Ahh such a good lesson. Thanks Chris! I like the way you teach ideas instead of note for note. Good idea to charge the tab people for the tab cause it is super tedious and deserves some payment. I hate tab but I hope you get lots of buyers. The magic is definitely in your dynamics and build up. Just smooth and melodic too.

Yeh the Stevie influence is strong I love it. I also feel like I hear some Clapton influences like (journeyman era) imo in this solo as well. He is definitely diverse in his style.

I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that every time you said "This came from SRV/Hendrix" they got the same lick from Freddie King, Albert King, Howlin' Wolf, etc..That is definitely where it all comes from even though you (and I) heard it first from Hendrix/SRV.

This may seem like a dumb question, but does anyone know what Chris is doing to get the distorted sound at around the 11:45 mark? It’s not mentioned in the tabs, and it doesn’t look like he tweaked any of the knobs on the tele. Could it just be that he’s turning on a distortion pedal? It sounds amazing.

Hi - I was wondering the same until I saw an interview with Chris where he said his MacBook fell on it and snapped it off. He’s was ok with the position it was in and has got used to the extra space it allows his right hand!!
Hey Nic. You can buy either the backing track on its own or the tab and backing track together. When you click the link in the description box, it's the backing track on the left and tab/backing track on the right :)
