- I promised I'd wait for the post-holiday patch before reviewing After the Fall on PlayStation VR, so here it is. ATF is a fun game that still needs a ton of work and a lot more content.

So grateful to PSVR Without Parole saving me and others from wasting money. I'm especially susceptible since I'm such a sucker for VR shooters.
I'm honestly shocked how this turned out, too. It looked so much more promising and I loved Arizona Sunshine.
It is fun and improves a lot of the problems with Arizona. Unfortunately they created more problems in the process.
Fair review considering how the game launched. I'm surprised you waited 2 months to give them a chance to patch it before you reviewed.
Still one of my favorite games on PSVR2. I love how the weapons feel with haptic feedback, vibration, and sound. I love their upgrade system for guns and skins. And I especially love the community for how friendly amd helpful they are.
This is another shallow experience rather than the AAA I was expecting when I bought it. I wish this review was out when I did the purchase. Bryan's reviews are so accurate!. Now the only thing to do is pray for the devs to add tons of free content soon to make it worth.
The moment-to-moment gameplay does look fun. With a price drop and/or significant extra content I'll probably pick this up. Thanks Bryan!
You need to go back into this, its come a long way over the past year, still no end game goal but everything else has been drastically improved
Great review Bryan. So far I have been disappointed, after preordering the game. I do believe that Vertigo will continue to work on this game and give us more content but with PsVR 2 on the horizon, I do believe it will be too little and too late to matter.
This gsme is the last pre-ordered game I ever buy. This game has been a lot down.

I had great fun with it. Its left 4 dead in vr. Only disappointing thing is no offline play

The controls are fine (now that they've been patched). Whether you're using the AIM or the Moves there's still a learning curve when figuring out how to use/store items or toss a pipe bomb, but it all works well enough now. :D

Disappointed to hear this. I really enjoyed Arizona Sunshine. Like to see a campaign mode worth playing here.
It would have been cool if the 2v2 mode included all the zombies, so not only you would have needed to hunt the two opponents but also stay sharp to keep the zombies off you back.
It's on sale for $14 right now. Is it worth it? How have they been with updating it?
The zombies in this game are impressive, the AI, numbers and their overall look. The gameplay itself should be praised but the gameplay loop going nowhere does stink

Why are there no checkpoints? Biggest hate with this game is you have to start all over again, makes hard and long levels not worth it after 2 fails
Question, new to your videos and maybe this is dumb. But what is the last option when you show the compatible accessories at the end of your videos? I’ve never seen that before. Seems to not be very compatible since it hasn’t been an option from the videos I’ve seen so far.
It's the 3dRudder - probably one of the worst peripherals I've ever seen honestly. It's time to retire the icon though because as you already pointed out, no one supports it anymore....

I bought this after meeting someone in AS2 Horde mode that said this was better, and they were right! AS2 could easily add a mode like this (4-Player co-op. Point A, to B, to C, and so on). The game is perfect for it.

Hey King! I've been back. The PSVR2 version is great (from a technical standpoint) but the repetitive gameplay loop and slow progression still bores me. Ultimately shallow, but friends make it fun! And the sale price is waaaaaaay better than the $40 they were trying to charge at launch :D
I agree with everything you said but i still enjoy the game for what it is..... for now. One day I just might get bored if there's no new content coming soon. Nightmare mode is a challenge since you lose your loadout upon losing, albeit it's kind of redundant since i have 2 million harvest with only guns and items to spend it on
I had fun too! I've played quite a bit of ATF (at launch, then again after this patch) and I had a good time. But for the price they're charging we should expect so much more than this - mechanically and content-wise. Hopefully we'll see updates for both soon so I have an excuse to spend more time with it! :D
@@WithoutParole you should do a review or update since they added the frontrunner update. This game has made improvements and is coming into it's own.
@@mcyucks9991 the score wouldn’t be much different honestly. Maybe a 7 at best. Hopefully with a few more updates they’ll add something substantial!

Bryan you were complaining about controls(Moves) on your live stream. Is it any better?
Yes, absolutely! There's still a slight learning curve but using the DS4/AIM/Moves all pretty much work the way you'd expect them to now. :D

Same! Not on sale, but I just started it and I’m havin a blast. Thankfully you can talk to group members in a lobby, now. That would’ve sucked.

Its 14 bucks now. I wonder if they improved it. You should do follow ups
They added some new maps and stuff but it's still the same basic gameplay loop with the same miniscule rewards. So people who love it will love it even more now. But for people like me who think the core premise is boring --- nothing's changed. $14 is a good deal though so you might want to consider it if you have 3 friends willing to grind with you
You forgot the most annoying part of the game. There is a way to recieve no floppy disks the entire time until the last section before the boss of the map. When you beat the boss you'll be in one final saferoom where the arcade style game cabinets have no disk drives to put your floppies into, meaning you lose your disks and don't get the items afterwords.
Are you positive about that James? I’m pretty sure you never have to use the drives - they’re only there to free up your inventory slots - and if you’ve got the disks in your inventory at the end of the stage you’re good to go. Or am I totally wrong about that?
Have they just abandoned this game? Ive not seen any update since April. Also the game STILL claims its playable offline.

As long as everyone playing has their own headset and console then yes. But if you're asking if you can have multiple people playing on the same console then no.
I do like this game but it needs alot of new content to keep it feeling fresh that's for sure.
Even if this game was good theres no coach or ellis so it could never be better than 5 out of 10

You'll get the most for your money from Borderlands, as long as you don't mind playing solo
@@WithoutParole I brought fracked played it once and its the only vr game that's made me sick didn't even get past the 1st part in the 1st level I love borderlands I've played every version on every console but worried now I'm going to get motion sickness don't want to waste my money again

Maybe i live on a different planet! I certainly live on a planet were move controllers have been bansihed through the cat flap! This is the first multi player fps game with aim support in a very long time! Yes it light on content but this is left for dead/back4blood in VR. Done well! The best game on psvr since firewall....and its got a shed load more polish then that game had when it came out! Harsh review!

The Games is dead
As much help as After the Fall needs, I've gotta say that there's still a great player base. I spent the last two days playing almost non-stop and I ran into quite a few PSVR gamers (and a TON of Quest gamers!) Can't say I ever had any trouble jumping into a random party! :D
