A ;)
As a lifelong Iron Maiden fan, one of my dearest concert experiences was being in the middle of the crowd singing along with this song. THIS is why Iron Maiden is probably the greatest concert band of all time!
And, I have to say, watching your reactions to this song are the icing on the cake! Your enthusiasm makes me smile! So fun!
